@@KevinKolbe I appreciate all your effort and the knowledge and suggestions you impart. You’re channel has picked up so much momentum so quickly and you’ve earned every bit of your success. I used my channel to post some quick shorts for a while for fun but I don’t really know what to do with it at this point. I just can’t figure out an area I’d like to cover. Great advice. We are over 50 years old with a very small channel. So far most of the comments have been positive, great interaction with our viewers, however , we’ve had a couple of individuals that all they did was criticize and insult us. Thankfully we were able to delete comments and hide those viewers. Worked great. Love your content 🥰
Hi Kevin, Peter from Denmark here. I started my channel a little over a year ago and it's going great. I've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback I get from my viewers and so far i've been fortunate enough to not have any really negative comments, well maybe a few minor ones but as you say, I forget about them quickly. I do have one "troll" that just likes to debate and oppose my views, but I know who it is now and I know not to engage with that person. Now I usually just write "thank you for your comment" and move on. UA-cam seems to encourage you to answer all comments as they leave un-answered ones on your dashboard in the Studio app, which I think is fine. I want to answer everyone too. But for the negative ones, to get them off the dashboard, I just do the "thank you for your comment" and don't engage any further. So far I have not had to delete or hide anyone 🤞🏻again, 99% of my comments are positive which is just encouraging and inspiring.
I love this! I've always hung with the older crowd; 12 years old, I hung with no one younger than 18 - old soul. I have to agree: EXPERIENCE SELLS! EXPERIENCE HELPS! Great video
All comments are great comments as long as they are appropriate. I respond and have fun especially with the negative. I welcome the interaction! Stay Positive! Stay Active! Stay Awesome!
Hi Kevin. You say in this video that you don’t inspire, but you do. You have inspired me. I have just now commenced my first video on my UA-cam channel. It’s way outside of my comfort zone as a quiet, reserved 61yo man. I’m tired and burnt out with my profession, and have been for a long time. I’m wanting to take my career in a different direction into my retirement years. I have 30.+ years of experience as a psychologist, and like to think that I can still be helpful to the greater community. Well done to you Kevin. I think you can teach me a lot. Oh. I’m from Australia.
Really appreciate you sharing that! Glad to hear it lit a 🔥 for you to start! And I'd totally agree you do have something, a lot of somethings to offer. Thanks for watching.
This is what I needed this morning. Negative comments in the past have made me feel like quitting or overthinking my video style, but I have built a thick skin and won't respond to negative comments. I welcome constructive criticism as long as it is meant to help me grow as a creative person. I have found that creating a successful YT channel is a marathon and not a race and I'm still learning how to make better content.
I love the way you go about responding. I've always done it the same way. I had 1 video (short) with over 6 million views and i managed to respond to every comment. That was a tiring month LOL. Most were awesome comments but some were sooo bad! Thank you for this video. Keep being awesome 🙂👊
This channel has helped me a lot not just in terms of UA-cam but how to live life. I’m in my twenties and I really appreciate your channel and your positivity.
If you would like your channel grow, then comments are part of this growth. For positive comments I will respond with thanks, glad the video was helpful etc. Honestly, I have probably learned more from the negative comments, but they can be tough to read. I learned this several years ago. I always just respond with " Thanks for the feedback" I started my channel at 54 and I'm now in my 60's and I have found for the most part my community is very kind. If a comment is really bad I just delete it and move forward.
Great topic. When you get into the habit of responding to comments for engagement, sometimes it's hard to ignore the negative. You have to CONCENTRATE to keep it positive!
🖐 Feefee's here Im happy to get comments. I say bring on the negative comments. It's going to make me stronger. Everyone is not on the same page and that's ok. I enjoy your content. Thank you so much
Thank you from Australia!! I'm still trying to decide which way to go with my channel as I'm in my 40s, a health professional about to become homeless and live in my car with my 2 dogs. The potential for negative comments and judgement gives me so much anxiety but I want to help those who may be facing the same issues of mental health while trying to make a living. Thank you for the encouragement and advice on all your videos on how to get started. ✨️✨️✨️
I enjoy comments. Our channel is young, so I can still keep up, but it is fun. I love the people that come back and have discussions on multiple videos. One thing that has benefited our channel is doing videos on the comments people make and even trying to do what people suggest in the comments. Viewers love that and so do we. It also makes coming up with new ideas easy. We have already learned a lot from our viewers. So far we get very few negative comments so I am waiting, most of the negative comments have actually helped our channel. I am sure there are trolls heading our way. I like to visualize them as just that: trolls. Thanks for all your great videos. You have really helped us.
