Dear Robert, Thank you for your comments and sharing your feelings on behalf of the devastating earthquake victims. Support and prayers like yours from all over the world have simply shown us that we are not alone and have been taken care of people every where.
I am greek and have some turkish Friends and yes some Things are simmilar but not that many. Greeks do not drink tee or get their shoes off (unfotunaly) at Home. But that "Bad Eye Protektion", comes for sure from Turkey, allthoug it is not something you find everywhere A turkish Haus doesnt look like a greek House. Greeks love this warm mess and Houses are full of pretty little Things, much too many. A turkish House is for me too cold and emty. Lack of emagination somehow ....😏 Such a lovely Girl that's doing the Presentation though
Write the groom from uruguay in Yutub. To make a gesture to the irda turk girl, the groom makes a berabet turk dance with his friends with his turkish music. From 21 million to fazka was watched. You'll love watching.

I feel the same. I cannot count the number of Turkey series I have watched and how I fell in love with Turkish culture. I'm from California. If I were to travel anywhere, it would be to Istanbul; I believe that Can Yaman should be back in Turkey about now.
I miss living in Turkey. The people, family, culture, customs, foods, kindness, hospitality, and friendships. You can touch history all over the country. Wishing and praying for Turkey’s recovery after the earthquakes.
I admit I know little to nothing about Turkish culture so I found this interesting. Being a self prescribed “neat freak” I especially like that you don’t wear shoes indoors. I wear my slippers also. And the use of what I call “hand sanitizer”. I am more a coffee person than tea and have heard of but never tasted Turkish coffee but understand it is very good. As a side note I make handmade journals and recently purchased from Etsy some beautiful lace trims made in Turkey to use in my creations. I was very pleased and impressed with the exquisite workmanship. P.S. I live in the USA. Thank you for sharing this information.
Annie, boil water in a saucepan. Then add Turkish coffee grind up to espresso, about two spoons each cup. You can add a cardamom pod to it for flavor. Add sugar and let it boil a minute. All the grinds will stay on the bottom so pour in your cup.
No this recipe is not Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee doesn't have cardamom in it. You have to have Turkish coffee special mix from roasted arabica beans otherwise, you don't get real Turkish coffee taste. Most people drink without sugar in it but served with lokum or chocolate.
This is why I love UA-cam...we learn our fellow human beings live different lives culturally from our own but that we're all the same in so many ways. Thank you for your informative video!
I visited Turkey recently and omg I am totally in love. I absolutely loved the country, the food, people… everything is just amazing, ❤ from a Pakistani American ♥️
I love the Turkish culture and food. My husband and I lived in Izmir for 5 years back in the 70’s. Our daughter was born there. The Turkish people are so friendly and treated us like family.

Wow, it’s so similar to Romania. The carpets, the crochet. We even can find the same coffee brand in the shops, although we usually buy different types.

I had a trip to Turkey 🇹🇷 in 2010. There were so many things to enjoy, from delicious foods, to beautiful historic places. The taste of Turkish tea is different than standard tea in the United States (that normaly is Indian tea). I used to drink Turkish tea every hour during my trip. The taste is very special. I love it. ❤

