15:35 is where all the settings are shown at once.
You are the hero we deserved
Yeah, yeah (ooo)
Uh, hey hey
All right, yeah
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Gotta say it again now
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Yes he is
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
I want to take a minute or two, and give much respect due
To the man that's made a difference in my world
And although most men are ho's, he flows on the down low
'Cause I never heard about him with another girl
But I don't sweat it because it's just pathetic
To let it get me involved in that he said she said crowd
I know that ain't nobody perfect
I give props to those who deserve it
And believe me y'all, he's worth it
So here's to the future 'cause we got through the past
I finally found someone that can make me laugh
You so crazy, I think I want to have your baby
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Yes he is
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Gotta say it again now
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
My man is smooth like Barry, and his voice got bass
A body like Arnold with a Denzel face
He's smart like a doctor with a real good rep
And when he comes home he's relaxed with Pep
He always got a gift for me every time I see him
A lot of snot-nosed ex-flames couldn't be him
He never ran a corny line once to me yet
So I give him stuff that he'll never forget
He keeps me on Cloud Nine just like the Temps
He's not a fake wannabe tryin' to be a pimp
He dresses like a dapper don, but even in jeans
He's a God sent original, the man of my dreams
Yes, my man says he loves me, never says he loves me not
Tryin' to rush me good and touch me in the right spot
See other guys that I've had, they tried to play all that mac shit
But every time they tried I said, "That's not it"
But not this man, he's got the right potion
Baby, rub it down and make it smooth like lotion
Yeah, the ritual highway to heaven
From seven to seven he's got me open like Seven Eleven
And yes, it's me that he's always choosin'
With him I'm never losin', and he knows that my name is not Susan
He always has heavy conversation for the mind
Which means a lot to me 'cause good men are hard to find
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Say it again y'all
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
I said what a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
My man gives real loving that's why I call him Killer
He's not a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am, he's a thriller
He takes his time and does everything right
Knocks me out with one shot for the rest of the night
He's a real smooth brother, never in a rush
And he gives me goose pimples with every single touch
Spends quality time with his kids when he can
Secure in his manhood 'cause he's a real man
A lover and a fighter and he'll knock a nucca out
Don't take him for a sucker 'cause that's what he's about
Every time I need him, he always got my back
Never disrespectful 'cause his mama taught him that
I got a good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
A mighty mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Yes he is
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
What a mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
What a mighty mighty good man
What a mighty good man

Brilliant helpful video full of research that I'll absolutely use. Appreciate the hard work guys!
Very good job, thanks for covering this - saved a lot of time us testing each and every setting! I salute you!
4:05 That fps graph looks like a Richter scale during an earthquake.
This is just awesome Tim thank you so much! Forza horizon 4 custom preset performs like a champion and I expect nothing less for this title.
This combined with the 50 gpu benchmark is the best combo for optimizing any gpu!
True. Optimizing Forza Horizon 4 helped me to get around 20fps more now with nearly no visual difference. Awesome findings on the performance hits on AC Odyssey, great work!
Mind sharing what are the key settings, at the moment I get around 60fps in ultra preset 4k, but some settings could be still cranked up :)
Thank you so so much for going through the (time-consuming) process of gathering all this data and sharing it with the world
Really helpful!
You guys are actually amazing, was struggling with my 1070!
Been watching you for years, I never watch a performance video unless its yours, you have literally the best performance-content
Thanks for all the hard work over the years!
I didn't find such a detailed guide video on Game Graphics settings anywhere else on YT, great job man... You saved a lot of people...
Awesome how much effort you put in to make such an in depth guide! Helps me to optimize it on my 1660 ti for 1440p
Very helpful, thank you so much!
This was awesome, thank you. I've spent more time in the benchmark mode than playing the game. I still wasn't having too much luck. Thank you for making my gaming experience better.
Thank you all for your work on this! I was getting so sick and tired of all the game restarts just to test one setting!
Are there any other UA-camrs doing this kind of video? I'm surprised I haven't seen any, because this is a freaking gold mine of info! Will save people so much time. All we need now are performance comparisons for CPU use too :D
4:42 I love how you just rock that dudes world as part of the benchmark. My favorite thing to do in Origins is just running into people with my Unicorn!
