As many as 300 MILLION jobs could be impacted by the advent of AI ... & India might be one of WORST hit - we have a large base of unskilled youth who are waiting for employment ... but their jobs will be taken by AI.
On the other hand - NASSCOM says that India is the most AI ready amongst G20 nations. Question is will we be able to pivot and up-skill before the AI tsunami hits us bad???
A LOT of comments saying AI cannot replace humans - (sure not right away) but they are replacing Human Jobs as we speak - www.bbc.com/ne...

As a computer science student, this is really true for the entire world. Government needs to place strict regulations on AI soon.Everything is getting automated. My suggestions to teenagers or school students -> Start learning machine learning. Jobs will be changed for sure. Once quantum computers arrive, growth of AI will be on exponential level.
And what about the competion if every one starts learning same thing how any jobs will be left

The open source community in AI has become very powerful. With the tools today you can create your own LLM and a custom chatbot also. Even chatgpt will help you with that. People like Elon Musk are not worried about our future, they are worried that the power and future is not in their hands.
They are worried about end of Capitalism when people would start demanding common ownership some point in future
I agree with your opinion 👍

Agree. What's stopping people from creating their own worlds with group created and limited currencies among other things. Our whatsapp groups and their gyan are a case in point about alternative universe or alternative perceived truths... Take your pick😑
Looks like you are in tech field. can you share some open source projects of ai also if any content about build own chat bot with help of chatgpt
Being a Computer science engineer and someone who has great interest in AI with few basic level research papers published in it... I can say this ai threat is real... Government and international bodies need to intervene in the functioning of tech gaints asap. We already saw what happened in US elections in 2016 and brexit...
but in india there is hardly any conversation about this - our country will be hit in a big way
With all due respect, As much as I recognize that this will have a massive impact, I don't think it's to the level that needs govt intervention.
AGI is still at least a decade away, and that too IF it's possible.. And it's a big IF.
@hulk i don't think u have seen AutoGPT yet. The curve of AI is exponential. The moment it picks up, it scales so fast that no one can match it's pace then.
@@RajSekharK I work full-time in this field. I'm very familiar with auto-gpt.
The future is either AGI with complete white collar irrelevance, or an impressive bot with quite a few bugs.
I'm leaning on the latter, as I don't think we'll see true AGI anytime soon...
Trust me we're held back by lack of proper data/computational power.

Things have started to change. I am remotely working from India for a big digital marketing/web development company in Chicago. The company have fired 3 article writers and 4 programmers in the last 4-6 months. I am hanging in there as I am bug tester. Thing twice if you are planning to take a career in software development/coding. (Unless it is python or automation). If AI can do bug testing tasks as well, most of the coding jobs will disappear. Just like all STD booth owners lost their job once mobile phone become mainstream. I am thinking about quitting the job and start a cow/poultry farm. We definitely need Al but we only need Al when human beings are less in number and humans need more help in their fields or any grounds till then humans must be empolyed and this technology can be used in future
Google and computers were different. Google and computer can't operate by themselves they need humans for executions, but this time AI is different AI can operate and work without humans only prompt engineers needed to supervise AI tools like chat gpt etc. Never predict future based on past outcomes (like Google computer etc) or you will be taken aback.
@@VikramjitSingh924 then do what? live with the assumption that AI will take over our jobs & then our lives? Clearly the global govts are not taking enough action to restrict the development of AI. If AI takes over the world's economy, so be it. there's nothing the common man can do anyways.
Businesses that are encouraging and using AI can eventually impact the purchasing power of their own customers. Because for a lot many companies, nearly half of their customer base constitutes of people from their own industry. In that way, it can indirectly affect their own business.

Being a researcher in AI and neural networks, all I can say is that it all comes down to ethical values and morals of a team behind the production of a fully self aware AI. The biggest hurdle in India is age barrier for talented folks to re-skill and re-enter the workforce after a certain age, say, late forties or early fifties, because both men & women of this age group are considered done & dusted!.😥. While unfortunately, this age barrier doesn't apply to the political or celebrity class in India..😤....harsh reality of Life!
As a professional in the AI industry, I grapple with these questions every day looking at how fast the growth of AI is and how we can never be prepared for all possibilities. The big problem is that there is not a lot of focus on responsibly and ethically developing AI. And it is a function of how ethically we as a society are, especially digitally. Think of all the online chatter that we produce daily, and that it becomes data from which AIs learn. The more hatred, biases, vitriol we generate, the more skewed the data becomes. It is like bringing up a child who is inherently stronger and much smarter than you right from birth, but also learns and grows at an exponential speed that you can't control.
However, no one can really predict what forms AI's future will take. So all projections and doomsday scenarios should be taken with a pinch of salt. But we need to as a society think about AI and its impact on humanity, because we are all stakeholders without even having a hand in building it.

As an (Robotic Process Automation)RPA developer, my primary focus is on creating automation bots that streamline repetitive tasks. While I am aware that this may result in job displacement for some individuals, I am compelled to continue this work due to the lack of alternatives. If I were to step away from my role, someone else would likely step in and do the same. Consequently, every time I deploy a bot in a production environment, I am faced with the sobering realization that someone may lose their job. Uncertainty clouds my future as I grapple with these implications.

