Excellent video my guy. Not many people include structured subparts in their videos :D
thank you kind sir. glad you find it helpful.
Best quality vid I've seen in a long time great work
Great vid ! What does the "texture streaming quality" do ? I can't notice any difference...
Thank you.. I Was looking for this kinda of guide
Thank you man. I hope this guide helped you as well.
I'm watching here. Thanks for sharing.
I'm playing on a gaming laptop so the pixel density is very high (1080p) so I put res scale to 90 and I can barely notice a difference and got quite a lot of fps. Even res scale 80 still looks ok and it gets very smooth.
yeah. that is also a great idea. good decision man.
This helped out quite abit for me thanks man. 90% didn't notice a difference.
hello, could you give me some advice, the point is that I would like to use a mouse when riding a motorbike, I can't use w-s-a-d in games that seem to be tempting, thanks
😃😃😃
amazing bro
Thanks for the tips - as of right now you're the only one with a video guide that also has a card similar to mine so you helped me out. Was struggling to get smooth fps till I turned down those 2 settings in the beginning. Now pushing 70-90 fps
you're welcome man. Glad it helped you. A lot of people are also experiencing erratic gpu usage below 99 percent. Fortunately, that has not been the case with this kind of setup.

Hi Matthew! I tried monitoring the usages and saw that the CPU usage dips down to 40s and GPU usage dips down to 0%. This only happens when I'm riding on mud with the bike, so that explains why Copeland's Camp and Diamond Lake lags so much with the bike. Anywhere else I don't have a problem, both CPU and GPU is at about 70-90%.
yes that probably explains it. but what's peculiar is how mud triggers it. if you're walking on mud does it happen?
@@MrSiloterio It did in Copeland's Camp earlier but at Diamond Lake it doesn't. Seems to happen only with the bike. Do I get a bottleneck or something? The weird thing is turning down every setting doesn't fix it either haha.
4k with RTX 3080 on LG OLED in HDR, this game looks absolutely beautiful!
Well jealous of you but also happy for you at the same time 💯
I agree I’m glad I desided to make 2 pc one on my lg oled runs games beautifully. And my second one is for my 1440p monitor for keyboard and mouse
First thing I tried to change was...shadows.👍
Nice. i have an 17 4770k and a GTX 980 Ti this setting i can play at 1440p with 70 fps.
mine only stutters on the bike for some reason
Fov change?
Hey my laptop specs are :
GTX 1660 Ti Max q
Ryzen 7 3750h
16 GB Dual Channel 2400Mhz RAM
500 GB SSD
120 Hz display
I think my cpu is holding the gpu back is there any way to resolve this. It is so because my game is stuttering while riding the bike.
I have 3700x and 5700xt and this is happening to me too.
Great video! You need to undervolt your 5700xt! You can get that 2000mhz with 30-40 watts less... I have the 5700xt pulse.
sorry for the late reply man. what's your overlock settings with an undervolt? I also have an issue where my OC settings don't load automatically on startup. Has this been the case for the new drivers?
@@MrSiloterio if you unvervolt with amd software, theres an option in msi afterburner that make every time you restart your pc delete wattman settings, you can disable it in msi afterburner setting -general, then you go to the bottom and disable "erase autosave startup settings"
@@sebastiann1905 ohhh.. so it's msi afterburner that resets my OC settings? I do have it on auto startup
@@MrSiloterio yeah i have it on auto startup too , happened with me before
@@MrSiloterio does it work?
What about the chromatic aberration and motion blur? Should i leave this on or turn off? I turn these off in every game because have heard that these settings are must have to turn off. Is it right?
Those settings are down to personal preference for single player games. For multiplayer though, turning off motion blur will always give you an advantage. From a performance standpoint, chromatic aberration costs zero fps since it's just a post processing effect. Motion blur on the other hand does cost something when you move the camera rapidly. It's not huge for modern GPUs but low-end GPUs will have a noticeable hit.
@@MrSiloterio Thanks much :D So as i have 6900xt id probably leave that on
If only rdr2 optimized like this game
It would be Best experience even for low end guy's
Hello. What antialising this game uses? Do you see any jaggies at all?
good news: i see no Jaggies at all on a 27-inch 1440p native screen.
bad news (not that bad tho): it uses temporal aa which can blur the image.
for me it is still the best solution for removing jaggies compared to fxaa or smaa. supersampling should be superior but that costs a LOT
@@MrSiloterio I have a 27" 1440p monitor as well. Thank god they implemented TAA as it removes pretty much all jaggies without a performance hit. Just finished installing it. Lets see how it runs.
On a 3700x 1080 ti system it gets 48fps to 58fps with everything maxed out @ 3840 x 2160 resolution.
The 10700k RTX 3080 build is about 2.5x better.
