what"s amazing is that French ration are made mostly with off the shelves cans that you could find in regular grocery stores in France , they have a huge selection of high quality can foods that I have never seen in Canada and USA

@@jermsMRE I have been to germany a few times in the region near france and they have a lot of tinned foods, too. We got a variety of fish tins like different sauces like mustard and tomato. A lot of culinary overlap between the regions, too. It's wine country in Germany. Like people have private vineyards. People age wine in their cellars. Swabia. Really a great place to visit if you want something rural, German, with a little bit of France. Black Forest is fun, too, really great smoked trout. A bit salty for me, but the Black Forest Inn is fun.

Another great review Jerms. I have seen these go for under 20£ here in Europe and am going to buy a couple to try out what all the fuzz is about.
I saw Technology Connections 1h video on freeze drying food, now I get the whole process. After seeing your video that was very interesting.
Good luck in the coming election. Hoping it's fair, just and that you the Americans get to decide what you the people want as an administration.
God bless and lots of love from Norway.

What a great price! You will not be disappointed! The freeze drying process is pretty amazing. Even more amazing is how long the food will last if done properly! I agree with you on the election 100%. At the end of the day, we need to stop letting the extremes on both sides (which are the minority of the population) run the show. Common sense and compromise seem to be lost. Hopefully it will return soon. Thanks for being here Rekleif! I appreciate the support!

Prolly one of the best French MRE review I've seen. Number 9 is one of my all time favorite as a French Vet.
Would have eaten the thing COMPLETLY different tho 😂
During my time, I had the soup at breakfast some time after the coffee.
I can't eat solids until 3/4 hours after I got up. But that's a great start for you day of work in the field.
Cassoulet at lunch, and the cold chicken for dinner.
For pate, the cereal crackers are surprisingly better than the salted ones.
And as for the chocolate drinks, I'll just mix coffee and chocolate together and add less water than recommended.

Hey Jerms! GREAT to see you review this ration! I've heard from many sources that it is one of the best military rations made. Just recently, I purchased and received 3 of these rations. I got them for a decent price, but they were still more than half a day's wages *each*. Two of them I am going to keep for my collection, and I will eat one of the 3. Actually, I purchased a whole bunch of international rations recently. I spent WAY too much money. Nothing I can't afford though. But I am probably not gonna add any more money to my savings account this year! Now I have Chinese, French, Lithuanian, Canadian, British and some US Halal MREs. I just REALLY wanted these international MREs. And I purchased at least two each, so I can eat one and save the other for my collection. I bought them from places located inside the United States. That way, they are guaranteed to arrive intact and I don't have to worry about customs ravaging the packages. They were quite a bit more money because of this, but I paid for extra peace of mind. If customs opens and of the rations, even if they don't remove anything (which they probably will), it ruins any collector value to the ration as well as losing components. I am very happy with what I got. Soon I am going to open up and eat one of these myself! I just can't wait! I want to stay on my keto diet for a few more weeks. But I will have a MRE feast around the holidays! And I will finally try a Canadian IMP! I just can't wait to eat some of these rations I got recently. Anyway, I think your review was cool! I don't really have much to say since I have never eaten one of these (yet!). Keep up the awesome reviews! I hope to see more content from you soon!

Very cool Amigo. These are one of my favorite rations. Only downside to me, the smell of the fruit nougat bars, LOL. Smells like paint thinner. LOL. Food is usually awesome. Salades say to be eaten cold. I usually heat half, try other half at room temp. Warmed up tastes better to my personal preference. It brings out more flavor. I think I will heat them all from now on. Cassoulet looks awesome. I have not tried it before. Yes, the fuel tabs are aromatic, LOL. All components look solid. Cool meal, great review. Glad you enjoyed most. Peace, John. I wasn't quite sure. Most likely for with the muesli inside. That's why I didn't add to the fill line and it still seemed runny. I just didn't want to mix it in the bag. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 👍👍

or camping coffee as we would call it, really isn't the best at all if you like coffee its always disappointing

French fries? French toast? French bread? French roast coffee? French chop Suey.¿¿ OK OK OK
I’ve always been a little concerned of heating up things in those kind of cans They use a coating I don’t know exactly what it is to keep certain things like tomato based products from reacting with aluminum cans. I don’t know if it would be good to heat up those cans because of that just a thought I’d like to find out more. I think I’d heat stuff up in my mess kit.🙃

    • @jermsMRE
      @jermsMRE  2 місяці тому

French Fries... OMG THE best French invention 😂🤣🤪 I really don't like heating in the cans but never thought about it the way you put it. It's a very good point! I hadn't seen one of those esbit kits before so I decided I should give it a go. It's the best heating kit I've seen in a ration without an FRH. But like I said in the video, I doubt I'll do it again. Not only does it burn the food, it stinks up my life! So, the mess kit on the camp stove makes more sense. Thanks for watching Randy! As always I appreciate the comment and appreciate you watching!

Hey I’ll tell you a little story. World War II Korean. Early Vietnam. Sea ration in the little steel cans that you have to open with a P 38. The little steel cans of peanut butter about a half inch high little thin cans. If you want to hear a big boom, I don’t mean firecracker boom but a big boom that I wouldn’t want to be close to Throw one of those little peanut butter cans in a burn barrel I did it by accident And then about three or four minutes? That thing. BLEW UP BIG BOOM. It threw pieces of burning material out on the grass and started a fire that I had to grab the hose and put it out. Just a little story I thought I’d let you know.
I don’t think an FRH gets that hot to cause any problems. open flame that’s another story. Talk to you later OK fine.
MCI peanut butter you ate one those peanut butter cans in a fire Booooom