Ma man still helping in 2022. Thanks so much! I have 1650s and I did the things at first you said in the end of video :D
Thank you for the game Optimization series. I can confirm that AC Origins has the same TAA behaviour, where you gain performance using Low and Medium settings and High setting is slightly more taxing than Off. Keep up the good work.
This is awesome stuff. In many ways it is easier to upgrade your hardware than to optimize your settings to make the most out of your current hardware so videos like this are invaluable to gamers. I hope this becomes a regular series for major games. Love the thorough nature of everything you guys do.
quite the opposite
It's absurd. They bundled the game with AMD card for promotion and yet it run like shit on those cards. Ubisoft's AC team really need some restructuring, especially after Far Cry 5.
even though AnvilNext is a pretty flexible engine but with a number of issues it has just doesn't worth it. I just wish Ubisoft try using their other in-house engine like Dunia or Snowdrop on AC games.
Right? Games using those engines run significantly better. Snowdrop especially.
never heard of Snowdrop... I supposed that is used for steep? considering the name.
nah, Steep using AnvilNext just like AC. Snowdrop is using on The Division(hence the name), Mario+Rabbids and South Park The Fractured but hole
so once again we have to manage ourselves with onscreen optimizations to make the game run more pleasable because the stupid geys in Ubisoft can make it right! This is why I stop pre-order anything . And I have a Ryzen 2600 overclocked, 16 GB of RAM, 2 samsung SSD and a GTX1080. Conclusion: i'm obsolete to run this game at +60 fps unless I make visual compromisses...
So happy to find this channel, always come here for my optimization. Thank you for looking after us:)
Very well done Tim excellent video. Please do more of these and for a future note it would problem be wise to put the custom settings for high end/mid range at the bottom of the description so people can write it down and use it when they get into the game to set the game up correctly.
Thankyou so much for the breakdown. I imagine this would've taken some time to put together. This has saved me a ton of time and now I can just jump straight into the game as it just unlocked in Australia!
have to comment again, this is for me the absolut best fps guide ever! pls do this with every new game!
Will do, thanks mate.
Thanks Tim, will be playing this after the embargo lifts tonight at 11pm (UK). These type of vids are so useful!
Thank you so much for taking your time to make this I sincerely appreciate it and will be applying my settings accordingly
This is JUST what I needed. Well worth it and not only relevant for medium tier GPU solutions. With a 1080ti I loved the volumetric improvements ! Thanks for all your hard work .
Please tell me more about your really and settings.
I thought about using Res Mod 80/90%.
His tweaks aren't enough... Too ultra. Need more frames.
What results are you getting? What's your system?
Also have a1080Ti but dated i5-3570k CPU
This engine isn't aging, it was badly done from the start.
It's based on Cryengine 1.X
Believe you're thinking of Dunia, not Anvil. Dunia is the modded Cryengine originally made for Far Cry 2.
Kory Morash - Yes I was, I stand corrected.
And Cryengine is garbage. Only good in lightning but horror in memory optimization
No it's not, not the best, far from it, but in the realm of free game engines it's still the best
This is awesome! Keep up the good work guys! It would be great to see in depth analysis on each setting like this from you guys on big titles when they release. Thank you.
Thanks the information was on point! Running smoothly!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks Tim, excellent video! I would've passed on this game assuming it was just poorly optimized and would play like crap on my mid-range rig. Ubisoft probably owes you some money!
Nice! Will definitely try them!
question: does the variable settings have a bug?! I played 1 hour so far and it crashed 5x!
I find Odyssey far worst than Origin, it was sometimes dropping but never to that extent!
that is a shame because it is a great addition to the series
Very helpful Tim , thank you for all your hard work. Having all those ubiquitous filter settings for PC gaming is why we love PC gaming, however year on year they become more demanding for average setups. Not everyone can afford the top end GPU, CPU, memory and of course the monitor so a big thank you !! for this settings tutorial at least now we have some sort of starting point to help us all achieve good visuals even on a mid hardware system. Of course the sheer nature of the game and stunning vistas demands a good system but at least with some adjustment to settings then a good result can be achieved. Many thanks.