Kevin I appreciate you and your advice. I posted a short, which was just for my family and friends, but I failed to set it to unlisted. It was me kind of 'whining' about changing spark plugs in my SUV. I didn't like the extra steps involved to reach the ones on the back side of the engine. ANYWAY the video received almost 7000 views OVERNIGHT, 20 comments, 182 likes and 10 dislikes. I say all that to say this, what you state around 8:45, negative to be negative is accurate. I clicked every user name of those negative comments to investigate what you also stated. Did they have a channel, what was their content like, etc.. I was surprised to see a mixed bag. One guy had a VERY successful channel, as far as views and subscribers and what he wrote just indicated to me he wasn't happy and was arrogant. The rest of the negative comments I'd place in that 'just here to complain' bucket. There have been negative comments on some of my videos that were awkward attempts to 'educate' me. I've had some downright nasty comments, and as long as there isn't any cursing or personal attacks, I RESPOND to them by asking clarifying questions in a polite non defensive way. I ALWAYS wait a day or two before doing so. Sometimes I just let them be. BTW, accept the fact you inspire people brother. Its a good thing, especially in this day and age. God bless!
I appreciate you and the words and quite frankly how you share yourself with us. I’m over 50 and new to the UA-cam community with my channel, and to see others in our group it is inspiring. Just wanted to thank you and have been subbed up for a bit with your channel. Appreciate you
As someone who only has a handful of content, compared to most, and very few (if any followers); when I had my first couple of 'negative comments' on my 'shorts', it felt like a badge of honour! 😂 I just ignore them.
Watching your video as a creator who has just moved from creating visual tutorials without me even speaking let alone my face due to anxiety - to creating face-on UA-cam Shorts with computing tips over the last week. It's not been anywhere near as 'scary' as I had for years anticipated it would be! My confidence is slowly growing as I see some of them get lots of views and a few likes and others get few views and 0 likes and I don't know why the difference. But I have enough confidence from the popular ones to continue creating Shorts in the coming days and weeks. Thanks for your advice (from 50+ creator). Julia the PC GP
Hi Kevin! So impressed with your channel. When I subscribe, information is one thing, the other is the speaker themself - how I admire their fire, their demeanor, happiness, genuineness. I learn from how they burn, emit light, derive joy just because they have something to give. So, thankful new subscriber here! Cheers.
Kevin thank you very much for your encouraging and insightful videos. I am 57 and you have inspired me to take the plunge. I've been looking into getting into streaming and I happened upon your video. It was the inspiration that I needed. God Bless you and thank you for using your gifts!
Yap, I'm always excited when I have a new comment, so I answer them all, even negative comments. I just wish I had the time to do more videos. Greetings from Lima Peru again
I am in the UK and found your channel at the time I was just starting my UA-cam channel (perfect timing). As much as you don't like the word, you fo inspire. Keep up the good work 😃
Relatively new to try to share on UA-cam. I’ve got a ways to go. I have a decent following on another platform. It doesn’t take long to figure out those that offer creative criticism versus those that just want to tear you down. They sting at first but you get used to it. I always welcome creative criticism because it helps you get better. People that just try and be mean, be insulting, and try to tear you down for no reason don’t deserve your attention. I appreciate your videos! Keep up the good work! They’ve been super helpful!
You are kind & courteous. That goes a long way. Abusive comments are so unnecessary. Hurtful nonsense. If that’s what you need to boost yourself you’ve got bigger issues than you think. Sad.
From Texas here, and I had one of your videos pop into my feed and I've been hooked since. I'm 53 and I'm starting over with a new UA-cam channel with renewed focus. I appreciate your insights and I also appreciate how you include your faith with your content. Also the comment about the Inspire wall hanging had me laughing out loud. I noticed that in the previous video as well. Thanks for your encouragement and here is to future success.
