Honestly I think these people are just grifters. They don't know how to grow channels, or more specifically your channel. They know how to generate clicks in their field. They basically repackage the same 5 or 6 videos over and over again, then string you along in the videos with flashy editing and charts and such, but end up falling way short on delivering much for substance. Most of it is common sense. What's really funny is that you can see small creators trying to do this too, I guess it's a "fake it until you make it" strategy. You're much better off learning about audio, or lighting or editing techniques and things like that. I run an educational cooking channel myself, and I'm just focused on getting better each time, and realize it's a long game. I really enjoyed this video, it's well put together. I can't be the only one who thinks these people are just scammers.
Exactly!! It's the same advice over and over just packaged differently. And in a couple of months just about all of their advice changes and then they want us to do things totally different. And all of the smaller channels watching their videos like a hawk trying to find out the next best way to succeed on UA-cam is why their channels are doing so well while our channels are struggling. Honestly I don't see much difference in my titles and thumbnails from those videos with thousands even millions of views. All of my thumbnails are clear and my titles tell what the video is about. I mean unless you are brain dead you should be able to figure it out just by looking and reading. I realize reading is fundamental but dang!
As someone who has a channel with over 37 million long form views (not this one, this is just for commenting) I can confirm that most UA-cam advice is well intended, but misleading. When I started a second channel in the same niche I was getting much better click through rates and retention on my new second channel the the main one, yet none of the videos were taking off. Average views on main channel is about 160k per video and on second channel about 4k, despite much better metrics. I think the videos on my second channel are better based on what I've learned over the years, yet the algorithm doesn't push them. So there's definitely more to it than the metrics everyone is saying you need to improve. Thanks for sharing your video. 😊 Ps. My best advice for success. Ignore the "keep going you will make it one day" crap. I made 3 channels before I had success with one. Find a niche where the small channels are getting more views than they have subscribers. Then make your mark in that niche. If most channels in a niche are getting less views than they have subscribers, it's over saturated, and you stand little chance.
@@Destined2Recover Maybe it's because the niche he is doing doesn't match with channel he's using to comment on but the advice at the end is bogus. That's not a good metric to go off of. A lot goes into play about what makes a channel successful, not just the view to sub ratio. So what if the channel is getting less views than subscribers? How often do you actually see a channel with 50k subs or more getting more than 50k views on each video? Complete BS advice and if you follow that silly suggestion your options are going to be SEVERELY limiting. You do need to follow your passion, despite what anyone else says, because that's the only way you will stick with it long enough. You need to do something to stand out for sure. But if you listen to this guys advice you most likely WON'T stand a chance.
@yogadaily9864 Thanks. I understand what you are saying. I've come to understand that my channel will never have a lot of subscribers, but that is ok. I just want to reach people who are going through the struggles I went through in active addiction. And let them know it's possible to make it into recovery. I don't have a niche, so my channel will never really have an audience for the algorithm to find. Thanks for your reply I always wondered why people commented about having a huge channel yet used the other account to post the comment lol.
I appreciate the video. As a small content creator...I have reached those diminishing returns! There are channels doing waaaaaaaay better than me whom I feel my thumbnails are better, my editing, and even content, but somehow it doesnt work for me. I just came to realise that all I have to do is keep going, my time might come...or not...but we keep going!
This is great content. Love your low key humor. I was once subscribed to vidIQ and actually got a critique during a livestream. I think his name is Dan and he watched 10 seconds of a video and told me I need to work on my editing and I try too hard on my thumbnails. He mentioned a channel in my niche and told me to copy what they do. I couldn’t block and unsubscribe fast enough.
What really upsets me is that I know some people who, out of sheer luck, managed to get one of their videos viral and boosted the growth of their channels, and then proceeded as if it’s all purely their own doing. They went as far as saying that it’s “your fault” if your video doesn’t get viral because you’re not making good enough content, as if the number of views is the definitive way to objectively measure a video’s quality. I’ve seen a lot of UA-camrs who used to create humble videos, got viral, then turned into massive egomaniac with the “if I can do it, why can’t you? I did it” type of mindset. One of them even recommended me to pay for a UA-cam course that they themself didn’t need because apparently I’m doing UA-cam “the wrong way”. We used to make the same type of content, but then they uploaded a video that’s completely different, got viral, and then snapped and turned into a business strategist overnight.
I got tired of the whole chasing success and metrics thing a bit ago now. Like you, I've been told I'm old fashioned and am making content the "wrong way." I make the content I'd wanna watch, after all. Also- hey Kalitayy! How do I always end up running into you on random small channels I get recommended?! Lol.
