FYI, for anyone that is looking for some more control on a glass pad, I tried the cyclones vs the obsidian pro airs. The pro airs are still faster than the ghostglide cyclones. It could be that the xray pad dots just take a lot longer to break in because of the harder material or something though. I tried to speed up the process by pressing into my glass pad and moving it in circles for a couple minutes and also using them for a several hours, but in the end the obsidian pros were still faster to me. Just if anyone was curious
7:25 - No, you can't, that's not how physics works. You might get better stopping power/worse starting power, but the friction will stay the same unless the surface is changed (either by dust build up or by changing to a different mousepad altogether).
Hey, second comment on your video to talk about skates because your first response really helped me. I main Apex and have been liking the Obsidian pro so far, if I were to upgrade to these new skates should I stay on the Pro or are the purple Air still manageable in term of speed ? (Tracking scenario not target switching so I don't need incredible speed) I'm on SP-004 btw
Hello again! Hmm how do you feel about the speed and control of the Obsidian Pro? If its just right, I don't feel the need for you to change. If you feel it's holding you back a little and would like a bit more speed, try the Purple Obsidian AIR. On the other hand if you feel like you could use a bit more control with the glide, Obsidian PRO AIR is worth a shot! Purple Air is still manageable and I like it more for Overwatch than Valorant. Not as crazy fast paced as Apex but I feel more freedom with the speed haha Both these new skates kinda give people the options of something a bit faster and something with a bit more control. I see the Noise control tech as something they are trying out for the first time and can pretty much use for any of their current dot skates if they decide to in future :)
@@wasabitech Thanks for the answer ! Well to be honest the pro are really slow, I feel like I’m on a hard artisan zero which is great when I play Val but since I main Apex I feel like I’m losing a lot of the glass pad value. Moreover I’m sure you’ve tried to use the SP-004 without slow skates and it’s just barely controllable (at least to me) which is why I liked the Pro at first but now I feel like going faster (but not too much) is the way to go. Anyway I’ll try the air and if I really feel like it’s still slow I’ll try those jade ones you mentioned. Always looking forward to your vids I’m sure you’ll make it big !
@@wasabitech Oh and I forgot to ask to you by any chance know the beastX max ? My GPX2 sensor is not happy at all with the SP-004 (straight up going wild multiple times a day) so I wanted to know if I should upgrade to a BeastX max or a Viper V3 Pro ? (21/13 claw grip so I need a medium/big mouse) Thanks again and sorry for harrassing you on multiple videos lol.
Hello! From what I am aware of , Razer does not sell replacement skates. I would suggest full sized skates that have a balance of control and speed. Corepads Viper V3 Pro skates is one I can think of that should give a good middle ground experience with the glides.
Obsidian (Dots, Donuts, Full Skates) or the Obsidian Air Purple Dots :) They only have them purples in Dots at the moment and I hope they make more shapes for gamers!
that chart at 1:48 is so much more helpful than what xraypad has on their site when you click on the product, thank you for showing me it
I'm glad it was helpful! I did it because I was a little confused myself 😅

Thank you very much!! :)
Great vid. Would've been awesome to include the original Obsidian's in all of the comparisons as well.

Does the obsidian air with the increased height make it better for softer pads compared to normal obsidian?

Help, please. I bought these for my Viper v3 pro. Yes, they felt good, but the stock felt better. How do i go back, lol?

Do you think these are worth it over the obsidian pros?
I think they are worth it if you want "quieter" skates or skates for glass with a bit more control :)
any control skate suggestions for cloth pads?