This is a great topic, and timely for me! I am a creator over 40, with a family and a full time career… sometimes those negative comments can really make you question why you are doing this. There are far more positive comments then negative but holy smokes do those negative ones stick out like a sore thumb 😂
There is wisdom in your comments. Another great video with good advice. We have our channel created but there's no content and won't be for a while. Your advice has helped us to rethink and perhaps helped to fucus how we will present content. Originally, I was thinking we'd do about 10 to 12 minutes per episode with 2-3 chapters in each. Now, I'm leaning more into shorter episodes on single topics. Looking forward to more sage advice. Oh, BTW I'm a volunteer moderator on a platform and very much aware of how people can be online and about moderating based on basic principles. I also follow channels who have needed to bring on 'staff' in order to address many aspects, or they literally spend many hours daily with engagement in the comments.
Nice to hear that! You can always try both types of creating too. Especially starting out, its great to experiment and see what works for you and viewers too. Thanks for watching!
Great video this came across my feed and decided to watch .I’m a 67 year old doing some videos and your right every time I get a negative comment it’s always some one with no content thanks for sharing 👋 from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Hi, thanks for the great info. I’m totally on board with being interested in where people are from when the post comments. Kind of neat to hear from someone on the other side of the world. British Columbia
Kevin, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am in that struggle. I like to teach and share my knowledge and experience but I also like to connect, like you say. But mine is a how to channel.
A lot of great advice there Kevin, much appreciated. I notice you have a lot of comic book covers posted in your background! Do you collect comic books yourself? As a comic book enthusiast myself, it's nice to see that on your wall - especially the Golden Age stuff!
Kevin I've had a YT channel for many years but was never really serious about it, but now I'm 62 and would like to retire from my day job and started thinking of YT more serious and a potential source of supplemental income. I stumbled on your channel today and will be subscribing to learn more. My talents and skills as you say are more hands on stuff and building things. as You mentioned in another video "if i had to do 30 minutes on something with no notice" I thought of dozens of things I could do that so Thanks for that insight.
Here‘s a fan 59 yrs. old from Germany - your work really encourages me to start a channel and I hope get the first one out within a week or so. Thank you and please keep it up. 💐👏
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months and you have inspired me to start a channel. Currently working on my second video, comments aren’t an issue at the moment ;) This is great advice for all social media. Thanks for all the advice 😊
Love the content man thanks, I started a youtube channel as a over 40s gamer, as anyone can see from the history of my channel shorts or long I tend to reply to every comment don't think I've missed many, I think you are privileged to get comments no matter the size of the channel so will always reply, thanks for advice in certain videos I try take in bits and adopt where I can, take care
I don't usually leave a comment but this video deserved it. Hi, I'm from brasil and living in Portugal now. I am 30y and have watched a lot of your videos already. I'm struggling to start on youtube for 4 years now. I know that problably people who are older than me are going to think "oh you don't have any problems just do it", but the fear of cristicism is bigger specially for being younger. But I have to say that you Kelvin really encourages me and I promise I'm going to do it this time. For good or for bad. Thank you and God bless you.
Just got to get started. Don’t let the fear of not being perfect hold you back because your skills will keep improving as long as you don’t stop. You got this!
I make sure i comment back on every comment. UNLESS it is negative and not helpful to the channel, other people commenting on the video or not being constructive in the video content. I respond the comments that I want. Constructive critics are ok and I respond. get huge engagement in this way almost all videos. I think this is why. People know I will respond and care that they are watching and have an opinion. Goes a long way. Found your channel a bit ago. I like your approach on the UA-cam subject! Cheers from Junk's Automotive
Heya, over-40 gamer here. This video is well timed, as I had recently just had to deal with some really toxic comments for the first time in almost a year of having the channel active. I didn't think it was going to bother me as much as it did, but it's a lesson that I needed to learn for sure. I am just really glad that most of the comments I get are positive, including a whole lot of very supportive ones so that is great. It turns out that this individual left a comment that got auto-moderated by UA-cam, then they took it out on me thinking I was singling them out even though I didn't even know they had left the initial comment until I went in and checked under the "held for review" section and there were about 5 more by this same individual in there. But it has taken some work on my part to keep those bad comments from getting into my head.