So on 1440p ultra settings with a 3090 and 3800x I should be well above 100fps
I usually get 120+fps on my rtx 3050 with dual ram
nice tips bro... but i prefer 3200 x 1800p upscaled to 4k... 1440p looks way worse and not even on the ps4 pro level lol which is also 1800p upscaled to 4k... even if you get a smooth locked 30fps and use a pad, it looks so much better
ahh i see. yeah that sounds good as well. I'm on a 27 inch monitor with 1440p native resolution so that's why I chose that. On most games though, I do use virtual super resolution and choose higher than native resolutions for downsampling. But those are just for smoothing out those jaggies.
@@MrSiloterio u gotta grab a LGC9 or cx bro... 120hz 4k. 3 ms response time in game mode. 65 inch... its like a giant monitor. it upscales 1080p 2 4k, and looks incredible.... 1440p upscaled to 4k is sick as well. but for me 3200 x 1800 is the sweet spot for 4k and performance
I have actually made a refund for this game - with lighting quality other than "LOW" I get flickering and black spots. I have RTX2080 and I have this problem only when changing these settings to higher than "low". Do you know how to fix it?
Ive a ryzen 7 5700g rtx 3070 cant pull over 50 fps mostly in the 40s 1440p cant understand why
whats your gpu usage?
Rx 5600 xt i5 9400f 16ram running on ssd
my fps is running on 70-100 maxed settings but when it render camps, cities, infestation fps drops to 40-45 and i noticed from my research that this happens mostly to amd cards what seems to be the problem?
yeah a lot of people are reporting the very same stutter issue. tbh I have no idea what's causing this. does it still occur with the new 1.01 patch?
@@MrSiloterio yep it does, and earlier I noticed when I look way down to the ground and way up to the sky my fps drops too, usually in other games fps should increase because you render less terrain. This is killing my game experience :"D
@@denzelgo3031 hmm that's really odd. i can't say what's going on behind that. try looking for reddit posts regarding this issue. I'm sure a lot of users are already looking for answers in reddit.

How do you play without Vsync, doesn't makes you crazy? Or is it just me? I can find the perfect settings, but still having problems with stuttering when I use Vsync... This goes for almost any game
im on a gsync monitor so framerates between 60 and 144 is still displayed perfectly even if the output is variable.
@@MrSiloterio Thank you! I've seen how it works but I wasn't really sure of the effectiveness.. Do you mind sharing the monitor model?
Game lags and stutter so much on my rig bro no matter what setting i use whenever i am around a camp or going to the camp it starts freezing and won't stop I can't play at all it's just stuck there and after a minute or two it becomes normal and starts freezing again right after please help bro
My specs -
I3 9100f
8gb ram
Gtx 1650 super
1tb hdd
Could be the RAM bro since you only got 8 GB. A lot of games now stutter A LOT on 8 GB ram. You could try using MSI Afterburner to monitor your RAM consumption while playing the game to know if that is really the case. What's the RAM frequency btw?
@@MrSiloterio it usually stayd between 6400mb to 6800mb not more than that. Ram frequency 2400mhz
@murnavid i am running as an administrator guess i need 8gb more ram
@murnavid bro i3 9100f is capable enough bro when game stabilizes a bit it give 50-60fps in camp i know it bottlenecks my gpu but it's not that huge difference if game is running smooth in your rig then why not in mine bro. Not matter what setting i apply stutters just won't go i even tried render scale 10 and low setting with 720p result was same no difference 😞
No matter what I reduce I get very bad lags at Copeland's camp area and the Diamond Lake area. Only with the bike it seems. I cannot fix it, it is like mud + bike = low fps no matter what. I don't understand what is going on.
Edit: It is 100% mud. When I'm off the mud the game is smooth, on mud however the game is very laggy.
I suspect that could be a cpu bottleneck. What is your gpu usage during those moments?
@@MrSiloterio I haven't checked yet but for reference I have an i5-6600K and a GTX1080 with 16GBs of RAM. I play at 4K now but the same happens in 1080 and even 800x600 resolutions.
Me too. It only happen when I enter camps
@@gleam6370 I tried uninstalling my drivers with DDU and reinstalled them. The issue is not resolved, however it seems to have gotten better. Maybe you can try that.

Will this game be good on a rtx 3050ti laptop
With the proper settings, yes it can be.
Love how you included TL;DR. Knowing that they are some lazy people out there haha
well tbh i'm a lazy person myself and would always look for TLDR versions of stuff haha. helps save my precious time. 🤣
i was wondering where my fps went and i turned the render scale down from 200% to 120 and it went from 60fps to 120
haha yeah lol that value should be at 100 not 200. that means it would render your chosen resolution exactly as it is. 200 is doubling that which is supersampling already.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
to be honest, Days Gone on PC is one of the best examples of how to optimize a game
PD: turning to high foliage draw distance is very helpful too with no cuality impact
yes, i agree.