Yeah, that’s the problem with these UA-cam hack videos once you put the information out there it’s no longer a hack because everyone’s doing it so no one stands out
Trust me. Feels criminal that I have more subscribers than him. Fantastic video I’ve weirdly learned more here than most of the other UA-cam tutorial videos
My thoughts EXACTLY. Your content is simply BRILLIANT and unconventional, which definitely makes you stand out, keep going! Your channel will be huge someday🎉
As a UA-cam animator with 200 subscribers, I've noticed that most UA-cam advice videos, like those from VidIQ or Marcus Jones, primarily focus on popular niches such as vlogging or podcasting. However, I enjoy creating animated content like parodies, storytimes, and comedy videos. Unfortunately, these videos rarely reach less than 1,000 views, except for my UA-cam Shorts, and I have struggled to build a community around my work. I've attempted to create compelling titles, eye-catching thumbnails, and engaging intros, but my videos don't perform as well as I had hoped, despite what many UA-cam advice videos suggest. I've come to realize that their advice can sometimes be misleading! I plan to focus on this channel by uploading animations weekly and improving 1% at a time to build a stronger audience. Your video is well explained btw.
Ahh yes I actually do remember watching a good bit of UA-cam advice content back when I first started making content on UA-cam (more seriously). And I’ll admit there is some decent advice and pointer that can be quite useful for those who aren’t familiar with what they are doing when it comes to making content. But I stopped after awhile because while there’s definitely advice that will make you feel good and be like “Yes! That’s it!” and feel motivated to continue doing your thing. But on the flip side there’s advice that really makes you feel upset because you feel like you’re not up to today’s standards… and probably wish you could punch the creator through the screen. 😅 Of course it’s like what you mentioned in the video that once you get the idea, it’s best to put it to use and learn as you go. Sometimes the best way to learn is from your own experiences for when it comes to making decent content on UA-cam.
Thanks for making this video. I recently started making videos myself and watched some of the videos you mentioned. It didn't take me long to realize there's very little to gain from this kind of content after an initial learning phase. I’ve witnessed a small channel niching down on UA-cam advice after having success with a single video about it. Before that, they had been doing something completely different, and over night they've become an expert in this field, posting advice three times a week. I get that they want to make it on UA-cam and get monetized, but I don't know… it feels like a loop. People are giving UA-cam advice for the next generation of people who’ll be giving UA-cam advice. And for the most part, it's just smoke and mirrors.
The secret is “Stop watching. Start Creating.” And then be consistent and improve one video at a time… for the next 5-10 years. YT is a marathon, not a sprint. Most people won’t make it to 1k subs. They give up way too quickly.
I manage to monetize two channels 1. @rangtaluck 2. @nagatube_ Both Monetized this year! UA-cam is not luck it's just a proper strategy!! I managed 5 other UA-cam channels of professional singers and youtubers
Your honesty and integrity is so obvious and totally refreshing. I agree with most of the thoughts expressed. All I do is have fun creating and whatever follows is fine by me. Some of my vids are very successful and some are not but all contribute in their own distinct way to channel growth. I hit my subs+watch hours in less than 3 months and am now monetised and just following my own rules and doing my own thing. I trust my own instincts and keep going and that is the best advice I can give to new creators as a newbie myself. Keep going….do what you do…enjoy the journey… let the dice fall where it may and learn from the experience.
Excellent video! Finally, an honest and genuinely insightful review of these so-called tips we see everywhere-always the same ones. Refreshing to watch something so straightforward and engaging!
As a UA-camr it's really annoying seeing these "UA-cam Advice Gurus" pitch seemingly miracle-like solutions to UA-cam success and boil down the process to just some handful of tip of tricks, while can be useful, are very incomplete in terms of actually teaching smaller UA-camrs and are giving them a false impression of what goes into being successful on UA-cam I'm glad to see that there are others that are able to recognize these channels for what they actually are
Someone made a video about how these gurus are a lot of pyramid scheme and I couldn’t agree more. They’re very predatory because they prey on the smaller UA-camrs who are vulnerable and insecure about their channel growth. They’re aware that success on UA-cam is still quite achieveable without the advices they offer, so they often use dirty tactics like FOMO or literally just showing their monthly income. It’s almost like “wanna make this much money? Here are some tips that are pretty much available for free since the very beginning of UA-cam. Or, if you really wanna make it, buy my course. If you don’t want to, it’s fine, not everyone can achieve success ;)”. Like, it’s insane.
Yo @gamesfoundationyt this is weird but I watched one of your videos before lmao. Clicked on your channel and saw the red bar and I remembered even watching it. Funny coincidence
Thank you so much for this!! I fell in an endless loop with youtube advice for small channels and spent less time editing and working on my own content. This has helped me reset and get back to work! :)
Me too! Now my feed is full of it. I've realized a lot of the channels just copy and paste each other, and most pay for subs and engagement. Good luck on your journey. You got this.
@@Destined2Recover Yeah, they copy and paste but mostly with no real advice so it is often a waste of time.Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot!! And good luck on your journey as well, one day at a time ;)
No different then the gold rush, you could be the guy buying the gold pan and gambling, or you could be the store owner taking profit from selling said gold pan.
