+Darrell Eidse thanks for watching. I wasn't sure if people dug those...
What a cool BBQ place!! Us Texans love our BBQ.and I want those salt and pepper holders for the grill, lover that you added that.and most importantly congrats on 6000!! You'll hit 10,000 in no time,it's well deserved.
kathy crutcher thanks so much.. ya those holders rock.. we like bbq in st louis too.. never had texas bbq.. had kansas city, stl, Memphis and nashville
Abandoned TattooTonyAlton Exploring it's good of you know where to go 😁
I'd say the place was probably open from 1974 to 1994. It's pretty amazing that the supplies are still on the shelves 23 years later.
Mmmmmm...kippered snacks!!!! Grew up on those as a kid! But ummm...that one is a little too old for me lol. Great video. Can't wait for the next!
+Sheri Ward cool thanks.. I eat nasty stuff too... Love smoked oysters
I go mushroom hunting whenever possible. Found 7 Morels the other day. Thanks for the BBQ Tour. Peace man.
+ZPD Survival cool.. wish i had time to hunt mushrooms.. i found grays a couple weeks ago maybe about 70
Excellent!
Tony it does surprise me at all you have so many subscribers,(me being one of them) :-). all the background info you get on a location, the smooth way you move your camera, the risks you take going to some of these places..oh my! STAY SAFE
+pinacoloda226 thanks.
Great video man. Edmonton is going the same thing. Taking down the old abandon places.
Decay of Alberta you better go there as much as you can asap and film
I got a couple films when I was down there. I going back down this weekend. I'll get a couple more. Plus there in a green on the way I spotted on the way back. When I'm going to get.
That was a very cool video, I love your narration too. Your work has changed so much in the time since you started. Brilliant Tony. xx
+Susan Girling thanks thats a bug compliment..
+Susan Girling big
You are so welcome, you deserve it as you work so hard. xx
Considering how long this place has been abandoned, not much vandalism, it looks like a natural decay for the most part.
AT 17;58 Jose Canseco gets mentioned, he is also, as far as I know, the only player in MLB history that in the process of trying to catch a deep fly ball missed and the ball bounced off his head over the fence for a Home Run since technically it didn't bounce off the turf..
also when i visited ;Cairo, Ill.' a couple of decades ago I was surprised to hear locals pronounce it KAY-ROW. maybe its changed since then but at the time I thought it was funny, kind of like CALLOUS, MAINE, instead of Calais., thanks for all the great videos from a new subscriber.

I miss the old football Cardinals til this day. Rams, not so much
It's good if you know the right place to go to 😁
I just don't get it, not one single Christmas 🎄 item to be seen 🤣 A great little joint, where you could get a snout sandwich, and tripe in a convenient corner location. I bet it was a busy place in it's day, along with the rest of North St Louis. Congrats to you, and Andrew the next 4,000 subs will add up quickly, stay safe!
There was a lil' tabletop X-mas tree propped on a pile of refuse midway thru.
Ha! I missed it, going back to look right now 😁
+Pete Sidewalk ya thats weird no christmas
Kinda makes you wonder did the BBQ their Suck ?? Lol. I saw no Brisket on the menu but may that's more of a Texas BBQ thing. I sure like those St.Louis style Ribs though.
+Steely V1983 think they have a new location and they are supposed to be good. Maybe I'm wrong though. Or maybe the neighborhood was crumbling too much and not enough business.
Abandoned TattooTonyAlton Exploring I was more just trying to be funny. Damn I didn't know the north side was all abandoned I thought it was more the inner city. By the way I can see why you got a lot of Baseball fans I think the Cardinals are a Badass Baseball Team !! I love to watch them play.
Steely V1983 I Know sorry for the literal response
Steely V1983 It was actually pretty good. It was around in the 70s and late 90s

+Michael Coffey thanks appreciate it much
Welcome :)
BBQ'd snoot, anyone?
+TheSWolfe why yes...
This place looks like it was a gas station at one time. On the left part of the building, the area of brown brick surrounding the door looks like it used to have a garage door. I would expect to see two garage doors on a building that size, but who knows? The sink in the second bathroom shown is from at least the late '40s -early '50s. It has that chrome strip around the outside that they used back then. I know health codes vary from state to state, but that kitchen wouldn't meet code in any state. All the wood tables and shelving in the kitchen area would not be allowed. That may be why they closed, couldn't afford to update the place to meet code. After it closed, they may have rented out the lot for parking for other businesses in the area, thus the $5 parking sign. The hexagon shaped bathroom was downright bizarre. Can't imagine why that would have been built like that. The front lobby area was shaped weird too.
greyeaglem cool.. loving your comments
Thank you! I'm loving your videos!
Hi Tony, if this is the same barbecue place that I’m thinking of, then I have driven by there many times during my recent visits to St. Louis. If they were supposed to tear this place down, the city is definitely not in a hurry. Can you confirm if it is still standing? If so, then this is the place where I was thinking.
Standing
Explore Abandoned Places With TattooTonyAlton Awesome, I knew this was the place I was thinking. I always drive by there when I’m in town. Too bad someone can’t restore it and open it up again into a restaurant. The building still appears to be in decent shape.
Where
7th
+deshae richardson awesome.. thanks for watching
Abandoned TattooTonyAlton Exploring no problem
deshae richardson do you live in stl
Abandoned TattooTonyAlton Exploring no i live in Alabama
When the city demolishes a bldg, do they recycle anything or is it just dumped into some landfill with toxins included ?
philip preston Good Question, I'll investigate. I believe this area is being demolished by contractors. I'll ask them, next time.
