    I'd say it was build early in the early1900s. 1920s at the latest. The front does look like it might have been modernized in the 1950s with a new front brick wall. But the interiors are definitely early 1900s. All that nice woodwork and transoms over the doors. Nobody has build anything like that since the 1920s. It's a well built building.

      I agree, the design of the rooms look circa 1920's, and it's def been modernized - my guess is in the 50's or 60's.

    I am guessing about the 30's or 40's for the building, it could be older. It has nice door frames, molding, nice little touches. It's too bad it was trashed. I love old places like this with lots of history.

    Great video as always. I wouldn't know how old the architecture of the house would be. I would say the 1930ish. It a beautiful hours thou.

    this is an early 1900's house and the reason is not just the doors always look at the windows. When you see narrow lattice windows you know it is early 1900's. Folk Victorian style and Second Empire style was used a lot in St. Louis especially the North and Laclede area

    Damn, of all the places you've been, this somehow, makes me feel the saddest. IDK WHY... Well, now that I've sat here n thought about it, I see the "Why". Take care, Tony. You are very brave!

    The dresser in the beginning is called a wardrobe. My great aunt gave me one that was 100 years old. I still have it. so now it's at least 133 years old

    I mean no disrespect whatsoever but i never knew about weaves and relaxers etc until i saw that Chris Rock movie- closest we have in Australia now are African style salons where alot of braiding happens. Intetesting. Great vid as always. Cheers.

    Not too sure about the architectural style. Most buildings from the era I think it's from are usually Italiente Revival or Queen Anne (Victorian). Judging by the interior trim and doors, I would say it was built in the late 1800s. The exterior looks almost like from the 1930s. I don't know when they started or stopped using interior trim like that. I live in a town where a lot of the houses and buildings are from the 1880s and they have that type of trim and those panel doors. By the '20s most interior doors had five panels one above the other instead of split into four, two on top and two on the bottom like these doors. I couldn't see any windows, sometimes you can tell the age by those. Focusing on a door knob here or there cand help too. There were two doorways I saw, one up and one down that had arched tops and no trim. Those would be more typical of the 1920s and '30s. Those doorways could have been in walls that were added in that era. The tile in the bathroom looked to be from the '20s also. The building might not have been built with indoor plumbing. If you can see any nails in these buildings, check to see if they're square or round. If they're round, the place was built after 1900 when they started making round nails. If they're square, the building was built prior to 1900.

      I am by no means any kind of expert, but I have a strong interest in architecture. I love being able to see into these old buildings and look beyond the ruin to see what they used to look like. I appreciate what you do.

    Tony, I don't know much, but I thought they were called "Shotgun houses", because they were Sooo long. ?

    • @Kittydoc90
      @Kittydoc90 7 років тому +2

      Rhonda raisin A shotgun house or flat (apartment) is one where you go from one room to another in a straight line like a shotgun barrel from front to rear, with no side rooms or hallways.

      Kittydoc90 Ahhh, good to know the difference, Thanks!

    • @lesakaye6262
      @lesakaye6262 7 років тому +2

      Kittydoc90 Its also called a shotgun house because if you shot a gun from the front, the bullet would travel through every room. Because they're in a shotgun barrel straight line.

    Buy a Nikon D7100 camera to record your videos. They have been out for years and are reasonably priced and are an excellent quality camera for both still pics and videos and you can buy a Rode microphone with a wind cover and mount it up on the hotshoe of the camera. Problem solved for audio and video problem. You can also get a nice stabilizer unit for that camera too, with all the videos you shoot it would quickly pay for itself...

      +Douglas Freebird Photography perhaps. Ad revenue has been very very low. So it may take awhile. I kinda would need to save for one. I much appreciate the tip. If it wouldn't be to much trouble maybe email me a set up suggestion and it'll give me something to work towards.

    When I read the title I started laughing XD "Weaves" I wonder how many nasty girls would take those weaves and wear them like nothing.
    Aside from that the place looks quite interesting. The green kitchen looks like it was from the 70's or maybe 60's
