At 66, I'm determined to not have to go into long-term care. Working towards 100% carnivore, walking almost every day (now that I am healed from female surgery), check my sugar regularly, attend all of my routine dr appts, drink lots of water and follow a personal spiritual path. I think all of these things would go a long way to preventing having to be taken care of in later years.

I’m retired Army and have been keto for only a year now. I have my undergrad in “Food Science & Human Nutrition “ from UF and never learned any of this (graduated’99). I have more energy and endurance than ever before. I normally begin my workout routine after a 12-14 hour fast and am surprised at how much strength and endurance my body has in those moments. I’m 58 and feel better than when I was in my twenties. Thank you for your medical explanations and support!

First of all thank you for your service. I'm about 3 weeks into this. I've been fairly pure with it with the exception of catching some fresh fish which I just had to fry up and do it proper, and frying unbreaded wings, but it's with bad oil. Figured I might as well use that oil up before cleaning the fryer since I used it on the fish. A couple meals in 3 weeks being fairly new isn't too bad and some things you just need to get out of your system on occasion. I'm in fairly good shape, was in great shape last year but got COVID and it laid my breathing out for several months and had a lot of trouble getting on and off the workout bandwagon again. I always ate close to this, heavy meat, low carb and vegetables. Hardly any direct sugar or soda. Felt like that wouldn't be a huge change but suddenly I'm a little repulsed by meat, which I absolutely love, and definitely having issues with losing appetite. Probably in ketosis and my body doesn't it need much more fat to feed off for now other than the extra I had put on, like he said in the video. Curious if you went through anything like that in the beginning, and was even more curious about how it would affect workout. I always scheduled protein around my workout for muscle gain, but always used isolate protein which comes from plants and is discouraged. Been feeling so weak lately, trying to get my BP down that was already a problem, and the high heart rate and palpitations that can come with electrolyte imbalance. Got the keto chow minerals and hopefully that will balance me out. That shit is hardcore man! Sounds like you have energy for your workout after the fast like I do every day to begin with but I wondered if you were finding it any more difficult to maintain or build muscle from not having a quick release protein source in the window right after workout for maximum absorption. Thanks for any input my friend. Definitely struggling and feel like I'm on speed for the last week and a half, and I don't play games with that sort of stuff to begin with. But I have put the time in so far and I know I need to continue giving it a chance because my body needs some serious healing. No gallbladder so I know that makes that absorption harder, been on disability forever a decade with bad back enjoying issues, and my heart definitely needs some healing. I've read articles where some people just struggle a lot harder at this in the beginning than others and some always struggle with it but it seems worth it to finally get some real health and try to get off some of the medications I'm on

@@ActivateMission2ThisTimeline Yeah, I would definitely love to find a real butcher or a place where I can buy a quarter cow or something like that and get it fresh. I'm realizing it doesn't cost as much as you would think to do this diet even though meat is expensive. Not spending money on all the vegetables and everything I used to prepare them. I do a ton of cooking and got no problem with getting fancy with it. Pretty simple with this diet. Sometimes too simple but I'm getting used to it

Thank God I'll have room to buy a small drop freezer just like you said. When you find good meat on sale, you have to stock up big time for this diet. I want to reduce if not stop inflammation ( that also is in my brain causing Depression). I LOVE how you encourage us, not having to be perfect overnight. Other youtubers do make me feel like a failure❗️because I get these intense cravings usually at 10 pm. ( I go to bed at 12) And I have given in and eaten wheat carbohydrates about 4 times in the last 2 weeks.
I have managed to cut down the sugar in my tea from 2 and a half teaspoons to 1 teaspoon, and am drinking half the number of cups of tea I used to.

The difference this has made in my life can hardly be articulated. I now walk briskly 3 to 5 miles a day and workout 3 to 4 times a week. I have never been in better shape. It took about 3 months before I started losing weight and seeing my body composition change. I actually look firm and a bit muscular. Not bad for an old mother of 3! This is for JandS. When I need to get my elderly parents to listen to me about something. I usually am very Blunt. I would say something like do you like being able to see? Do you want to go blind? If not then you need to do such-and-such. I have to do this with my mother because I needed to get her moving after she was ill during COVID. She sat around in her pajamas and never got dressed or went outside. So I asked her if she wanted to go into assisted living because that's where she was headed if she didn't get her butt up and start moving. Though she is now 95 She is back to getting up and dressed. And doing activities at the main building where she lives. And her health is much better. Sometimes we need to be Blunt about things to get people to take action.

Lol I get most of the household stuff from Walmart and various other little things (oh and bacon!) and go to the grocery store or meat market for most of my meat. That allows me to bypass all the other "food" aisles in the grocery store and shop the perimeter.

I can tell you from experience this isn’t the case I have spastic, diplegia, cerebral palsy, and utilize a wheelchair for my mobility. Since adopting a proper human diet, I have drastically improved my mobility and move movement is limited, but much easier Now as Dr. Barry has said nutrition is the corner stone of your health.

01:30 I've had this problem, but I was actually given an answer. That's happens when you come to get your blood drawn in the morning and you think that fasting also means not drinking water (yes, I didn't drink any). Next time I drank one or two glasses before coming to get it drawn, and it went very smoothly. I think the serum gets thicker if you don't drink enough.
Also, one time they couldn't draw my blood as I felt bad and was anxious. My blood vessels tightened up.

I’ve been carnivore for around three months now I am on hormone replacement therapy. I am a heart attack survivor at a young age. My hormone numbers are through the roof at about 700% higher than December’s lab work numbers. I am having an issue with sending blood, though, I am on a low-dose aspirin for my previous heart attack and stent placement, and wonder if it is recommended I go off that low-dose aspirin as, I’m having a hard time clotting? I appreciate everything you do and love this journey. They carry.

I mean no disrespect when I ask, but when you did keto, were you actually in ketosis? Most people think of keto as a list of foods and not a metabolic state. Also, you can move to carnivore and still not be in ketosis. I would definitely incorporate fasting, as well. You have to get your insulin low enough long enough that your body can let go of its fat stores, and you want to be in ketosis, so your body is turning its own fat into ketones, which means you also have to stop eating long enough, so you use your body fat and not the fat you’re eating.
Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramas talk about when people are really insulin resistant, it often takes a few months of alternate day fasting, meaning eating every other day to get insulin low enough long enough to start burning fat.
You may know all of this already, so, again, I mean no disrespect.