You absolutely hit the nail on the head. I too, was searching for advice. I thought surely they are telling the truth, "I am going to take their advice, sit back and wait two minutes to see my videos sky rocket." I thought to myself you know, even though I am only 5 months into my journey, let me do it my way and then also thought well they have been doing this for years maybe I am fooling myself. I find the "click bait" stuff disappointing. I watched many of the same vids and was disappointed. So thanks for confirming my thoughts. I, of course, thought, Tracy work it out for yourself. I did not voice my opinion to any of them, but still I am trying my own way, so thanks for this. I concur with everything you said.
The problem is people watch these how to get subscribers videos and they expect their subscriber account and their review count to blow up within one day or one week that’s not how it works. Each advice channel gives you real advice on how to grow. The main one is being consistent. People always overlook that fact though. Whatever new trend that is to do do it right away most people don’t do that they weigh weeks or even two months after the fact to the point where you can’t even get views from that train anymore, that’s another thing that people don’t realize. A lot of UA-camrs just wanna be a UA-camr they don’t do any research. The biggest thing to growing on any platform is promotion. People have to see you. And perception is everything so if you don’t have a good number of amount of subs or views people are not gonna subscribe to you no matter how good your videos are because they see nobody else is interested in your videos so they won’t subscribe they may still watch, but they will never subscribe so the part you should be working on First is getting your subs up by any means because in reality it’s gonna get you more people that’s gonna support you we’ve all done it. I don’t subscribe to a UA-camr until I see that he has a lot to offer, which means more than one video would have to be intriguing to me plus there subscriber count account.
Great video! I took a free yt analytics cert course that taught me so many great tips. What it did not warn me of was the amount of expensive courses that many creators would try to sell me. I had already learned in the course, I just had to take the time to implement them, which is the part that takes time to learn. My question is, if the courses work, why don't we see anyone making videos on how these courses helped them? I made a new creators tips playlist on what I learned from taking the analytics course on google courses for free. I made a playlist of these videos and what do you know, vidiq attacked me and sent hate to my channel. He made a video called "stolen content" Now if a channel claims to help people, all they need to do is just buy their course, why do we see no testimonials of success and why is Vidiq out here making videos on small channels? Vidiq did apologize in his comments after a bit of a back and forth, but the video is still up. Thanks for making this video. Made me feel confident in my decisions to keep chopping at the skills on my channel.
I think that the biggest problem with UA-camrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload like once or twice per week, and it also helps to avoid burn out.
That's always my problem with advice videos. The video examples they use don't really match the type of content I'm making. They always use vlogging, life style, life hack content as examples, but never use gaming content examples. And I always hate when they use MRbeast as an example. It's like they want us ALL to be like MrBeast, when really all we're wanting to do is know how to grow our subscribers and views and watchtime on youtube. Also I have actually fallen into what people would call a "trap" of turning off publish to sub feed. It did work for a moment, but then it wasn't doing too well so, idk I have mixed feelings about it.
Yeah I hate how often people hold up Mr Beast as this shining example, he’s definitely an anomaly and clearly willing to do things the majority of people wouldn’t do just for the sake of content. And I’ve heard people claim the subs feed thing works for them but I’m really not convinced. Every video performs differently especially when you’re a smaller channel so it seems like it could easily just be completely random and have nothing to do with whether or not you check that box.
@@coreyjcampbell I agree, and if I'm being honest. I've had videos that had the publish to subs feed uncecked that didn't peforme that good and some that have peformed good. Idk, I've gotten mix results. It's worked for some videos and some it hasn't worked. I've been keeping them unchecked because from looking at my analytics and peformance of past videos, the unchecked videos seemed to have peformed better, so idk. I'm waiting till all my scheduled videos post so I can post videos that are up to date with the trends. As far as unchecking or checking the publish to subs feed on or off, I have no idea what to do. I've gotten so into the habit of unchecking that publish to sub feed box that it's kinda like a drug or an addiction now. I've had times where I forgot to uncheck it and my short only got 6 views. so idk, we'll see.
As a real 'UA-cam Strategist' the answer is simple. They have million views because they exploit a market using shady tactics. Real authentic creators like you are 'starving artists', focusing on the quality and the art of making videos. That's why even on our community we complain about how Big/Medium channels are choosing the 'Algorithm' over 'Audience/Real Content'. UA-cam is the new TV. Take in mind, there's no room for error for a channel who invested 5k or 10k on a video. It's all a business, a lot of channels are just doing VSL with 10k or 20k views, they're using UA-cam as free Ads. The problem with UA-cam is that you need to understand Markets, Attention and Hidden Rules. For small channels, they can win in record time by posting a lot of content (14 or more videos per week) or by doing better videos than the current competition (channels like Cipher, Sweaty Clam) or by having an unfair advantage (Sam Sulek Body, Ryan Trahan Charisma, Being a Celeb or Millionaire).
The irony is that there are a ton of them (YT Advice channels) that died and either got abandoned or don't get that many views or subs now, yet their creators are still giving advice. Many of them ignored important topics that should have been discussed, like the 'invalid traffic' bs that YT started destroying channels with or shadowbanning or that period when shorts started killing longform impressions on already established channels. How many of these YT Advice creators have actually started channels and shown how to be successful from the ground up? Not too many.
