    Hey man! I picked up a LUV a while back, and you have been the go to guy to learn from. Your scotch bright pad in the drill has changed my life. Haha Im putting my dash in today. I happened to see a kansas plate in your video, which is cool. From a fellow kansas fabricobbler, I just want to say thank you for all you do and sharing your knowledge.
    "Kansas, Its not that bad!"

      Not bad considering how easy of a job it is. Definitely worth doing IMO!

    Dash came out great! I probably would of sprayed the vents black before installing. The sun turned them gray. There's some nice re pop door panels as well if you're interested. Thanks for the video!

      Yeah painting them black is probably a good idea. What little experience I have painting plastic didn’t always yield the best results so I’m a little shy there. I actually have a set of shop built door panels waiting to go in! I want to do them last so I don’t accidentally damage them working on the interior. It should transform the inside nicely.

    Uff da. I've heard of that expression but never heard it used. Really nice job on the dash.

    Loving the content man! keep it up. heads up took me 3 months to get my floor pans from Thailand. They are great but that wait was intense.

      Thanks man I really appreciate it. To my surprise my floor pans already arrived! Like a little over a week to get here. I think the ports have cleared out somewhat. I haven’t had a chance to even open up the box yet though.

    Do you have a website that shows all of your suppliers for LUV parts? I have a 1980 that I got back in 87/88 that I am starting to restore. It would be great to have a head start for where to find parts.

    • @fabricobbletech

      Certain parts are definitely hard to find. If you have something specific you see that I sourced, I can look back and try to provide information where I got it. Pretty sure I ordered this dash cover off Amazon. But I've got a number of other parts from ebay, rockauto, and private sellers. Still to this day would love to source a quality windshield gasket. I ordered one from Thailand. After 2 months in the sun it's all cracked and complete garbage. Would been better off leaving in the original

      Awesome. I have a 1976 solid axle swap 4X4. Working on an complete interior vid for the 1975. But now that I have that done I hope to start working on getting a good running engine swapped into the 1976. I have a parts truck that I am crossing my fingers has a good engine! I miss that truck...

      Accu-form is the brand. They can be found on Amazon or other vendors. You can probably even buy direct

    Great channel! Do you think that dash cover would still fit decently if you removed the dash pad then added some closed cell foam, cut to fit as near the OE shape as possible? I've got a '75 that I'm about to start rebuilding and the dash is of course trash.

    • @fabricobbletech
      @fabricobbletech  2 роки тому +1

      As long as the adhesive plays well with the foam I don’t know why it wouldn’t work. I’d have to do some research on the specific foam your using but in general the foam will be what supports your dash cover. Only the foam will be adhered to the dash directly. As long as it is tough enough to hang on and doesn’t degrade or permanently deform easily it seems to me like it could work fine.

    Can you please tell me, where did you find that dash cover?

    • @fabricobbletech
      @fabricobbletech  Рік тому

      Yes, they can be found on Amazon. Can't remember if I showed the brand in the video but it's Accu-Form. Probably available from multiple suppliers and could even order direct.
