I volunteer at a therapeutic horse back riding for special needs kids and I was so nervous but love it and cant bring my self to ever miss a day now.
I have horses and am going to school for therapeutic horse back riding. All through elementary and high school I worked with the special needs kids. I have had a special connection with all of the kids. It is amazing

I am working and going to school for running a therapeutic horse back riding barn. I have always been super comfortable with the kids. I am combining the two things I love most. Horses and kids with special needs and disabilities. Love your channel fathering autism and summers channel.

I've been in a situation similar to Summer and you guys when I was younger, it's not a blood thing, it's a family thing, you don't have to be blood-related to be a member of a family, and it's a very cool thing to be loved by people that don't have to love you just because your family by blood, if that makes sense.

I love her heart 😭 & how genuine she is, she has a amazing head on her shoulders at 21 wish I could’ve said the same for myself at 21. & he’s incredibly beautiful, I get why everyone thinks Isaiah should marry her thing is he’s in high school & going into college & she will be graduated in grad school. Yes, there’s a “you never know factor” but chances are slim. I wouldn’t want them to ever ruin what they have though 🤷🏼♀️💁🏼♀️
Every time I see Summer, I love her more. We are so blessed to have one of our son’s elementary school teachers as this person in our son’s life. It is so hard to trust anyone with our non-verbal kiddos. What great people these rare treasures are!

Wish I had heard it live. Wanted to tell Summer how incredible she is. Asa, you and Cilla, and even more so Abbie and Isaiah have benefited so much from having her in your lives. I tried to send a VM on Anchor and was unsuccessful. And Summer is also very lucky. She has 2 incredible sets of role models in you and Cilla and Phil and her mom.(Sorry can't remember her name.) I totally understand the relationship between Summer and Isaiah, because I had one similar to theirs at that age.

Thank you for addressing the volunteering aspect of working with people with autism. You don’t necessarily be educated in psychology in general or trained in ABA in particular to make an impact. All we as parents are thankful for is having someone with empathy in our lives. The Maasses are blessed to have people like you, Summer. We would also love to get your perspective as a former “outsider” and hear what made you want to volunteer for SFA even before you met Abbie and the Massses.
I have a problem. I not only listened to the podcast as soon as it came up but I watched this as soon as I had a moment. Lol love you guys! I think everyone just loves the idea of a love story they imagine Summer and Isaiah having (and Isaiah, Summer, Abbie and all the cute babies living happily ever after)! It’s always the plot twist in your favorite movie.. but with this it’s just our favorite UA-camr’s!

I relate to what you said, as I'm on the Autism Spectrum, and all my life I've chose to always be completely upfront with who I am, and true to myself always 💓💓
Took a while to fully accept who I am around other people, it was thanks to Abbie that I've truly opened up that much more, even announcing on Facebook I'm asd, your daughter inspired me so much thank you!! 😊💗
So now I choose not to try & hide my true self in public, even though I'm a rather shy and timid individual, yet kind and compassionate ☺❤💙💜 xo

Listening to y'all mention how people are willing to teach you how to be a care taker for people with autism helped calm my worries down. Cause I've gotten called back for jobs to be an ABA therapist, but got too nervous to follow through considering I have no prior experience. But it's nice to know most of them are open to wanting to teach you and what not. :)
