That mystery hub cap with a letter R appears to be from a 1959or 1960 Nash Rambler.
I looked it up on the Google machine.

The R on the hub cap tells me it's from a Rambler (early AMC). The little air filter looks like it came off a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine.
Or a Honda or a Koehler
Makes me miss my old 4X4 Luv. That thing was tough, ran great, was great on gas. I use to take that thing rallying in the Colorado Rockies full of camping gear.
I was wondering if they made them with 4wd. I would luv to have one. (Pun intended)
I have never seen one 4x4. I've seen a bunch that were made into dragsters.
If I find one 4x4 I am gonna jump on it. If the motor can't be saved I will put a 4.8, or a small diesel in it.

@@letsdothis9063Yes, they did indeed have 4 wheel drive LUV Trucks back at that time. My brother in law owned one, it was a 1980 yellow Chevy LUV 4 wheel drive truck.

Love how it’s “just down the road” it could be 50 miles away from the house but it’s “just down the road” good luck with getting her going or whatever you plan on doing with it. Loving the second channel, it’s just quite enough of a quick video to help get over the hump of waiting for the new video on the main channel
This one was just down the road, in fact evey vehicle I’ve drug home with the exception of my box trucks have been just down the road. Within 15 minutes of driving!

I graduated in 91 and a 79 chevy luv was what I drove in high school! I love the luv truck. All my buddies drove s10s lol!

A home made flatbed gets rid of most of the rust. The LUV and the Datsun are by far the best shaped trucks.

Love the channel, drove a 75 baby blue Chevy Luv. Timming chain tensioner failed and sent the chain right out of the case. Three months later, found a Luv on the end of a tow truck, followed the truck to the local wreckers and convinced the yard's owner to let me buy and remove the cover and borrow his tools. All of this while on the clock (boss wasn't happy I was missing with company truck for a few hours). Got her running that night, little Isuzu motor wouldn't quit. 1983, 18 and back in business. 20 bucks lighter and big ass chewing from the boss. Couldn't explain how I came back to the job greasy. Loved cruising that little truck.
I'da bought the whole truck and used it for parts for the one ya go now. I loved the looks of the LUV trucks from 1972 till 1980, especally the 1975 ,6,7,8,9 and 1970 trucks.
I had a 1980 Chevy LUV when I turned 16 that exact color in 1994. so if you take this one and park it and Mark it I might be willing to buy it LOL can't wait to see what you do with it puddin and wanted to let you know that your shirts and stickers look so much better in person you are so welcome for the support and I thank you so much for the great videos that you put out that I enjoy watching so much while I'm recovering from emergency neck surgery
I customized a 1972 LUV back in the 70's. Sun Roof, dual outside exhaust, fender flares and front air dam, white paint with Hugger Orange and Chevy Blue Graphics. We did a large spider on the hood. It would run 100MPH with the Overhead Valves and a .015 Head Shave. Drove it until I sold it to another car guy. It was one of the most fun rides to drive I ever had. Good Luck on this new project.

7 years ago today I picked up my old 79 Luv 4x4. Wife overheated it and blew a head gasket, warped the head, etc. Header, intake, carb, emissions delete, fresh floor pan and POW
I really like mini trucks. I have had several over the years. Isuzus, Datsuns, Nissans, Mazdas and GM S-series blazers and pickups. Very few problems with them compared to full size. They just keep going until the just literally die.
Seeing a LUV tail grabbing your butt down the road make me think of that old song " Beep Beep Little Nash Rambler" Now we know how the little Nash kept up, it was being towed too! 😀

What kinda cosmic flashbacks are going on here ? I had a Datsun mini truck , then I had a ' Edna ' and now you got an Isuzu Luv. I had a camper shell on my Luv. A camping sweetheart. You pick up a Pontiac Grand Prix , a Datsun 510 and 610 or a K-5 Blazer and I'm going to claim that you've been reading my old luv letters.

