Thanks so much for posting this! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
Hi! Don't worry at all - they put an IV in and within a minute I was out (I do not even remember falling asleep!). You definetly won't wake up and if you are worried about waking up just let your doctor know. They gave me propofol and it def is impossible to stay awake with that hahaha. Hope this helps!
Girl thank you so much for making this! You're so funny and made the experience look so entertaining and chill 🤗 I'm in the same boat, getting an endoscopy and colonoscopy in a few days and i'm currently at the 'eating plain foods' part which has been hard 😭I'm getting conscious sedation so gonna be awake but hopefully i'll be conked out. I feel a bit less scared after watching this tho
@@juniorchaidez4890Hey sorry this is so late! They kept me awake but gave me medicine that made me feel drowsy and probably reduced pain. I felt the camera in my stomach and there were some sharp pains but it was nothing too bad
Easy for Americans to say 'don't worry about it'. they don't put you to sleep here in the UK, just give you enough sedative to relax you and give you pain killers. You just hope your lack of sleep the night before knocks you out.
It’s so crazy that some GIs are doing a 36hr fast. Mine said have breakfast the day before, then all liquids. Take the first half of prep at 4pm. Then wake up and take 2nd half of prep at 5am. My colonoscopy is at 8am. So mine is barely a 24 hr fast. Im nervous I won’t be cleared out
ahhh i just did this last week. i also wanted to cry during the prep. I had to drink 2 of the small preps and 1 whole litre of another prep liquid! ahhhh never want to do it again. I also was like PASSED OUT as soon as they put my mouth piece in haahahah I had a slightly sore throat for an hour or two but that was about it! glad yours went okay!! I wish i watched this before I went in for mine hahaha
I have ulcerative colitis n I go on Wednesday, omg I needed this, I'm not watching NOMORE, I feel like I'm gone try to outdue the sedation 😅😭 tryna see what they doing
😂😂"They're doctors they have seen everything " This keeps me going.

Did you stay at the doctors for observation after the procedure or did you just go home strait after?
Hah girl you got twisted on that anaesthesia 😂 props for sharing.
I had an Endo recently and walked out like nothing happened, high tolerance maybe? 😂

I Appreciate ur Positive way
I took the bus to go home by myself after my procedure yesterday. Lol!
Omg I’m having an endoscopy in may and I’m already freaking out! They said they will give me propofol! And I heard Michael Jackson died from that!
Same here. I didn't schedule after hearing they'll be using propofol.