My issue is when I look at the analytics, I know my videos sucks. But when I ask for feedback, the answers I get are; I don't get why you're not huge yet. Blah blah blah. So, it's hard to really know where I'm failing.
Yeah looks you’re in the let’s play genre, seems like a hard one to stand out in for sure. Videos look professionally made though! I get plenty of comments asking why I haven’t blown up yet too, which always make me feel good but while I think I make decent content, when I look at the best video essay creators out there it’s clear there’s lots for me to improve on. So studying the best is one way to find some areas you could improve on. (Of course you don’t just want to be a copycat either so still need to consider what makes you unique and interesting, which is a very hard part of the whole journey.)
If you want to grow I’d suggest doing lives more you seem to be doing very well with them and set them up so they going into the shorts feed as well! Your pretty close to 1k subs so doing a promotion on one of your bigger videos wouldn’t hurt either
I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to talk about the same thing every day for a huge portion of these channels. It's pretty much done because it's such a huge RPM. I hate talking about gaming news regularly which is why I started keeping any newsworthy stuff down to a minute or two. I don't want to waste your time. I think once you get the basic info out there you are better talking about specific channel strategies. That being said lot of people also have a hard time taking action and need constant reminders. So it probably does help some people listening to the same stuff until it's drilled into your head.
All great points. You have to be honest with yourself and understand it's not a "one size fits all". Just because it worked here, doesnt mean it works there. Subbed and look forward to more of your content!
I'm subscriber 3999 - sorry for being late to the party❤! I knew I wasn't alone. I'm so sick and tired of UA-cam big creators telling me nothing I do is good enough. Took me four years to reach 1K subscribers. From 2020 to June 2024. Meanwhile super large channels have their HUGE business budget and a TEAM of people to help them film a viral video and the budget to distribute it. Not all - but MOST large YT channels. And while I do this for a hobby, it gets tiring being told I suck 😕. My thumbnails aren't good. My intros aren't good. My exits aren't good. My descriptions aren't good. I'm so Fn over the UA-cam algorithm I ignore it. We have to remember those channels can't stay in business if we don't believe we suck like they tell us and buy their product 😂😂 Thank you for this video.❤❤
I've literally followed advice from the bigger channels to a T like the whole "get 100k subs in a year" blah blah....I've worked soo hard on my titles, thumbnails, SEO, intros, just everything I could think of, but it's not as easy as all that😂
from what I've seen, these youtube guru's main strategy to get views is by making videos on how to be successful on youtube, which is one. ever ending flow of views as there will always be people who want to be successful on UA-cam and who will search for such videos. But if you make other types of videos, it would have been better if they actually showed step by step guides how to get that type of content to grow.. Example they make a new channels dedicated to games.
As a game content creator of three years i have learnt a lot. since starting out . and at the start i watched a lot of, advice videos and noticed they all bounce around the same thing. some of the advice i was already doing . so in a way they were saying stuff i already knew .and still not working now 3 years on i am doing ok .but now i have a new problem. one week a video will do well. the week after on the same game it will do bad. all so getting a dislike on specific videos what's had more then 5 likes. there even disliking shorts. on videos. what did well. and putting a lot of work into my videos . this upsets me. knowing i have put 100% in to what i do
Yeah I completely agree that just editing low retention parts doesn't make any difference for me as a small creator, as like you said, youtube doesn't push out content after it flat lines to "test" it again (unless it suddenly decides to go viral a few months later 😂) however...at least looking at the data I could see that retention always falled for me at 1min so it did made me look at what's happening in those moments to try and tighten it for future uploads. So I don't think it helps past videos but learning it for future videos might work....but I'm still in a testing phase myself 😂 I'm loving your videos from the perspective for a smaller channel. I think it's super useful and grounded! Keep making these ❤❤
When I started on YT, I watched them all. It's basically just the same old same old. I no longer watch any of them. I have little enough time to create videos, I don't need to waste my time looking for the 'magic' answer which I don't think exists. Your title was intriguing enough to make me click. I enjoy making videos, don't think I will ever have a viral video, let alone become a 'big' youtuber. I just plug along making videos I would watch and celebrate each view and subscriber. It's enough for me. Not to say I don't want my channel to grow, because I do. I just don't see how most of the advice out there pertains to my channel and how I do my videos. I do think it's funny though, how YT strategy and growth channels have never actually grown a 'real' channel. They claim their help channel is testimony to how they know what they are talking about. In reality, they are just taking advantage of new YTers who are desperate to learn whatever they can to grow a channel. How many ways can you get a person to click on your video using click bait titles and thumbnails that say exactly what your last 20 videos did, which was very little. lol!
I started my Personal Finance channel last month and still working on finding my audience and subscribers. There are so many channels just rehashing the same information over and over again and making it seem like it's new and innovative.
When I was first starting out, the UA-cam advice channels was an amazing place to understand the basics. Make content worth watching, colorful thumbnails, catchy titles and search engine. After that its all a bunch of non sense and people trying to go viral while making sub par or just god awful content.