Very thorough and clear breakdown.
really liked the format of this video, subbed because of it. high quality (y)
Performance was increased by 20%
Me: Do you know what is the 20% of 1
Exactly.
haven't played this, but settings like clutter, foliage and shadows often put heavier load on your cpu due to the numerous draw calls. So you might want to look at that if your CPU is on the weaker side, which is clearly not an issue here, hence why they showed no impact on performance.
Damn you put a lot of work in these vids, much much appreciated man!
I subbed because of how fantastic these settings videos are, please keep adding more for multiple games, I have a 1080ti and you have literally gained me about 20fps in two games with no noticeable visual loss.
As someone who doesn’t have a lot of time to fiddle with settings to get games running at 4K/60 these videos have been a godsend.
But do you really get 60fps on these settings? Doesn't seem enough.
I have the same card but old 2012 i5 CPU and RAM. I need to find more tweaks.
Got ideas? What's your setup?
You aren't lying, but unintentionally misrepresenting enviromental details. This setting mostly influences CPU and not GPU performance. You are, probably, running an overclocked 8700k and do not see any kind of performance differences here. True, but only because your CPU is able to keep up on all presets. Unaware watchers, with weaker CPUs, will max out this setting and cripple their performance because of this. It was the same situation with AC:Origins. Environmental Details killed CPU performance there too, but people kept on using it. GPU power isn't everything.
Watch Dogs 2 had a similar setting btw. It was called "extra Details" (or so) and also crippled CPU performance. But it was marked as "for future, powerful CPUs" . So most people ignored it.
edit:
Same situation with clutter.
If you want to make another interesting and helpful video: Test the extra details setting in Watch Dog 2 and demonstrate how graphic settings can influence CPU load, while nearly not touching GPU load.
Then compare your results with enviromental details and glutter in ACOrigins and ACOdyssey.
Or don't. I'm not the YT, gaming performance police.
Cheers
Thank you for this. I always find it ridiculous how these optimization guides, GPU benchmarks etc are done with the highest end i7 processor with 32GBs of RAM and God knows what else. I realize the idea is to remove as much external bottlenecking and focus exclusively on the GPU, but that only matters if you're writing an unbiased scientific thesis on the subject or something. Fact is, the vast majority of people who watch these kinds of videos are tinkerers with limited budgets, looking to get the most out of their hardware. They're more likely to be sporting an i5/R5, 8GB RAM, RX580/GTX1060 and similar. The tests should reflect that.
@@goka2000 while true, this is the best way to objecivley ide tify what settings are most you intensive, for everyone
@@goka2000 well, I've got a 1060 and a 7700k, but I would also be interested in CPU benchmarks because I heard this game tends utilise the CPU up to 100 % which is ridiculous. I heard that the shitty drm systems ruin the performance of the game
So lower environment details?
@@skilarbabcock If you aren't on a high end CPU. Yes.
I'd highly recommend disabling the in game AA and cranking the resolution scale to 120% (also an in game option). Much higher visual fidelity than the AA implementation for about the same cost
Does it feel Jaggy at 1080p??
these detailed settings videos are great. i cant even imagine how much work is required but i hope they become a regular occurrence
This is one of the best optimization guides in the history of optimization guides, maybe ever.plz do more of these for crappy performing games.love ur work.
SLI 1080's and an i7 6700k. Spent a fortune on this PC 3 years ago, already starting to struggle on new releases, but I do insist on playing at 1440p also and I hate dropping below 60 FPS. I tried all the options here and the only one that improved framerates significantly was turning clouds to lowest. There was no change in playing with the other settings, I think I'm bottlenecked by my CPU. I don't overclock either so it's capped at 4.0Ghz. Feels badgetting between 30-50 FPS, even if I lower resolution to 1080p or lower other settings nothing really changes. I wonder why Battlefield 5 runs at a steady 100+ on ultra max everything for me, when you consider the multiplayer, destructible environments, etc. Come on Ubisoft, work harder on optimisation!
