I work as an Assistant Executive (Customer Service) at Vistara and use Amadeus. Now I can say without any hesitation that I’m about to lose my job.
Do you feel the technology is there where it can fully do your job or is it making you more productive?
@@mohak_mangal Yes, it can book a reservation as booking a ticket is nothing more than choosing a segment, sector, and asking for personal details. On the other hand, it can easily run a cryptic window and can view and modify the itinerary. As we use Salesforce for tagging and looking for existing data or creating new cases based on the name associated with the phone number. Even the entire information is within Salesforce so it’s a very simple task for AI to do that. Even Amadeus also uses automation as most of the time we don’t need to calculate fare difference, K3 (GST), YR, IN, and other taxes, and I can say Amadeus, along with Salesforce, is capable enough to do all the tasks with just automation and simple prompts. For me I don’t think I can save my job even after learning a black book of prompts.
@@user-qd4xs8zb8s when confused blame Modi.
Most of the new jobs which were created in India after Liberalization policies were service sector jobs. After AI boom, these jobs are becoming replaceable and imposing costs on the company for services which can be done by less employees. Had these jobs truly been in research driven and product related, it would've been highly unlikely companies would fire employees. I might also add, it probably was bound to happen as these jobs which are being laid off were replaceable from the get-go.
@@sickomode6440 this is a very underrated and well put comment. i have the same views but find myself scared to say them because i know how triggered and sensitive people can be when it comes to their source of living. but it is the objective reality, and i'm so happy SOMEONE out there gets it. seriously, you're a cool person
Previous generations who procreated mindlessly are to blame for this. They have blood on their hands. Due to this, the life of the average person in this country is simply not worth living.
Disadvantages of this extreme overpopulation:
1. Toxic and hypercompetitive education system that only focuses on marks.
2. Overcrowded classrooms, roads, hospitals, parks, public places, tourist places, etc.
3. Road accidents and road rages.
4. Unavailability of bus and train tickets, even during urgency.
5. No footpaths on most roads, severely restricting walking space.
6. No parking space due to which half of the road space is occupied by parked vehicles.
7. Rise of obesity in young Indians due to the unavailability or overcrowding of parks, open spaces or recreational centres.
8. Young Indians preferring to stay indoors because of the depressing crowd outdoors.
9. Auditorium-sized classrooms with 250-300 students preparing for competitive exams which have less that 0.5% selection rate.
10. Severe unemployment causing huge stress to students and young adults during their prime years and prompting them to take extreme steps.
11. Low, meagre salaries even when you are overworked because you are easily replaceable.
12. Rising obesity, diabetes and heart diseases because people only think about their careers.
It's madness all around.
Scary😢
True but blaming illiterate people of a different era for procreating doesn't fix anything.

@@elmo4672 it's govts of few states which even today are playing caste politics instead of prioritising what is necessity. In south india, govts worked on population first. A quick note: The suggestion that what prompt engineers do is "fine tuning" is misleading. "Fine tuning" has a specific meaning in the world of generative AI, and most prompt engineers are not neccessarily focused on fine-tuning. The actual work is prompt refinement to improve outputs or enhance model capabilities. This is different from fine-tuning, which involves training a model on additional data to elicit additional capabilites or add to a model's knowledge corpus.

The reason is that India is solely focused on the service sector rather than industry. The problem with the service sector is that companies can easily replace or terminate workers, and it only offers jobs to those who are educated or have received education, thereby excluding uneducated individuals from impoverished backgrounds. This results in a gap between the poor and wealthy classes. Additionally, this sector is entirely dependent on Western countries. India needs to prioritize the industry over the service sector.