I was doing nice even as a beginner. Started listening advices on youtube and my videos views declined. I have seen some of the same niche youtubers giving even totally fake or wrong advices. Most successful and money making niche on youtube is How to make money on UA-cam?How to be successful on UA-cam? How to get views and subscribers? And, these channels grow so fast. Thank you for sharing this video and pointing out this important topic.
Everyone's out there selling a product or service, to grow on UA-cam you just gotta do what you would do with anything else - put time and effort. Subbed btw...
For anybody, that's trying to pay youtube gurus or youtubers for advice never do that. UA-cam at the end of the day is AI algorithm. Is constantly changing. Meaning whatever advice that they're giving out now may change tomorrow. There was his youtuber fitness youtuber, his name was sikomass he already had a hundred k subscribers, but his view. We're only in the hundreds. He pays six thousand dollars to a youtube guru to give him advice. After taking the course for months, his channel views decrease went from the hundreds to the tens. Also, I've been working in tech for 6 years now and one mistake. A lot of new youtubers make is trying to pay UA-cam gurus or people for UA-cam advice. When like I say again, the algorithm is always changing. Never pay.
The more you analyze and try to figure out the "algorithm" the more of a nightmare your UA-cam journey is going to be. You could spend literally hours watching UA-cam videos on the topic but at the end of the day what it comes down to is consistency, quality, good titles, and good thumbnails. If people resonate with your content they will naturally subscribe on their own without you asking and it will naturally grow overtime. People have forgotten how to have fun with UA-cam because they're so stressed about the algorithm and what it wants. Screw that, just have fun with it and focus on quality and consistency. That's really all you need.
The UA-cam advice is good enough to get people started on their journey. However, general basic courses are not. To be the most effective on UA-cam, or any social media platform that matter, you need to understand marketing + business. You can either go to college, trade school, or mentorship in that. Or you can pay someone experienced to do it for you. There is more to this game then getting views/subs/likes on content. It's a business and you need to treat it like it. No amount of UA-cam advice can take the place of that.
You're a great speaker with natural rhythm. Any tips on improving my voice overs? I don't believe there's much content around this. Great video keep.it up!
Thanks! I'm sure there's some resources out there around improving your on camera speaking/narration skills. For me it's just been something I've consciously worked at and try to be somewhat critical about, trying to adjust how fast I talk, paying attention to words that easily get garbled, etc. I've definitely improved since my early videos lol.
Please learn how to use words correctly. It's not a Scam because people charge for information that's free somewhere. I went to college for tv and film production. All of that info was available to me at the time for free. I didn't get scammed because I paid for the knowledge.
And the fact that he can't even be contacted for 101 support but will make a video out of it so he can get more views lol $1000 for a 101 session too? FOH whoever ever defends the purchase is either the youtuber who's selling it or dumb af
You got scammed. You can learn it free and now a days, it's all about professional portfolio and doing hobby projects. Your just finding a way to justify to cope. Even then, at least you got 101 interaction with teachers. The youtube courses don't even offer that. Str8 up scam trash
Great video, bro! I believe this one has a high chance of blowing up, I'm right there with you, my channel only now started to do above average! These UA-cam Gurus know nothing, or their advice usually isn't really that helpful. 😅👍
Could you do a video of your thoughts on whether youtibe shorts are beneficial or not? Would love to see your take! I'm finding my longform stats have tanked since doing shorts so I want to know if it's safe to continue it or whether I shohld make a shorts only channel? I dunno if it's helping me or hurting me 😅
Just like advice videos it's about finding the nuggets of usefulness. The point about diminishing returns I think is very good for people looking for advice, but also it is interesting to hear people's unique perspectives on life when they are not overly processed.
well said sir! I watched 4-5 videos of Marcus, [including that one you mention] and is waste of time. Clickbait. in my top preferences about YT is another channel but this guys have few other channels. One is about SEO. They are working with data and for one video they are working rly hard!!! btw of notifications: less that one percent of viewers come form it. Turn it off: any notifications [not only YT] is a distraction! YT is recomands you to find a verry narrow niche and stay on it. Is like you are a shelf in a big supermarket. It sasy chose a nice as your audience! But I am also an Yt user. and I am not watching just one kind of videos. I like to watch documentary, history, SEO and webdesign, politics, video editing, philosphy, podcasts, music, movies, games etc. I will like to talk and create content about this topics. I am a person with various interests. And i guess, like me are many people in the world. So... why YT is forcing me to create only video about one single topic? I was thinking to try various niches but ...I don''t care. I will post anything I want. I know some people will come form one content, other for other content. Some people like my jokes, some like my fun facts, some like to watch when I filmed them on an event. I am a small shop, not just a shelf! and yes... like you I will never be a succesfull youtber. LE: subscribed and thanks for share :) PS: If i will spend 1-2 weeks I can make an YT course and I can sell it for 1 dollar! The problem is: nobody will buy it because they will consider it junk :)
I 100% agree with everything you said. As a small channel myself with 6K subs I have watched many of those videos and really find them so misleading at times and for me they have provided 0 help in growing my channel or subscribers. I now skip such videos as I think they are 99% waste of time, just clickbait for anyone just starting on youtube. There is no easy way of growing a channel and anyone who claims that few settings will make your channel blow up is straight up lying.