One of the worst companies in optimization
Wtf are you talking about? Which optimization?? THEY DONT EVEN OPTIMZE their games.. so..

Sebastian Malli thats exactly the point. Look at origins, what a nice game, destroyed by 3 denvuo/drm bullshit softwares.. newest cpus got to 90-100% usage.. fucking insane
Awesome video Tim! Thanks for the tips. One question : you only mentioned vram and ram regarding environment details. But what about cpu?
These optimization videos are incredible. Thank you so much and keep them coming for popular AAA games!!!
"No real performance loss here, just leave it on the highest setting"
He says while running the game on a 2080 ti
So what? Won't performance drop from 120 fps to 110 fps on RTX 3090, if you set higher details? What kind of logic is that?
The problem with this video is that the CPU-heavy settings appear to have no impact, but when you're not running a 5ghz 9900K it will.
All these optimization video's lack this detail and i've made the comment in each and every single one of them, he refuses to aknowledge it.

When my character is running without moving the camera - everything is smooth. Does someone have a similar issue?
Alex Zinkevych not sure if you fixed the issue but this is what I did to fix the issue. Go into your display options in AC Odyssey and change the refresh rate to your monitors native rate. The highest I can go is 75hz not sure if it’s because my monitor is 75hz or if the game only supports up to 75hz. I’d also uncap your FPS in game if you have it capped. If you want it capped then sync it with your refresh rate. For example my monitor is 75hz and I capped the FPS to 75fps in game.
GodGoku36 I have 144hz monitor with nvidia free sync. I have the same refresh rate set in the game settings with vsync enabled (I also tried without vsync). I think it’s just the game has poor optimization.
Your problem is with the CPU. Nothing you can do other than upgrade CPU unfortunately. This game is terribly optimized, I'm pretty sure AC Valhalla will run better with your PC then Odyssey
how much RAM do you have? that's a solution for the stuttering and not playing smooth, I recommend 12GB ram or 16GB ram
Very informative. Thanks a bunch!
Very in-depth video, thank you.
Sorry, but something's wrong with your benchmarks. How can the presets Very High and High only increase performance by 12% or 24% respectively, when reduction of cloud quality, which happens in the presets too, alone increases performance by 22% resp. 40%? That doesn't make sense.
Different scenes. He used a scene that's heavy on each individual setting, so it makes sense the delta for individuals is higher.
Alternatively, i fix Ubisoft's mess by not purchasing their games anymore. "It just works!".

yeah I lacked the "end graph" too either just average/1% lows or even better add a small playthrough of the demo with frametime graph and then slap all 3 on top of each other so you can see the frametimes compared to each other over the whole demo. thanks for a lovely video though, very thorough on all the settings, which this was done more often, would also like some "close up enlargements" to show WHERE the different settings make a difference, even on a 1440p some of them was very hard to notice any difference on the video until we were looking at the LOW setting
Thank you! I was able to gain 10 FPS on 3440x1440 with a Vega 56 by using low AA and turning depth of field from low to off. All the while I was able to turn up a lot of settings I thought were having a larger impact than they were such as shadows and clutter! Game looks and runs better!
Thank you, bro! Your video is very helpful!
This is probably one of the best game graphics videos on UA-cam. You guys will teach PC gamers, that gaming on absolute maximum settings is completely unnecessary and overrated. Overall experience is the most important thing. THANK YOU!

ohhhh, i feel sooo sorry for you
*first world problem
This game runs worse in first village with no people then Witcher 3 in Novigrad. That kind of CPU "optimization" should be banned by law.
@Rommie Samboski well most people actually like that kind of "optimization" it gives them excuse to buy i7 and Ryzen7 soon that wont be enough for these kind of games but what do you know we already have i9 and Ryzen 9 to solve that problem.Materalism is one hell of a drug.
I don't own any of these games you have shown so far, but it is very interesting to see the difference in what different settings do for taxing hardware in different games.
You did a good investigation job. Thumbs up.