Absolutely agree! The shift to remote work could have been a game-changer, preventing mass layoffs in Indian corporates and startups. Until 2021, there was a frenzy of hiring, but now, instead of embracing remote work and saving costs, some are succumbing to the pressure of the real estate mafia. If they faced cash crunch, selling office space or transitioning to remote work could have been viable options. It's disheartening that in the name of AI and efficiency, people are being laid off unnecessarily. The government needs to step up and prioritize the interests of the workforce over cozying up to the real estate mafia

@@adityatripathi9125 "Always be required for Validation", Until they don't.
Here are some of my takes on the various points Mohak addressed in the video. Amazing video!! No other Indian UA-camr made a video on this topic with such nuanced takes.
I think programming would still be required. Natural language isn't specific, it is vague. You need specificity for programming. Jensen's take has largely divided opinions. So, I feel knowing how to program is and will still be quite important.( Paul Graham also thinks the same.) Just knowing how to code won't be enough but it might become essential.
As for jobs, experts said that we won't require radiologists anymore but we still do. So, yeah there will be a lot of jobs that will be replaced, many will be created. And then there will be many jobs which won't require as many people as earlier. ( Just imagine how many more people would have banks employed if there were no computers and digitalisation but today every bank also employs a lot of software engineers.)
Also there is still a BIG problem of LLMs providing wrong info ( Air Canada example that you gave, lawyers citing non existent cases in court, and many more). So we are quite far away from replacing costumer service and BPOs.
Lastly, layoffs are largely happening due to the course correction that is happening post the zero interest rate period and in many cases companies are just using AI as an excuse for the same. But AI surely is in its bull run period and companies are pivoting to AI/ adopting it. However, whenever you hear founders talking about Al replacing jobs in the future, it is quite often a pitch.
I think the best way forward for all of us is just being vigilant and acting quickly and keep learning!!!!!
Exactly 💯
You have absolutely read my mind here. Every single point raised in this is absolutely on point. I'm extremely worried about all economies that rely heavily on outsourced work due to cheap labour. Because that "cheap labour" is now free labour via AI. And this is only going to exacerbate income inequality both between economies and also within C-suite and entry level employees.
Misleading. Layoffs due to generative ai hasn't started yet. Current layoffs are due to over hiring and over production of same skillset people. Companies citing ai led to layoffs are bsing. It gives a perception that the company is cutting down cost. Paytm fired because it was asked by rbi to shut down the lending department. It had nothing to do ai. Mostly US AND non indian companies are facing fear due to recession and that is why indians are facing job losses. Because majority of MMCs hire indians in bulk. Fully india based companies are hardly laying off people.
Someone said in the comments:
"Population is the biggest problem in the country"
But no one gets to the details of it. Why is population so high. Let me tell you why.
Its because of the fact that in India once an individual is 28-30 he or she HAS TO GET MARRIED. Hence HAS TO HAVE KIDS. Therefore, population is the end result.
The culture is the problem, the notion of "Shaadi nhi karoge to family ki naak kat jayegi" is the problem.
Remove this notion. Remove population. Its that simple. Fix the damn "Shaadi" culture.
I will not bring any kids into this rotten unfair world. I may marry, but no kids. This life is pointless suffering anyway, so rather not make it more hard for myself and the newborn human.
I totally agree with you but having kids isn't a problem...if everyone tries for 1 child it will start reducing and 2 child would make it constant... it's having kids more then 2 is a problem.

Even i got scared of these news. But the truth is these companies had unsustainable hirings during pandemic.
Now profit is low, so they are firing in hordes. I think indian students should focus more on small and middle sized companies. There are lots of them. Maybe the package won't be that high and life won't be glamorous. But security is actually much higher. And when you work in small and middle size comapnies you are closer to the ground reality. A state bank branch manager has actually more skills than a celebrated investment bank analyst.
The layoffs are mostly in IT companies and its cyclical. You wont here layoff in energy sector, manufacturing, health care, construction, banks, insurance. But I always this happening in IT, becasue jobs depend on projects. The more client projects the more is the hiring and vice versa. In one or two years you will again see ramapnt hiring especially when winter is over in startups.

I love watching your videos,as a data scientist and NLP professional, just wanted to clarify that NLP is not a language but it is a technique or algorithm that enables computers to understand and generate human language.
And yes, those who know how to use these tools effectively will take jobs of those who dont know how to use these tools.