Hey, nice video and You have a great voice, I think Your channel have potential 👍 I'm also on my YT journey, the thing is we had to think ourselves, there are so many people who also want to start channels, so if even something works and it is told then everyone will rush to it and next moment it won't work anymore. Had to be patient, continue to think and produce videos, and be flexible on ideas.
I've lost track of how many videos I've seen about growing a UA-cam audience that are just "Go to Google trends. See what's popular. Make videos about that."
I agree with you Corey. I've been on UA-cam long enough you can tell the good advice from the junk advice. A good video - I subscribed. A small Content Creator just like me!
Very True about diminishing returns, even this video can fall under that rather than the viewer actually just making videos constantly doing is better than overplanning
I would love to hear your take on the importance of "collabing" with other creators. It seems like no one is doing that anymore... is that the key to a successful channel?
Good Solid Video. UA-cam SUCCESS = Hard Work + (Some) Talent / Ability + A Willingnewss to Learn + Willingness to Work for Nothing for Undefined limited of Time.
Just like a fellow strategist mentioned the reason why they have loads of views ia because we are the gullible ones who feed into their views. Im here with 900 subs and 900 videos on youtube the struggle is real best believe
The problem is we are all new at some stage so we seek out help, its not long until we realise these guys are full of it, some of us having paid out to learn this.
I really like this vid because I really thought if I didn’t turn the notification it would affect my videos some how and I was mad because I wasn’t sure about it until this you don’t know how great full I am ❤
Haha, I actually caught that after I uploaded it but figured I’d leave it in since it seemed somewhat appropriate for the part. Yes I believe you are the first one to call it out.
I have only been on YT for 4 months and I did a video a few weeks ago about figuring out if a guru is worth it or if they even apply to you. Least popular video so far. I addressed vague common sense talking points to sell you a course without any proof of concept.
I really enjoyed this video, this topic should be wildly discussed more by others. Since this some these people such as Make Money Matt and Robert Benjamin are almost acting like a content farm with new videos uploaded every day. Plus, what kind of shure microphone are you.
Another Great video. I think Marcus is Great . some of his tactics work and sometimes he acknowledges that he contradicts himself. Vid IQ is worse repeats the same thing over and over again Robert Benjamin that guy repeats the same things also multiple times.
Yo what is the name of the song in the intro of this vid 1:00 to be exact? Is it a UA-cam studio video preset song? Is it from a specific free music licensing company? This is the 1st time hearing, but nobody ever put the name of the audio in their description
I’ve watched so many UA-cam advice videos, I’m now watching UA-cam videos about UA-cam advice videos
lol
Frr
😂😂😂😂😂right? Me too!😮😅😊
Honestly I think these people are just grifters. They don't know how to grow channels, or more specifically your channel. They know how to generate clicks in their field. They basically
repackage the same 5 or 6 videos over and over again, then string you along in the videos with flashy editing and charts and such, but end up falling way short on delivering much for substance.
Totally agree mate 👍
You nailed it they repackaged the same thing. How many ways can you tell me that my thumbnails my intros my exits all suck😂❤🎉. Love your post❤
100% they are clueless about advising different niches. Each one has a unique quality.
You are right, I also subbed to your channel 😊
Why would you not comment with your actual account you are speaking of?
New person in this social media. I love UA-cam. Then i involved.
I couldn’t block and unsubscribe fast enough.
they made fun of my old channel (poison fire phoenix) once... i never felt so embarrassed in my life.
Lol.
Just do what you want. I've watched lot's of the videos on how to do youtube. But at the end of the day I'm doing youtube my way.
Are they doing gaming content by any chance?
Yeah, that’s the problem with these UA-cam hack videos once you put the information out there it’s no longer a hack because everyone’s doing it so no one stands out
That's so common. A video does well next thing you know they're experts & selling courses.😂😂
I don’t understand how you only have 3.8 thousand subscribers, these videos are amazing
Most people doesn't like critical thinking, mindless consumers are the majority
Thanks mate 👍. Oh haha reply to wrong comment. 🤣
Can’t agree more
Of course it’s like what you mentioned in the video that once you get the idea, it’s best to put it to use and learn as you go.
Feels like a pyramid scheme.
Exactly
The secret is “Stop watching. Start Creating.” And then be consistent and improve one video at a time… for the next 5-10 years. YT is a marathon, not a sprint. Most people won’t make it to 1k subs. They give up way too quickly.
I manage to monetize two channels
1. @rangtaluck
2. @nagatube_
Both Monetized this year!
As a UA-camr it's really annoying seeing these "UA-cam Advice Gurus" pitch seemingly miracle-like solutions to UA-cam success and boil down the process to just some handful of tip of tricks, while can be useful, are very incomplete in terms of actually teaching smaller UA-camrs and are giving them a false impression of what goes into being successful on UA-cam
I'm glad to see that there are others that are able to recognize these channels for what they actually are
Someone made a video about how these gurus are a lot of pyramid scheme and I couldn’t agree more.