Love this video! I always wonder what it looks like inside Turkish homes. Could you also please do a video on what you or you mother-in-law usually eat/cook in a day? Not sure if you already have done a video on that. As tourists, we are focused on restaurants and street foods, but it's good to see what Turkish people normally make from their own kitchen :) Thank you!
Indeed, except kebab and pide, what you find in restaurants in Turkey is also what we eat at home, but since touristic places are full of kebab restaurants, it's not easy to see. But I can tell you that a typical dinner in Turkey is generally centered by a one pot meal (that contains vegetables and/or meat) or some other type of meat/poultry/fish dish, accompanied by some of the following: salad, soup, rice/pasta/börek, zeytinyağlı (vegetable dish without meat), dessert (might be just fruits).
If you are visiting Turkiye, and tired of eating restaurant food, look for a home cooked meal restaurants called LOKANTA. They serve home style cooked meals like a smorgasbord. The main Turkish food is beans and rice. At home, they mostly eat stew style food. Red meat or chicken cooked with different vegetables or legumes and served with rice, bulgur or potatoes. BULGUR is also a big item in the Turkish kitchen. It is cracked wheat that is cooked like rice. It is much healthier than rice.
I really enjoyed your tour and like the rule of taking off ones shoes and having slippers to wear ,Americans have a nasty habit of wearing their shoes in the house and it's gross .I love Turkish coffee and had all the little pots after living in NYC .I recently moved and we bought a beautiful rug made in Turkey and I get lots of compliments on it !
Not sure what guests youre having over, but any house that is above lower middle class in the US considers it rude to have shoes on indoors. American slippers are marketed/commercially known as giant fuzzy monstrosities, but those are sold as a faux-luxury to... you guessed it below middle class markets.
New subscriber here from Philippines 🥰. I was in Turkey in 2017 as a tourist and really loved the people and the authenticity of the food. Really good! Looking forward to seeing you soon! 15.1.23
Hi Bery, I’m a subscriber of your channel and I watched almost all your episodes and you covered just about everything one needs to know about Istanbul, so with your help I’m finally coming to Istanbul on March THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just found your Channel and I loved your presentation. I am Australian but my parents emigrated from Italy and I love to learn about other Cultures. The European Mediterranean Cultures are very similar to Turkey. Thank you and Blessings to you.
I lived near Adana back in the late 80-90. That was a very accurate description of Turkish homes. Turkish people are some of the best people iI ever met. Some of the best food I ever had as well.
Thanks for this home tour , yes it was a typical Turkish house and Turkish style , even though the youth prefer much modern things , it was so nice , It is obvious that you have good relations with your mother in law , I appreciated 😊 , Turks are known with their hospitality , we love to accomodate guests , our doors are open for guests.
I am Turkish, and I admire the way you have come to love the Turkish culture; perhaps do to your spouse. I will have to say that you left out one very important item, which is synonymous with the Great Turrkish flag; it is a picture of MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK. HE IS THE GREAT FATHER OF OUR NATION. Thank you for this video❤
I recently returned from Istanbul after spending 2 months there and yes, every item you mentioned is an essential household fixture. As a matter of fact, I found those nesting table sets so practical, I have ordered one from Amazon right away :)
I also visited Turkiye in October last year. I stayed in Istanbul, Cappadocia and Antalya.I really enjoyed my stay, and especially the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Love Turkiye 🇬🇧💜🇹🇷
I just love this video.I am a great admirer of the Turkish culture and tradition.I have seen all those things you mentioned in every Turkish serials.I am very much delighted to see your video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I just discovered your channel five minutes ago. Watched this video and thought you were Turkish then I read the info section of your channel. You do look like Turkish, I am sure you have heard this before. Anyway thanks for this lovely video and Türkiye’ye hoş geldin 😍
This is in our Indian culture too - leaving shoes out in the veranda or hallway. Sometimes in some houses, you'll find an area to wah your feet and hands before you enter the main area. Chai is an essential part as well.
I'm tired of seeing comments of Indians under every video about Turkey. Sorry in most countries people leave their shoes out like Japan, Korea, China, central asia, middle eastern countries, so many european countries... Just stop trying to force yourself to associate Turkish culture with yours because this is ridiculous. Turkish people attach so much importance to hygine which is the quite reverse of Indian culture. That's the main reason of them to take off their shoes before entering the house. Turks know where they came from and which cultures has affected them and similar to them and that is definitely not India. There are so many other things to say but that's enough. Lol
Taking of shoes is even traditional in Japan! In Sweden and Scandinavian countries and other middle eastern houses. The same goes with tea and coffee. India, UK, Japan, Kina are the largest consumers of tea……preparing Japanese tea is a very important tradition. So many of the traditions. Ames I. This video, is customary in other countries.
Thats why there are many tea plantations in the subcontinent 🙄. Yes, not coffee but TEA ☕️ is a very Ancient Asian drink. Tea was introduced to the West, from Asia
@@rumanasagheer7980 tea or chai was an Indian tradition. The Mughals brought their own version of it. The Brits took that from India. No it was not introduced by the west.

As tourists, we are focused on restaurants and street foods, but it's good to see what Turkish people normally make from their own kitchen :) Thank you!
Go and watch Turkish drama series! You will love it! 🥰
I first got hooked on all things Turkish after watching Intersection on Netflix. Thank you for sharing!
We lived in Izmir when I was a kid. Loved it so, so much! Best ekmek in the world.
I am from India but I love Turkey

I lived near Adana back in the late 80-90. That was a very accurate description of Turkish homes. Turkish people are some of the best people iI ever met. Some of the best food I ever had as well.
İncirlik?
Thanks for this home tour , yes it was a typical Turkish house and Turkish style , even though the youth prefer much modern things , it was so nice , It is obvious that you have good relations with your mother in law , I appreciated 😊 , Turks are known with their hospitality , we love to accomodate guests , our doors are open for guests.
I'm from india.i like your culture. Very nice.
I’m pretty sure, that’s a Islamic tradition, many different people follow.
Thought I was gonna see her ringing the bird sounding doorbell as I've seen in so many turkish series.
Same here for not wearing shoes inside home in Canadian culture!
I am from India. I love Turkish culture. I watch Turkish serials and I've picked up a few words. I love the way the women dress the modern style.
I recently returned from Istanbul after spending 2 months there and yes, every item you mentioned is an essential household fixture. As a matter of fact, I found those nesting table sets so practical, I have ordered one from Amazon right away :)
You are lucky enough. I also visited Turkey from 1st Nov to 15 Nov 2022

Tea and coffee are not Indian originally but adopted one
This is such a lovely video! ♥️ We have the same custom in Norway 🇳🇴 We also take off our outdoor shoes upon entering a home.
I love Turkish culture thanks for your video it was great! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am from pakistan
And here we drink Black tea not coffee but black tea
In our language (chaye pati)
We boil milk and then we add tea powder..

Thank you for the tour of the Turkish home. You are an excellent diplomat for your country!
