I had a menu 13 us mre for dinner tonight. They totally forgot the matches in the accessory pack. Its the 4th or 5th mre I've checked out where they forgot them. Seems like a potentially important item to forget
@markthompson8733 they are not deleted. I have had various 2023 and 2024 us mre rations and they all had the matches. The ones they forgot them in were 2017-2019 era
I think it’s just two meals included in the pack (breakfast & evening meal) as you are likely to be on the move during the short hours of daylight in an Arctic theatre, hence all the snacks of nuts, etc that you can eat on the move
Most British ration packs have a snack as the midday meal since 24 packs were introduced in 1944. The midday snack is often a meat spread/pate to be eaten with biscuits and then other sundries like chocolate etc.
As a British soldier, biscuits brown with cheese and the barbecue peanuts are top tier! The only thing that beats them is the chilli peanuts. The caramel hot chocolate is also unbeatable!
Great review, think you should have had a small bottle, or sachet, of Tabasco sauce in that sundries pack. Most Brits would have taken the custard as dessert with the main meal.
If this is the episode you were saying you lost footage of a lot of parts I want to be the first to say you did an amazing job editing it to make it work brother! Great review I don’t think anyone would notice if you didn't make a post about it to be honest
The Cola drink, (if it's the same as other British ration packs) tastes the same as Cola flavoured gummies we got in the 70s and 80s. Iliked them and enjoyed that drink.
I just got a 2016 orp off ebay and it has the cola beverage base, and the cola gummies. I'm curious how they are going to taste! I thought it was odd to see cola flavored gummies! Odd for someone from the states anyway
The various soft drink powders are great hot in cold weather and the boiled lemon sweets can even be added to hot water for a warming, weak lemon drink.
Note: "Custard is a culinary preparation based on sweetened milk, cheese, or cream cooked with egg or egg yolk to thicken it". Probably not what you are getting in the US. Also, note that all these products are designed for use in extreme cold, hence the chocolate and peanut butter, for example, are not as thick as usual; and as somebody already said, lunch is snack based due to the short period of daylight.
Awesome review as always! Is it just me or does that seem like a very meat light meal and extremely protein light with the exception of the chicken and the nuts?
Hello I like watching your videos. Can you please make sure they are edited to be in stereo. Should be a button press under your audio setting. I got up early today and I only had left when watching this with headphones on. I did this same thing when editing a few times with a new mic. Thanks again for making this content. I really like watching what countries other than the United States. Cheers!
It is not a bad ration pack, breakfast and dinner are the main events as you are on the move in the short arctic days. The cola drink is an avoid for me, likewise the raspberry is not a winner with me although I'm more a tea drinking Brit at heart. Compared to the 1980s artic rations these are streets ahead and most troops will like them. Plenty of snacks to keep nibbling on when on the move or on stag, always a winner. Good review, you must have been feeling mighty full at the end of the day!
Love your content and reviews! You’re right up there with Steve! Gotta ask… trying to figure out your accent…are you a Virginia native? Also love your LOTR background artwork..classic! Well done
A bit odd they didn't just use Cadbury's chocolate in it or a Bournville then some no name chocolate. Kind of would have liked more meat protein in the ration considering it's a cold weather ration. I don't think many would like that fake cheese though in the UK considering we like real cheese a lot here. The fake cola drink is a bit odd as well, it's not relaly something we drink lots of anyway so why not just a sports drink or something. Biscuits browns look great as normal though. One thing that I don't think I have seen is an MRE with Haggis in it or something, I think if you could freeze dry it or something that would make a really nice meal in the winter.
Boiled sweets …. straight in the bin …trade it out for another chocolate bar or two and watch morale increase. This thing looks bangerang boyz I’ve seen that custard before it’s definitely water not hot enough or something pretty sure it’s supposed to be smooth and creamy
The heavy percentage of snack calories over serious meal nutrition is bothersome. Snacks are good and important, but it’s probably better to have solid food options for all three meals. Custard for lunch doesn’t really cut it…
You might add a short clip showing your clean plate, and thoughts on the full ration. Perceptions change from first bite to last. Otherwise, nicely done.@@ReadinessRations
The UK is smart adding stormproof matches and water purification tabs. The U.S. should follow suit.
Every British rations comes with water tablets and stormproof matches

The US has deleted , because they have the FRH instead of fuel tabs, the matches from the accessory pack.... bad idea

Is there anyway to enjoy the cheese biscuits best? I got a 2016 orp off ebay and it has the cheese oat biscuits in it

Thanks buddy! It took like 12 hours of editing to get it to where it is 😆
@@ReadinessRations yeah you did a great job!
Dear MOD please return the little baby tabasco sauce bottles to all rations 😂
And Yorkie bars
Still a hot sauce the other British 24 hrs packs.

Yeah, not enough meat for sure.

The British midday meal in their ration packs is more a snack as troops will be on the move.
That's how it should be imo
Nice review, great to watch. thanks.
Awesome review RR

Thanks for the support!! I've lived in Georgia all my life.
hope you had fun with those biscuits browns
Weird Frankenstein bread is an accurate description 😂
snd spangles please..🤣
Being an arctic ration, heavy emphasis on sugar to add calories for cold weather activity outdoors.

Nutritious food and British cuisine do not go hand in hand. That is literally why they have no muscle tone.
@@frank-ko6deWhat a dumb comment, you sound like an absolute moron.
Nice
How do you get rations through customs? I quit ordering because they always take the mains.
It happens to the best of us. This particular one was sent by a friend of mine in the UK

Nice review- thanks! Any chance of dialing back the excessive commercials?
YT places the ads not me.
If you put the hot chocolate in the muesli , I think you would be happy
Yeah, that would have been good
could you do a kiwi (New Zealand ) patrol or 24 hr one if can get your hands on one
And after eating all that you will NOT poop for a week!
Fruit and custard is Always a pudding !!
And pudding is always dessert right?
@ReadinessRations yes, custard is usually served with a dessert such as apple pie or treacle sponge.
This is a very interestin ration
That a lot of fibers for a soldier I forsee a lot of poo 😂😂😂
5500 Kcal so equivalent to around 4 US MREs.
Musli for cold clima? damn thats a disapointment
soooo underrated
The ration?
What about those of us that love coffee black?
Take a few of your own Nescafe Gold/Blend 37 sticks with you?
I got a British 24 hour ration pack, menu 3 i think. Most was nice but the beef and dumplings was so awful, even the cat refused to eat it 😂
I live in the UK, and for the price, I think I could put together most of this far better, but not dehydrated. I guess that's the point
Not a lot of meat in that one.

If you have allergies, you would not be issued with it.
Great video, but we all know it’s pronounced “Deez Nuts” and not “these nuts”.
Cola drink should be scrapped. Just awful. But the rest of these are pretty good. If you like sweeties
You should use chopstick to mix freeze dried stuff
Please slow down when you speak, you sound like you're on fast forward and i miss a lot of what you are saying.
Go to options press the playback and set to 0.75 will slow it down
@@dipiedee87 Too much effort. I would forget how to change it back once done.

sad how far the uk has fallen. they saw the soviet union and said "yeah, gimme some of that sweet equality."
That custard looked like vomit.
Pls talkslowlly
Too much sugar