I hope you're joking it's the worst optimized game I've played in a while. It uses DX11 in 2021 (sic!) and additionally, for some reason it's stuttering as hell. Using DXVK makes stuttering less prominent but it still happens. This game is really good with gameplay and story but I couldn't imagine worse optimization in 2021.
@@RealAdiker okay... XD i guess you never played Valhalla, Rdr2, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 5 or 6...
@@RealAdiker what are your specs?
Hey man do you get fps drops in the camps? I have a ryzen 5 2600 and an msi rx vega 56. I’m able to crush every game at max settings and have 60fps+ for some reason when I hit the camps on here my fps goes from like 70-80 to 30-45 idk if it’s an issue they gotta fix or what. I don’t gain any fps by bringing the settings down so I play on max settings
hmm. you know what, i think I know what you mean. Now for camps i dont have fps drops that could result from gpu usage drops.
But for some of the large towns, i can observe weird moments where fps does drop. Example is the town where you find lisa, after you fight that bear and the time of day begins to transition to night, when you look back at the town itself from the restaurant near the gas station, my fps does drop from 80 plus to the 70s.
And it's not just because the gpu is being fully loaded, gpu usage does indeed drop as well. This could either mean some cpu bottleneck issue or a game engine one, but as you said, turning down settings doesn't do anything to help it all. I even tried downgrading to multiple patch versions but the issue is still there.
So i guess this is just entirely within the build of the game itself. I have the 5600x and it still exhibits those drops you mentioned - albeit not that extreme, but it is indeed there. Let's just hope the devs address this in future patches.
@@MrSiloterio I gotchu bro thanks for the reply! I was digging through Reddit and I found out people with amd cards are having issues with fps. I really enjoy this game but in some areas it’s almost unplayable. My pc crushes almost every game at max settings so that’s why I’m confused. People on Reddit said it’s an issue with dx11 and amd cards. People said to download dxvk but I have no idea how to do that but apparently it helped some people. I think the best thing to do is to wait for a patch/update like you’re saying. It’s a shame but it’s still enjoyable
@@MrSiloterio if you can copy and paste this link and watch the video. This is what is happening to me too www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/DaysGone/comments/njhb15/big_stuttersfps_drops_in_days_gone_when_looking/
@@OhhWarp ahh DXVK allows for a game to utilize vulkan to override the Dx11 limitations. however, it's not always beneficial since the load that would have been originally handled by the cpu will now be transferred to the gpu. If your card is weak and you're more or less running the game originally at near 90 percent gpu load, running it with dxvk could stll yield the same fps drops and even worse. I tried this myself in gta iv and found that running the game with a cpu bottleneck is far more better than brute forcing the game to fully utilize my gpu.
I suggest comparing two exact quick savepoints on dx11 and dxvk to know whether it truly helps or not.
@@MrSiloterio ohhhh okay thanks for clearing that up! I was really confused about it. I’ll probably just wait out for an update then. It just sucks because amd cards sometimes have a disadvantage even though they are powerful cards. Thanks for the video/comments bro I appreciate it 🙏🏻
What about nvidea mx 350
Which resolution should be applied??
How are the fans on your gou when you play this game? My 3090 always mad.
haha I've set my fans curve to be at max 85 percent speed so the noise is always there when a certain temp value is reached. not a big deal for me tho.
Need help I turned my setting down to the lowest and it’s still lagging so much, this is the first time it was lagging like this and it’s my only game that lags like that, gta 5 runs perfectly why can’t days gone run good
oh no. what values did you change?
@@MrSiloterio nothing
@@MrSiloterio just one day started lagging the only game that lags in my pc
@@brandonrosen6582 hmm.. in what way is it lagging? are there fps drops? or slow motion?
@@MrSiloterio like stuttering
Any way to make it sharper or something, textures looks so dull (boring) and lack of detail like really game frome console lol but like ps2..
You could increase render resolution beyond 100 if you find the image at 1440p blurry. The game heavily uses temporal anti aliasing to resolve jaggies and those crawling lines. Textures on max detail still looks amazing though. There is a lot of variety on environmental props found on roads such rocks, cracks, twigs, and debris.
Look into ReShade. Use a HDR preset and vibrance, with slight sharpening.
Use alt+f3 with nvidia for freestyle to add filters including sharpness
Tier 1 gang
The Human eyes can't see more than 30 fps.
What are you smoking?
I'm pretty sure human eyes can only see up to 75 fps where they can register each individual frame and be able to notice differences in each frame, 200 fps is about the same as real life motion but I'm not sure if it's really needed. I can barely play games at 30 fps anymore, I nearly always try to make sure I get a consistent 60 fps with only minor dips since playing at 30 fps and below for extended periods of time begins to hurt my eyes so 30 fps is definitely not the limit for human eyes