The insight into the psychology (yours and viewers') behind comments is pretty interesting. Thanks. I'm 60, retired 5 years ago and currently live in a ramshackle old house in the boonies on the Western slope of the Sierra Nevada. I usually consume content about travel, roadtrips, backpacking and hiking...outdoorsy stuff (and art history, the opera, music from the 1970's....). The UA-cam elves recommended one of your videos to me a few days ago. I watched a few more (mini-binge) and, I admit you kinda got to me thinking about making and sharing some videos. I made a list of goals, what would I hope to accomplish by "doing UA-cam" ... and as a by-product of doing that I realized that the expectation or desire to make money, might cause people (me) to become disappointed, discouraged and give up. There is so much emphasis on "grow your channel", viewer-retention, subscriber count, etc...all good but, if/when those things don't happen, what keeps you going? Why keep rolling the stone up the hill? What goals can one have that will keep them going even when "nobody's listening"?
It is important to at least try to acknowledge some comments. It make the viewer feel better. Any inappropriate comments just don't acknowledge them or delete couldn't care less
Posted my first video last night. I have already learned so much about myself and what improvements I know I need to make. Even though the only view so far was probably me. Just start friends! Thank you, Kevin, for the encouragement.
Hi Kevin, I just started my UA-cam channel yesterday and my firm intention is that if I'll receive negative offensive comments that cross the line, I'm just going to ignore and delete them. However, if the comments are constructive and can actually help me improving myself and the channel I will take them into consideration. Congrats on your channel, I just discovered it and subscribed!👊🙂
Love this! I want to start my UA-cam channel. Have been talking about it for years 😊 Not sure where to start but think I'll just start! Thankyou for your motivation videos! Here from Australia btw 😊❤
Thanks for sharing, If the fear of starting a channel is the comments, then turn it off until you can overcome it. I have had many negative comments in life, and just look and smile for life is to short to respond to negativity. We need positive energy and when negativity comes my way I will either just ignore or just reply with a Positive reply that may help that person one day.
Beautiful: God defines me, nobody else does. You have a very warm and positive way of encouraging. Sometimes this is what we need !! 🤗 so many comments here ... uff 🤠
We try to respond to every comment on our channel. Our little channel has brought alot of joy to people's lives. We get 99.9% positive comments, but every now and again we do get a negative one. The down side of our negative comments is the insulting ones. But, if we get negative ones we either ignore them, delete them (if they are insutling) or respond with "Thanks for watching." We have the mentality that having "haters" is a sign that you have made it.
I am so happy to find your channel. It makes me feel better. I recently started couple channel and since my boyfriend is Korean I face some not nice comments about his body language. I am personally very strong when it comes to negative comments, but I don't want my boyfriend to be discouraged and feel hurt. People can be cruel with words without thinking too much. I always try to be kind, and I know that will always win over any negative comment.
I have been on youtube for the last 6 years. My main Channel is going through and addressing contradictions in the Bible. I am finding that the more views my videos get, the more Comments of people trying to prove me wrong. Which is great, don't get me wrong. This is what I expected and am fine with this, however, each comment is an Essay. It would take me hours to read and unpack what this person is saying and then reply to each and every point they are making. Then times this by hundreds and I literally can't answer them all. Also even if I do, I get another Essay of comments back. The more I grow the more I drown in comments. Again, I am not complaining that people are commenting and it is healthy. I just can't physically reply. I feel bad for not replying, but I can't. Also as an aside I have restarted my second channel for over 50s on UA-cam. Now that I have started, I find you. I just want to say thankyou, you are doing amazing and have given me courage that I am on the right track with this. Thanks, Craig PS I am from Australia
One way to look at long comments, the content touched someone in some way to write as much as they did. Like your comment. Thanks for sharing. Hey from the US.
I really appreciate your encouragement to us all. I want to start a UA-cam channel, but scared to death of lack of success due to life experience. But, I am getting closer.
Hi Kevin. I'm Pushing 60 Or though I like to think of myself like a tree. I just get up and get on with the next season..My channel is 5 months old now and sprouting new subscribers now and then. But I just enjoy what I do, both out there in the elements and Yes Im starting to enjoy the editing to. Getting lots from your advice but mainly I just like your vibe.. Keep doing what you do buddy and Thank you. From the South West of the UK
@@KevinKolbe I appreciate your encouragement. I work hard to make my videos and they are still not taking off. But I enjoy making them. My wife thinks it will eventually
Great video Kevin. I also agree, life is too short…I never give a thumbs down. I invariably give a video a like and if I comment, it is always positive. If I don’t like a video, I stop watching it and go to something else. I’m originally from Birmingham England. But I have lived in Asia for a long time. Singapore is my home.