Le video : coding and coders will soon become outdated
Le sponsor : wanna learn coding?😂
No matter what we learn there is always something who gonna replace us
I agree that ai is helping in productivity and also it writes code but understand that it gives us template but as a developer you have to customize it as per business need and compliance. Also apart from pushing code to git there are n number of things to make your code live and working and that requires skills that comes with experience. Chat gpt have data set till 2021.
Thanks bro. Helps alot in searching job. Amazing research 👏🏻👏🏻
What an amazing video. 100% on point information.🔥
Some corrections
Computational thinking is not a real thing, what you are talking about is system design thinking. This can also be automated but not by current models, but this is not far away (check out AGI and ASI)
Prompt Engineering does not do fine-tuning, "Fine-tuning" is a specific thing in AI models lifecycle where you kind of train generic models with your specific data. This is an expensive exercise (less expensive than training a model though)
Prompt Engineering is just writing prompts that give good outcomes... (read about Chain of thought prompts, ReAct prompts etc)
Very Comprehensive nothing like this I have found so far and this is very enlightening. thank you
Thanks dear for the valuable information ❤
Insightful video. Thanks Mohak and team.
I would like to correct you regarding Jobs which will be replaced by AI .You mentioned Tele marketer or a Bank Professional . Both of these Jobs require sales skill .A tele marketer or a Bank Professional not just has to Pitch his product They have to somehow Convince even force sell at times ,Visit customers house for selling Products like Fixed Deposit , Mutual Fund ,Life Insurance .Without these sales conversions The company will never make any Profit. Not every time a Customer will have need for the product but it is the Job of the Banker to sell it anyways by any means necessary. I would highly request you to do a deep research on a bankers Or a telemarketers Job or If you have a Banker friend ask him how is the sales Pressure in his Job. You will be surprised that Selling a product is not easy and AI doing it in near future is Impossible.
I'm a 2014 graduate and i got my 1st job in a big 4. Due to the nature of my work I worked closely with the IT team who would always talk abt AI and how in the next 10 years a lot of "Human Work" would not exist as it will be automated using AI, this was back in 2015 at the time i dint think anything of it but now here we are almost 10 years later with AI taking over almost every field.
I’m so depressed at this point due to unemployment that I can’t watch the vid…just read a few comments & I can’t take it anymore!

The most logical video I've seen in this topic. Great analysis Mohak as always
I may sound layman but this is my POV.
This is exactly why older generations always used to focus on government jobs. Private jobs existed at that time also, maybe in some other domain and maybe it a little bit less but it was there. You will earn less in govt. jobs but at least it is better then the case where you have 50lpa in morning and YOU ARE FIRED email in the evening.
And those who say that "Keep Learning To stay in Private", it is practically not possible and biologically as well to learn continuously for a common man.
I am not straight away saying that govt. job is always better than pvt. and Also I hate those people who want govt. job so that they don't have to work. I just want to say that this situation is a tight slap on the face of people who make fun of all govt. employees and straight away downgrade them.
yes my mom also wants govt jobs,, my father is so lucky his entire 30yrs of life he only got govt jobs
today he is scientist with 40LPA with all govt and army facilities for free, no tax in army canteens along with medical facilites. i just want my fathers job . his job is also scientiest in abdul kalam research centre, so
status+ money + job security as govt+ no tax on daily items+ army facilities. bro this is heaven..
@@user-SkmBeats Most of the Govt. departments are not at all contributing meaningfully, the value addition is near to zero. PSUs and other defense-related companies are the worst. Great Video Mohak, I am currently working in AI. But I beg to differ with your opinion that AI will replace the job for the service based companies. Primarily reason being that the majority of the project handled by companies like Infy, TCS are quite old tech used by major banking companies. Their client do not wish to upgrade to new tech because of cost reasoning. And technologies such as ERP, Mainframe which are very old are not we suited by current AI application. However, agree with your point that productivity will be enhanced drastically.