Yup, "R" is for Rambler. I recently acquired a 1964 Rambler 770 cross country wagon. Great video, there's always room for Puddins 2nd helpings .... Another nice addition to the mini-truck family :) Hawt Damn !

When I was a kid I spent a lot of weekend trips with my Dad going round scrap yards getting parts for his car, getting parts as cheap as he could. But the two things he never skimped on were spark plugs and brake shoes/pads. He said if you bought cheap plugs, you'll be buying them again not much later. He drove a procession of old bangers while we were kids but they always started, always ran well, and always stopped when you needed them to.
Luv you're channel's don't worry about haters. You're my kind of channel appreciate all your hard work.

Yellow '79 runnin' 'round here local. Owner kept the patina from when he drug it out of a local junkyard but installed an SBC in it. Pretty wicked little truck.

I love these little trucks, wish they were still being made today. We need them, gas is up to 7 bucks a gallon these days in 2022.

Had a Cvy Luv (79), back in 96' and drove it till I sold it to a duck hunter 2002! Had to put gas and some times oil in it and that's all!!! Oh, ya and it was a four wheeler!!! ... That was the best truck I ever had! Wish I still had it. Oh well keep up the good work.

Bought a 79 4x4, replaced the blown head gasket and started beating on it in the Oregon woods. Launched the front ring gear right through the housing. Drove it 2wd while I looked for a Toyota front axle, then the upper control arm ripped off the frame coming into the driveway. Swapped the Toyota axle in 5 nights after work outside in the winter, brr. Great little truck!!

👍👌👏 That was a really nice and decent old gentleman. One of the rare ones who give their stuff away before it's too late respectively the inherits have to deal with it. He could have easily sold it to a scrap metal guy but fortunately be did it this kind of generous way and gave it to you.

My 84yo mother was a production welder for a time in the 70's and my stepdad was a millwright....they are both Car Guys and at their age they are having a good time watching you build stuff. The second channel stuff is super fun for all of us, esp on nights when time is a lil short. Keep up the good work!
My brother John had one of these LUV'S,The bed was bad so he made it into a flatbed with wood planks and ran dual stacks off of one pipe up the back sides of the cab,People loved that thing,It too eventually blew a head gasket,These are notorious for this problem.

Hello from East Texas! I love the old Luv trucks, younger brother has a nice street rod Luv with a hot little Chevy small block in it. Those little Courier’s are hard to come by too, reminds me of my dads. Just got a couple of field finds that are about to get married, a rat rod project 79 Pinto wagon (been sittin 33 years) fixin to be riding on a 74 Scout II 345V8 4x4 4speed chassis that’s been sitting about 15 years.

The first vehicle that was mine to drive was my Grandpa's yellow Chevy LUV..I loved that truck. My mom's mom and dad went all over the country in that truck with a camper on the back. Grandpa had a shop and a junkyard on the side of his house he had welded up a 50 gallon tank for that truck.
My dad randomly took it away and gave it to his business partner for the partners daughter to drive. She wrecked it in a month.
The replacement was a Datsun F10 hatchback. It looked like a mini Gremlin somebody had put a series of stripes on the back quarter panel like a gremlin. It was the first front wheel drive that was in fairly large circulation.
Racing through neighborhoods with my friends that little Dotson was faster because it pulled through the corners with that front wheel drive. I still prefer drifting with rear wheel drive though.

Those Internationals yeah buddy who collects International nowadays. But today is a new video finding a Chevy LUV truck. How lucky can you be. There's not many in the world left. So if I had my choice and had the cash in a way to go get it that would be my puppy I would love truck
Buddy of mine had one of those when we were young. His came complete with honeycomb wheels with wide tires and a 8" foam padded racing steering wheel. He got a workout every time he had to park it. ( Manual steering)

My late dad had the UK version of this LUV in the late 1980's which was known here as a Bedford KB. He bought it from the local District Council fleet sell off.
They were all essentially a badged-up Isuzu Faster pick-up made in Japan as Isuzu was by then 35% GM owned.
