- March 21 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, delivers the thirtieth in a series of speeches titled “The Scheme,” exposing the machinations by right-wing donor interests to capture the Supreme Court and achieve through the Court what they cannot through the elected branches of government.
Whitehouse recaps what we know about the right-wing special interest Court capture operation and the ethics-free zone around the Supreme Court. Whitehouse also provides an update on his ongoing legislative and oversight efforts on courts issues.

They should be forced to follow the law like we do
That may sound like a good plan but in reality, a judge could get in there and do a lot of damage and feel beholden to whoever nominated them. They would in effect be owned.
The reason they give Supreme Court justices a lifetime appointment is so they don't have to worry about being beholden to anyone. But as we all can see, when there's no accountability to anyone or any agency, their absolute power corrupts absolutely.

@@user-hi4vo1cn7r I get what you're saying my friend, And I agree that that would be better but I think we can exist in the system we have for appointing supreme Court justices But there needs to be checks and balances amongst branches that are legitimate. Real accountability can't exist in near impossible impeachment proceedings.

Only if the Democratic party is voted into a super majority will anything great happen. We must vote the Republican Criminal Organization out of any more power than to conduct themselves to the toilet or it's business as usual. The GOP is receiving enough graft to choke a mule and won't ever cooperate to the degree that is necessary for the reform that is needed to have better governance.

I have lost all confidence in the American Justice System. I never thought I would ever witness the flagrant dismissal of the deadly actions of the highchair tyrant and traitor - trump. I am done! What was the minimum requirements of the DOJ? It's embarrassing and the lack of action by the DOJ places me and all other American citizens in imminent danger and that of the U.S. Constitution. I no longer trust our justice system!
@@robertlee8805 He's not too old. Just because he's got white hair doesn't mean he's too old. I don't know how old he is but, he could serve two terms easily. I'm guessing he's in his early 70's. We do need to get much younger blood in Congress and to serve as POTUS, VPOTUS & SCOTUS.

Thank you Senator Whitehouse. for bringing this situation to the forefront and educating the American Public. It is so obvious our Judicial system is partisan and corrupt. Especially Judge Cannon. I feel these judges should be elected into their seat by the American People to avoid this corruption.
How many people actually research the judges when setting out to vote? I read up on them - and it’s not that easy. I had a friend whose mother was a judge and I was better able to talk about who was running etc. I no longer have that gift (They have since passed on) and i get a headache researching these people. I can tell you that the majority of people will not put this work in. So that needs to change as well.
@@catpaladin1the people have proven that they are moved by lies and not the truth..look at tRumps rise to power..I think that a well-educated committee or panel of judges (say 10) could be appointed by a vote in the senate could stop some of the corruption that's happened in the past with a single president( as we've had, with no knowledge of the law or how it works) making those appointments ..also needed are term limits and rules...