I agree. I do try to get back to comments if somebody has watched a video and posted a legitimate question. I of course welcome everybody to my content but of course my target audience is someone who is like me 10 or 15 years ago when I make videos that I know a younger version of me would have enjoyed.
Another very inspired video😍 Thanks, Kevin🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just so you know, my daughter is 28 and after I shared with her some of your videos, she took on board your advices and she's going to become a creator! Isn't that awesome? She's been a VFX artist and animator for the last four years for a game company, and she thought that had nothing interesting to say. Can you believe it? By the way, I'm a Brazilian immigrant in Aotearoa🥰
I've noticed that nasty comments can tear me up if my own foundation is weak and vulnerable, if I'm already doubting myself or what I'm doing. Hiding the comment and moving on will only go so far. I will mull the words over until I'm firm on my own foundation. It the trolls are tearing down the fortress, then build a stronger fortress.
Hey Kevin! I have quite some experience with trolls and negative/horrible comments on socials. I find that UA-cam is NOTHING compared to the level of cruelty, of deep disrespect, of gratuitous criticism that I found on TikTok. At the beginning it was hurtful. But then I got desensitised and, when I get mean comments now, I pity that person. If they feel the urge to be evil on a keyboard, towards a struggling special needs mum...well, they must be very lonely, very sad people. I hope this helps others too! Pity those trolls, because if they had a fulfilling life, they would spend their time otherwise!
I am 73 (over 40!) and will start a flosstube soon. I am waiting for something to be finished, which I cannot control. I once knew someone who, while driving through a parking lot, waited for a woman to cross in front of him. He said to me, "Shoot me if I ever get that fat." I didn't answer. He was twice her size! He just couldn't be happy if he didn't see others as worse than him. Sad. I think you do a great job and you've been a big help to me. BTW...Phoenix, AZ
I’m afraid of the potential of someone who may threaten a creator or me if I create. But I think UA-cam doesn’t allow that and will investigate that and them. Yes, there are people who get a thrill from hurting snd upsetting others. Just for the pleasure of seeing someone hurt, and it’s sad and sick, but you’re right. You can’t let it sit with you.
When I get a real nasty comment I pin it to the top and let my fans do the rest it’s great for interaction and the algorithm game. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often 👍
I've gotten a few negative comments but after I thought about them and before I reacted to a couple of them, they actually made a valid point and actually helped me. So I changed a couple of things or at least have tried. You should always listen/read what they have to say, think about what they said, then think about it some more before you respond. You may learn something that will help improve your videos OR, there just isn't anything to say that is appropriate so what I do is just "heart" the comment and say, "thank you for watching". A LOT of people just want attention and if you feed into it, they won. So just smile and move on 🙂
For the most part I respond to every comment myself except for trolls. Sometimes I do but most times I don't respond. I had one video though that was over 11 thousand comments and there is just no way.
@KevinKolbe sadly with those 11k comments tons of trolls came in and man so many were just plain awful! I guess it comes with the territory but it is a shame so many are so unkind.
I know I said this in a previous comment but I'm going to leave another just in case anyone else reads this.

WOAH. That's amazing! Yeah, it takes time but I (try) and manage it best I can.
This channel has helped me a lot not just in terms of UA-cam but how to live life. I’m in my twenties and I really appreciate your channel and your positivity.
Glad to hear it!
So true!
🖐 Feefee's here
Im happy to get comments. I say bring on the negative comments. It's going to make me stronger. Everyone is not on the same page and that's ok. I enjoy your content. Thank you so much
Me too 😂😂😂😂
Well said!
Look negative will come regardless what we do. Create for the others who need you and don't sweat the trolls. :)
@KevinKolbe you're absolutely right!! Thank you
I enjoy comments.
Yeah, a lot of my videos come from viewer comments and ideas.
God bless!
Thanks so much for sharing that!
I appreciate you and the words and quite frankly how you share yourself with us. I’m over 50 and new to the UA-cam community with my channel, and to see others in our group it is inspiring. Just wanted to thank you and have been subbed up for a bit with your channel. Appreciate you
I really appreciate that, thank you so much!
