- December 19 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, delivered the twenty-sixth in a series of speeches titled “The Scheme,” exposing the machinations by right-wing donor interests to capture the Supreme Court and achieve through the Court what they cannot through the elected branches of government.
Whitehouse discusses the Judiciary Committee’s vote last month to authorize Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) to issue subpoenas to right-wing billionaire Harlan Crow and court fixer Leonard Leo, two of the central characters in the Supreme Court’s ethics mess. Committee Democrats authorized the subpoenas over a wall of partisan Republican threats and obstruction.

It is up to all Americans to help elect ppl like Senator Whitehouse in every state regardless of their party affiliation. We must clean up congress to be able to clean up everything else. Voting for the best person vs the party is where we start to clean things up.
The House and the Senate are representing the people. Their job is to exactly what Senator Whitehouse and the Democrats are doing by trying to get to the bottom of wrong doing in the Supreme Court. This is what "I" expect them to do. I am very unhappy with the supreme court when their apparent wrong doing within that judiciary and that the believe they are above the law.
The founding fathers made checks and balances in place for things like this to be corrected. They did not expect the people elected into representives to try to side skirt these checks and balances.
We apparently have elected the wrong type of Senators and Representatives to represent the people if they fail to police eachother. That is what we are seeing. That needs to be corrected and we need to replace those Senators and Representatives that will not do the job expected by the people.

Maybe you will find nothing with the subpoenas, but with what has been uncovered I doubt that will be the case. Still, those that argue against the subpoenas are not fulfilling their constitutional duty to perform oversight. I thought that you stated it pretty clearly that if there is nothing to find, no harm no foul and at least you did your job. Keep fighting for the truth, and hopefully, justice will follow.