Well said.
So true 👍 ❤
Yo @gamesfoundationyt this is weird but I watched one of your videos before lmao. Clicked on your channel and saw the red bar and I remembered even watching it. Funny coincidence
@@Kalitayydon't forget the "BUY MY COURSE" bs 😂
Thank you so much for this!! I fell in an endless loop with youtube advice for small channels and spent less time editing and working on my own content. This has helped me reset and get back to work! :)
Me too! Now my feed is full of it. I've realized a lot of the channels just copy and paste each other, and most pay for subs and engagement. Good luck on your journey. You got this.
Your channel is doing great btw
@@Destined2Recover Yeah, they copy and paste but mostly with no real advice so it is often a waste of time.Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot!! And good luck on your journey as well, one day at a time ;)
@OblivionOffGrid You're welcome and you are 100 percent correct. THANK YOU for the kind words!! You as well.
No different then the gold rush, you could be the guy buying the gold pan and gambling, or you could be the store owner taking profit from selling said gold pan.
I have so far enjoyed watching your journey on youtube. You will get far brother.
Video wraps up my thoughts on the entire community (UA-cam advice) splendidly.
❤ not wrong mate.
@@themarekch yip.
He made a video called "stolen content"
Now if a channel claims to help people, all they need to do is just buy their course, why do we see no testimonials of success and why is Vidiq out here making videos on small channels?
Vidiq did apologize in his comments after a bit of a back and forth, but the video is still up.
Thanks for making this video. Made me feel confident in my decisions to keep chopping at the skills on my channel.
Good luck to all my fellow content creators! Never give up, you got this❤
Best video I’ve watched in a while. Great job.
Our reliance on the algorithm is something else.
Another great video Corey! You're getting better every time. I'm very inspired.
I m three months on UA-cam still struggling but this video truly helps.... a lot
I just subscribed...u deserve it.
Good luck on your journey, fellow content creator
I think that the biggest problem with UA-camrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload like once or twice per week, and it also helps to avoid burn out.
lol viral is a buzz word so basically if yousold products ud prefer a million views to 1 view buying a product
Ngl that sounds like a good idea especially as a artist myself and a new animatior
Nah the biggest problem is people. People in modern days always set high expectations.
Spam
Famester to make it viral, lol you have less than 200 hundred subs.
Incredible vid. Completely new to the channel, excited to see what you create next
I did it difficult to make good content, there is rarely advice on that, Personally because it is very subjective and specific.
It makes sense.
"If you get the message, hang up the phone" - I needed to hear that today, for sure
The debunking grifts genre of youtube videos are some of my favorites. You should def do more like this.
You can literally visualise this as a thumbnail I know:
Do this! 258k Subs ✅
Don't do this! -10 Subs ❌
We have to remember those channels can't stay in business if we don't believe we suck like they tell us and buy their product 😂😂
Thank you for this video.❤❤
I've literally followed advice from the bigger channels to a T like the whole "get 100k subs in a year" blah blah....I've worked soo hard on my titles, thumbnails, SEO, intros, just everything I could think of, but it's not as easy as all that😂
Yes girl!
Both of yalls channels are doing great!@@happycatyoutube I hope to get to yalls level one day.
from what I've seen, these youtube guru's main strategy to get views is by making videos on how to be successful on youtube, which is one. ever ending flow of views as there will always be people who want to be successful on UA-cam and who will search for such videos.
But if you make other types of videos, it would have been better if they actually showed step by step guides how to get that type of content to grow.. Example they make a new channels dedicated to games.
As a game content creator of three years i have learnt a lot.
since starting out . and at the start i watched a lot of,
advice videos and noticed they all bounce around the same thing.
some of the advice i was already doing . so in a way they were saying
stuff i already knew .and still not working now 3 years on i am doing ok .but now
i have a new problem. one week a video will do well.
the week after on the same game it will do bad. all so getting a dislike on
specific videos what's had more then 5 likes. there even disliking shorts. on videos.
what did well. and putting a lot of work into my videos . this upsets me.
knowing i have put 100% in to what i do
HE SAID IT! HE SAID THE THING I COULDN'T PUT INTO WORDS!! YESS!!
Corey, thank you. You have no idea how close to home this video hit for me.
How many ways can you get a person to click on your video using click bait titles and thumbnails that say exactly what your last 20 videos did, which was very little. lol!
1.6k views in one day? Really nice job, my man! i hope it skyrockets!! well deserved and an awesome and informative video!! thanks for sharing!
I started my Personal Finance channel last month and still working on finding my audience and subscribers. There are so many channels just rehashing the same information over and over again and making it seem like it's new and innovative.
Hey man your thumbnails look rlly cool. What software do you use?