Under 40 leaving a comment over here!! 🙋🏻♀️ thank you for all you do!!
Yay! Thank you!
Cheers.
Wow, really appreciate that a lot. Thanks!
Kevin thank you very much for your encouraging and insightful videos. I am 57 and you have inspired me to take the plunge. I've been looking into getting into streaming and I happened upon your video. It was the inspiration that I needed. God Bless you and thank you for using your gifts!
Woooo-hooooo! Thanks!
Yap, I'm always excited when I have a new comment, so I answer them all, even negative comments. I just wish I had the time to do more videos. Greetings from Lima Peru again
Thanks for sharing. Hey from the US.
@KevinKolbe Great.. If u wanna jump over Lima anytime, let me know! I'll show you the sites
I am in the UK and found your channel at the time I was just starting my UA-cam channel (perfect timing). As much as you don't like the word, you fo inspire. Keep up the good work 😃
thank you so much.
Totally agree. Even at 63, I'm still learning so bring on the helpful critiques!
You are kind & courteous. That goes a long way. Abusive comments are so unnecessary. Hurtful nonsense. If that’s what you need to boost yourself you’ve got bigger issues than you think. Sad.
True
Very good constructive and positive message…thank you!
Appreciate that, thanks!
Just found your channel yesterday. Maybe your 40k you landed on put you in my queue. Either way new subscriber here. Enjoying the content. Thank you.
Thanks!
Appreciate that, thanks!
This is a great topic, and timely for me! I am a creator over 40, with a family and a full time career… sometimes those negative comments can really make you question why you are doing this. There are far more positive comments then negative but holy smokes do those negative ones stick out like a sore thumb 😂
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for sharing that. Hey from the US
Hi, thanks for the great info.
Bro...you do connect by sharing the wealth of knowledge you have!
I appreciate your kind vibe. Great channel and content.
I appreciate that!
A lot of great advice there Kevin, much appreciated. I notice you have a lot of comic book covers posted in your background! Do you collect comic books yourself? As a comic book enthusiast myself, it's nice to see that on your wall - especially the Golden Age stuff!
I collected for a long time but stopped several years ago. Love the older ones too!
I posted my first video today and I have been nervous about this but I decide to just go for it anyway. Thank you for sharing, very honest
Let's go!
Thank you!! I am excited to get started and have my own comments to respond to
Kevin I've had a YT channel for many years but was never really serious about it, but now I'm 62 and would like to retire from my day job and started thinking of YT more serious and a potential source of supplemental income. I stumbled on your channel today and will be subscribing to learn more. My talents and skills as you say are more hands on stuff and building things. as You mentioned in another video "if i had to do 30 minutes on something with no notice" I thought of dozens of things I could do that so Thanks for that insight.
Nice!
Just found your channel, I'm early in the 40's and I really want to open a channel, thanks for the advise. Thanks for the value that you share.
Just do it... blessings 😊
The growth on this channel is insane I feel it was just a few months ago you announced 20k subs. Wow. Congrats. Mike
Agree...but a good kinda crazy! 😁
Here‘s a fan 59 yrs. old from Germany - your work really encourages me to start a channel and I hope get the first one out within a week or so. Thank you and please keep it up. 💐👏
You can do it!
@@KevinKolbe ❤️
Your videos are very inspirational. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you
Great advice, thank you 😊
Hey Kevin, Kev here over 40 here. I may be old but I'm not dead ~ 63yo living the dream!
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months and you have inspired me to start a channel. Currently working on my second video, comments aren’t an issue at the moment ;) This is great advice for all social media. Thanks for all the advice 😊
Appreciate that. Agree you could take these tips beyond UA-cam as well. Thanks!
Appreciate it. Agree, I'm always flattered when anyone takes any time to comment. Like you! Thanks!
Thank you so much! All the way from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Way cool. Hey from the US.
You are inspiring and have given me courage to try. Thank you!!!
Wonderful!
Because you are DA MAN, Kevin Kolbe!! 👊
Awwwww.
Go for it!
Thanks for sharing!
I've been very lucky so far. I've gotten only a couple of weird comments, nothing too negative...yet. I'm sure it's coming.
Glad it helped. Thanks for sharing.
