This is a warranty repair issue look up Service Bulletin 20-117, for 2016-17 pilots and 2017 ridgeline. American Honda is extending the warranty for the keyless start system on these vehicles to 9 years from the original date of purchase or 125,000 miles, whichever comes first

How do you disable the auto start/stop function from working at the stop lights. My son's 2016 Honda pilot has this feature and he hates it. He wants to disable or bypass it. Enjoy your videos.
Why does the engine stop when you come to a complete stop? Our 2016 Pilot doesn't do that. Also, we're getting the error, so thanks for tutorial on how to replace it.

I just have to rely on the experts. I tap on that switch about 5 times and message on the screen is gone hopefully it stays like that for a long time.

I have this problem, but I don't get the error message....it just doesn't start! I keep trying, and eventually it does start. Sometimes, it doesn't stop immediately as well.

When I changed the starter button it works fine and it’s been a month now the problem existed again… same issue again I changed the key fob battery, car battery is still good. No error issues just starter problem error on dash Any idea guys ??? Help…!thanks

If it's not a factory starter, I believe that's how they are. Kind of sucks , I know.

This may be covered by a warranty extension so check with your Honda dealer. Mine dealer covered it in my four year old Pilot

So no need to reprogram the key after changing it out? My local mechanic told me the key had to be reprogrammed. I have a 2017 pilot.

Brandnreal disconnect the battery for 10 minutes after changing the switch, then reconnect everything and see what happens!!