@Ladev103 Dalle 3 (through Microsoft Copilot free version) for the image and Canva to put it all together. That's it
When I was first starting out, the UA-cam advice channels was an amazing place to understand the basics. Make content worth watching, colorful thumbnails, catchy titles and search engine. After that its all a bunch of non sense and people trying to go viral while making sub par or just god awful content.
8:02 spot on, UA-cam about UA-cam, which keeps people ON UA-cam, is what UA-cam LOVES to push out.
Very well said.
$2000 for infomation that can be found for free is a scam
I’m sure he’d say there’s *some* info you can’t get for free in the course but yeah I tend to agree.
Please learn how to use words correctly. It's not a Scam because people charge for information that's free somewhere.
I went to college for tv and film production. All of that info was available to me at the time for free.
I didn't get scammed because I paid for the knowledge.
@@beatbuildersstudio paying for information is great even if it can be found for free, but for $2000?
And the fact that he can't even be contacted for 101 support but will make a video out of it so he can get more views lol $1000 for a 101 session too? FOH whoever ever defends the purchase is either the youtuber who's selling it or dumb af
You got scammed. You can learn it free and now a days, it's all about professional portfolio and doing hobby projects. Your just finding a way to justify to cope. Even then, at least you got 101 interaction with teachers. The youtube courses don't even offer that. Str8 up scam trash
I think you found your niche! All the best and good analysis!
This is an amazing video. Best one on UA-cam advice yet. So underrated
I look at it this way- when there is a gold rush, the best path to success is to make videos about becoming a successful gold miner
Great video, bro! I believe this one has a high chance of blowing up, I'm right there with you, my channel only now started to do above average! These UA-cam Gurus know nothing, or their advice usually isn't really that helpful. 😅👍
Your channel is doing great!!
You’re saving lives.
LE: subscribed and thanks for share :)
PS: If i will spend 1-2 weeks I can make an YT course and I can sell it for 1 dollar! The problem is: nobody will buy it because they will consider it junk :)
i learned from this video what I didn't watching 20 vidiq videos that keep repeating the same advices
Some fair calls there! PS, I was served this video as I'm a subscriber. 😉👍
Yes, there are endless amounts of scammers on youtube.
the end was hilarious😅 Great video
hey where can i get your background music??
I use Epidemic Sound.
It's always helpful to remember this: "In a gold rush, the only people who make money are those selling the shovels."
You hit the nail on the head. "Type in How To Succeed on UA-cam" -- Wow that's kind of a lot... 🤣
Totally agree 👍 it's been a interesting journey so far.
If you ever want to make a video about UA-cam shorts growth and issues with shorts I would love to talk!
I agree with you Corey. I've been on UA-cam long enough you can tell the good advice from the junk advice. A good video - I subscribed. A small Content Creator just like me!
UA-cam Experts on $500 hour calls... "show me your watch" proceed to tell you the time.
They want you to buy courses so they don’t tell you everything you need to know
Very True about diminishing returns, even this video can fall under that rather than the viewer actually just making videos constantly doing is better than overplanning
I would love to hear your take on the importance of "collabing" with other creators. It seems like no one is doing that anymore... is that the key to a successful channel?
Good video. Thanks for posting and giving your take on the UA-cam Gurus :)
Amazing video 🤘🏾
The problem of some UA-cam advice channels is some or most are just copying other advice videos.
Great vid! keep it up! you'll hit yt success on your own, i'm sure of it
Great video, thanks for sharing Corey.
I don't know why this mr beast compelation didnt get a copyright strikes he is obviously using others videos without adding anything
Watching everyone cause UA-cam is suggesting me but going with the flow 😂...
Great vodeo. Refecging change from all the other big channels pushing rubbish for the sake of content. Keep on going we all grow together 🎉
Do I win a prize since I found the typo?
At the 9:40 mark.
All in all, thank you for your great advice!
-John
Haha, I actually caught that after I uploaded it but figured I’d leave it in since it seemed somewhat appropriate for the part.
Yes I believe you are the first one to call it out.
You're amazing, I remembered you. Keep it up.
I have only been on YT for 4 months and I did a video a few weeks ago about figuring out if a guru is worth it or if they even apply to you. Least popular video so far. I addressed vague common sense talking points to sell you a course without any proof of concept.
Another great essay, thank you mate
I really enjoyed this video, this topic should be wildly discussed more by others. Since this some these people such as Make Money Matt and Robert Benjamin are almost acting like a content farm with new videos uploaded every day. Plus, what kind of shure microphone are you.
Thanks for a measured take on the subject! Good video, keep it up
Another Great video. I think Marcus is Great . some of his tactics work and sometimes he acknowledges that he contradicts himself. Vid IQ is worse repeats the same thing over and over again Robert Benjamin that guy repeats the same things also multiple times.
Brilliant, Corey! I can't agree more!
Yo what is the name of the song in the intro of this vid 1:00 to be exact? Is it a UA-cam studio video preset song? Is it from a specific free music licensing company? This is the 1st time hearing, but nobody ever put the name of the audio in their description
I appreciate the allan watts response, i dont think ill ever pay one of these youtubers how to increase my subs