I read Indian govt is bringing regulations on AI . Then we as country of 65 percent working youth aged 35 or less than 35 should be more aware about this topic . All parties have to come together.
An interesting thing to consider here, which I recently learnt about is the Doorman fallacy. Basically, in the 60s, when rotating doors became a craze in US, doormen started to loose their jobs in hotels. But soon, the hotels found it damaging their profits. Basically, having a human interaction at the door boasts their business, as people found it more reassuring. The job of a doorman wasn't just to open doors, but also to provide a human interaction with a visitor. Well, it's ofcourse very different, but still a possibility; though AI could easily turn out to be what happened to the English weavers when Mills came along, during Industrial Revolution.
Ya .. I also think but the advertisement and marketing sector will replaced because it more need analytical skills
@@alwaywithtech7560 Might be, but I think it's much harder for most people to disconnect a call with a real human than an AI. As I said, it could really go either way, as these calls very much depends on pursuing the customers.
I think our Indian youth is completely thinking /doing jobs in IT sector, technology sector, Likewise they have to explore jobs in other sectors also to run our country. We should invest our knowledge in various other sectors for development of our country rather relying on one sector.

CA is more than filing tax returns. IB, private equity, trading etc...many still work 16+ hrs daily in these, it's long way to be given to aI
AI is learning constantly and it makes progress every day at a massive pace. It can do most things like filing taxes, running marketing campaign, managing inventory etc. on click of a button. It can even create complex software and deploy it for you. Both skilled and unskilled people are at risk. It will take us to a future where most jobs would not be required and the world economy will go to the dogs.. The governments all over the world need to act soon, its going to be a challenge even to create a regulation for this field.
@@spellcheck5393 brother I said that I am pursuing CA, it means I am CA aspirant. I am working in private CA firm as a trainee.

My friend who is doing CS IS SAYING everyone is NIT is doing just AI like mad Men, so that they won't loose job instead get jobs to manage AI but the current one might get layoffs. 😊
It doesn't matter if it would be a part of india or not but the international companies that hire indians in IT sectors would give them work based on AI and if that is not possible a lot of companies would just vanish from India creating more unemployment then ever and that would not be a good call for any political party and neither is it possible to replace such jobs even if government makes a little space for those people and majority of them would still be jobless and would take the streets, that does not sound what a government would want to deal with.
It's true for some more years only wait for context understand skill in ai. Then all office type jobs will vanish
@@gulabpatel7477 Not all managing ai will secure jobs in CS because you obviously cannot have an artificial intelligence manage itself or it can break down or break free, there will be some external factors controlling and monitoring ita existence and those would be CS graduates.

This is really true, Akash. The future of Indians is bleak in terms of employment. Sometimes, I feel our children may not have left anything to do for themselves. Unemployment is ahead of future generations, where millions of children studying now be accommodated in the future, when technology is replacing the human resources.
Not everyone can be AI Engineers,
Everyone's interest is completely different,
We should focus more on conventional jobs such as Farming, fishing, pottery, and other stuff,
And those who are interested in AI Engineering can be upskilled and can focus more on creating an Indian based AI which can be used by any Indian for any purpose for free (Govt. Should back it)...

The pace at which these technologies are being developed, is what's scary. There should be lot of precision while creating these technologies so that they cater for human needs and not overpower humanity. Right now it's just a competition. The destruction is bound to happen.

@@parmodmundlia7023 yes, AI will take a lot from us, but not our fundamental desire to surpass ourselves. AI will damage us, but AI is not original. Human consciousness is. Only human consciousness is capable of going against self, because it is born with a constant sense of incompleteness, that seeks out completion. Don't expect AI to seek freedom from incompleteness, and seek final rest. Dissolution of self, this is one original human task that AI cannot copy. That's all I am saying. 1) MBA colleges most jobs are sales. And companies take Group Discussion. They take 15 students and select top 4-5 max in GD round. And so many IIM graduates unplaced.
2) Charted Accountant is better career option after BBA.
3) CSE is good but there will be competition. Most colleges are shit. Learn coding from UA-cam etc.
@@rh334 and what About AI&ML l heard the new trend will be AI after 5-6years I think it will became boom .
Why the 'Dune' Universe Banned AI: Humanity rose up in a revolt against AI, which had reached a level of power and control over human life that was deemed intolerable. The rebellion culminated in banning AI and issuing a new commandment: “Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind.”
It has a solution. If people loose job due to AI, then there will be less demand in market due to less money in hand. On other hand if company use AI, it will increase production and supply as well. So due to less demand and more supply, companies will not make profits. And companies cannot survive without profit. So there will be some rules or regulations in future limiting use of AI.
May be let's see hope.for the best

One big problem with AI innovation is vast amount of money it takes to train it, for, e.g. GPT takes a lot of processing power to train and keep it running takes huge money as well, most Indian startup can't really afford to do things like those. We need to start working fast on it.
it is not at all a problem. Not every startup requires a premium version of AI tools to do their tasks. There are ample free tools in the space already.
They say that the technology is advancing.. however who is advancing it.. its we.. the human beings... We should know the limitations... whatever advancement we have achieved in the technology before AI was more than enough. When u knew that its gonna impact so many jobs.. then what was the need?
It's sad that our media which are typical parents and grandparents consume doesn't cover such topics and when i talk about any relevant topic they ignore me like i am make no sense to them

AI is unlikely to significantly hamper many jobs in the near future, as it will always require an 'operator' or a 'Prompt engineer' to function effectively. It's important to note that current AI technology has not yet achieved the level of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), let alone TrueAI, which would indicate self-awareness and independence from human input. Therefore, concerns about widespread job displacement should be focused on a potential scenario that might arise in approximately 10 years, assuming we make significant progress towards achieving TrueAI. However, it is important to acknowledge that developing TrueAI is an immensely challenging task as it involves grappling with the complex concept of consciousness, which is not easily reducible to lines of code.
AI needs a software developer to control and give it a proper direction ...this is your point but what will that AI do? Have you ever thought of that..AI will do the tasks which were previously done by individuals..
So, AI is going to take up jobs. If you find me wrong go ask out to any UI/UX designers, Copywriters, Graphic Designers and QA Testers.
There will be jobs for sure, but the count would be very less as compared to what it is today.