Great advice, Kevin. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the inspiration and information, I'm in my mid 60s and just starting a UA-cam journey.
Go for it!
I’ve had some negative comments lately - but the positive always outweighs the negative 🫶🏼
True that.
Posted my first video last night. I have already learned so much about myself and what improvements I know I need to make. Even though the only view so far was probably me. Just start friends! Thank you, Kevin, for the encouragement.
Wonderful!
This helps a lot!
Good to hear that, thanks.
Good tips!
Love this! I want to start my UA-cam channel. Have been talking about it for years 😊
Not sure where to start but think I'll just start! Thankyou for your motivation videos!
Here from Australia btw 😊❤
Just starting is the way to do it. If you need some help with what you talk about, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/jxJB3CBHmLA/v-deo.html
I monitor my comments and put on hold to verify before publishing them.. Get rid of the unnecessary garbage 😁👍🏻
Thanks for sharing,
If the fear of starting a channel is the comments, then turn it off until you can overcome it.
I have had many negative comments in life, and just look and smile for life is to short to respond to negativity.
We need positive energy and when negativity comes my way I will either just ignore or just reply with a Positive reply that may help that person one day.
Thank you so much! And thanks for sharing the wise words too.
@KevinKolbe "Thank You" for taking the time to make the amazing content and, most of all, replying back. 🫂
Beautiful: God defines me, nobody else does. You have a very warm and positive way of encouraging. Sometimes this is what we need !! 🤗 so many comments here ... uff 🤠
Appreciate that, thank you.
Good tips!
Thanks for making this kind of video
Thanks, Craig
PS I am from Australia
One way to look at long comments, the content touched someone in some way to write as much as they did. Like your comment. Thanks for sharing. Hey from the US.
I really appreciate your encouragement to us all. I want to start a UA-cam channel, but scared to death of lack of success due to life experience. But, I am getting closer.
There are no guarantees except, if you don't start, no one will ever know what you had to share.
I agree mate POSITIVE comments are awesome......Haters are just Keyboard warriors lol great vid man - Auckland New Zealand.......
"Keyboard Warriors" like that but only for the good guys! 😁
Also your audience will take up for you. Most of the time you dont have to answer them because they beat you to it. 😊
That is so true too and a nice bonus!
@@KevinKolbe Yes it is

@@KevinKolbe I appreciate your encouragement. I work hard to make my videos and they are still not taking off. But I enjoy making them. My wife thinks it will eventually

Glad you enjoyed it! Hey from the US.
35 and came to say YOU ARE THE BEST. I look like I'm 20 though - so in 5 years - ill look 25 but FB wont want me because I'm 40 wow lol
any neg comment i get. i reply thank you for watching. i appreciate it.
Good tips. Hey from the US.
That is SO cool! Thank you so much for sharing that! Tell her to just start and have fun!
@@KevinKolbe will do 🙏🏼☺️
I've noticed that nasty comments can tear me up if my own foundation is weak and vulnerable, if I'm already doubting myself or what I'm doing. Hiding the comment and moving on will only go so far. I will mull the words over until I'm firm on my own foundation. It the trolls are tearing down the fortress, then build a stronger fortress.
Oh, I like that!
Its a shame you've experience that but thanks for sharing too.
Thank you, your videos inspire me❤
Thank you!
Yes, any threatening behavior should be reported immediately to UA-cam and local authorities. Never take threats serious at all.
I think you’re great! I watch all of your videos 😊
You're the best!
When I get a real nasty comment I pin it to the top and let my fans do the rest it’s great for interaction and the algorithm game. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often 👍
I like that
I've gotten a few negative comments but after I thought about them and before I reacted to a couple of them, they actually made a valid point and actually helped me.
Dang that's a lot!
@KevinKolbe sadly with those 11k comments tons of trolls came in and man so many were just plain awful! I guess it comes with the territory but it is a shame so many are so unkind.
I'm my worst critic. I post stuff anyway but people can't say anything that'll hurt me worse than what I already told myself. Hehe
I am watching your video from Cape Town, South Africa 😊
Nice! Hey from the US.
watching from the Philippines! hello hello!

Thank you I started my channel I will be 60 next month and also comment on all mine and had a few bad ones I got to figure out how to hide 😁😁😁😁
