    • @3ildcard
      @3ildcard 26 днів тому +3

      @patrik259 interesting observations, i haven't came across that "meta". People try glass because hype > get annoyed > back to cloth. As usual, Jaeky is just going with the hype train. I have glass, its annoying. Its cold, every dust/hair partical or anything really makes it insufferable, wearing sleeve at each sitting is annoying and it eats PTFE feet in a week or two slowing it down to Zero Mid levels. With cloth, wash it monthly and you're good to go.

    I highly advise against using stock or normal PTFE skates on glass mousepads. I think its totally unusable especially if they are big pad skates. The surface wears down unevenly and the skates become unusuably sketchy and inconsistent due to the depressions that usually form in the middle of the big pad skates. Just grab obsidian air dots.

    Texture is for the feel and tension of the mouse movement, not sensor tracking

    • @Jaeky
      @Jaeky  11 днів тому

      "The texture on glass mousepads is specifically engineered to enhance the tracking capabilities of optical mouse sensors. Optical sensors function by capturing images of the surface beneath them and detecting movement through changes in these images. A completely smooth, transparent glass surface lacks the necessary features for the sensor to detect movement accurately, leading to tracking issues. By introducing a micro-etched texture, the surface provides the sensor with a consistent pattern to detect, thereby improving tracking precision. For instance, the Razer Atlas mouse pad features a micro-etched surface texture to ensure optimal sensor tracking."

    I been using the SkyPad 3.0 and it's been great. Love it. They (SkyPad) rebranded to Wallhack earlier this year so they could expand away from just mouse pads. It's so easy to clean and could literally be passed down to your kids. The initial learning curve switching to a glass pad had me lowering my sens cause I could swipe so easily and faster. Also had the issues of skin sticking but the way I aim I don't even need a sleeve anymore. Would probably help but it doesn't bother me to not use one anymore. Will only use glass from now on

    • @JingMitsuyamaCH
      @JingMitsuyamaCH 26 днів тому +2

      I don’t main glass so no bias from me, but you can LITERALLY use it as a cutting board. The hot stuff while i don’t believe it will break it, i would highly discourage it as many glass pads have a solution coating and heat could potentially ruin the pad’s performance but im not certain

    • @kami3449
      @kami3449 25 днів тому

      You can put whatever you want on it you just cant slide certain materials on it because it will damage the surface. Stuff like glass or metal will damage the surface if its sliding around on it and you'll be able to hear it too, it makes a horrible scratching sound. I personally eat on mines all the time i just set the glass down and pick it up, never slide. Either that or i put a microfiber cloth towel down before i put my bowl or plate on top if i dont feel like being careful. Also as far as something falling on it and breaking it unless that something is like 40 pounds and made of a very hard material then it will not crack. All glass pads have several layers and are heat treated at 500-700 degrees so that wont be an issue for you.

    • @Jaeky

      Just makes the glide smoother. Especially in warmer weather your arm will stick to the glass unless you use a sleeve.

    • @kami3449
      @kami3449 25 днів тому

      Mainly because of humidity and sweat. When you start to sweat, your hand/forearm gets hot, or you live in a humid area it will stick to the glasspad. However there are glasspads out there that have sweat and water resistance like Glsswrks Kazemi and Glsswrks Hana plus several others. So if you live somewhere thats not extremely humid, 80%+, and wanted to go the sleeveless route than glasspads with those properties would be better for you than the 004 because you absolutely need a sleeve with the 004.

      @@CostillitaDangelo10thats false, there are speed and controlled glasspads just like cloth. Wallhack sp004 and Padsmith Blue empress are speed glasspads while glsswrks Kazemi, Padsmiths purple empress, kanami Sai and so many more offer WAY more control, too much for me personally. And before you say im capping I have 8 glasspads with 3 on the way, control 100% exist with glasspads, especially when you combo them with certain skates like ultraglide brakes.

Yes I did copy ur mouse lol bc I saw it worked on ur pad) for it after trying everything with the superlight2 but it is what it is I enjoy overwatch more so then ever before. I do play valorant too but mostly overwatch so the tracking is perfect. If anyone has a sensitivity recommendation for valorant im down to try it

    Do you not find the lack of stopping power an issue? Especially for Valorant. Like on a game like Apex or OW2 I can totally understand but in terms of precision, I can't see it being anything but harmful towards a Tac Shooters like Val or CS.

    • @EPOE
      @EPOE 27 днів тому +1

      If you have good mouse control then you will be all the stopping power needed. Precision isn’t an issue at all in my personal experience.

    • @Shyvorix
      @Shyvorix 27 днів тому

      At first you'll play like shit for sure with little stopping power but you'll get very used to it. Over time, if you practice, you'll get used to it and within a few weeks to a month or 2 you'll have no issues stopping. Do note though that your mouse skates do make quite a bit of a difference so would recommend Obsidian Pros or TJx Plastix skates.

    • @ForestWizardLookingForPotion
      @ForestWizardLookingForPotion 26 днів тому +2

      adding onto what others have said, if your mouse is light then it shouldn't have much inertia, thus less stopping power actually needed to make it stop

I think obsidians have to wear in, and when they do the controll is insane and i like it more than my Hayate Otsu! 100% recommend (but the Obsidian Pros is essential)

      Cap, haven't switched back to cloth from glass for 9 months now and will never do so. Just get controlled skates if PTFE is too fast for you to handle in tac shooters

    • @dedeath
      @dedeath 25 днів тому

      @kami3449 right, let's just use control skates so our frictionless glasspad now has friction.
      Just get a control pad. Only argument glass has for tac shooters is durability. There's a reason 99.9% of tac shooter pros use muddy control cloth pads

    • @kami3449
      @kami3449 25 днів тому

      @dedeath There isn't a single glasspad that's frictionless even with PTFE feet. They ALL have friction its just 004 and Blue Empress has the least amount compared to the rest. If your complaint is that glasspads are too fast for tac shooters FOR YOU then just get controlled skates that cost 5-9 dollars for a pack of 40 that will last you years or just get a balanced/controlled glasspad instead of a 004. And no, i will never go back to cloth. I could care less about what a pro uses. Im not a pro, you're not a pro, and no one in this comment section is a pro, so instead of glazing pro setups think for yourself and what works for you instead of doing tricks on it.
