Dear Diamonds, You are an amazing trainer your voice is very easy to listen to, and everything you include is very informative . I cannot wait to start my path to make any of your beautiful creations! You deserve a Studio!!! ;)
This is absolutely beautiful! I tried to do this 2 times, but each time the mica would end up spreading and creating white spots underneath. I used alcohol after sanding the cup and then spray painted the cup for prep. Do you have any recommendations to make sure it doesn’t do that again?
Hello! I would Spray paint your cup a base coat close to the colors your using just in case it wants to separate like that. And also I don’t wipe with alcohol. It can repel epoxy.
This is beautiful but I work really hard to make sure everything is smooth when I am putting on the epoxy. Of course you cannot with this design. How does it smooth out perfectly without smoothing it? Obviously I am a greenhorn, learning, lol. Thank you
I just tried making this cup. It's pretty but not nearly as much as your cup. I forgot you'd put the glitter epoxy in long veins and I didn't do that. I like that look better than what I did. My next one should be better. Have you made this in other colors that you could share? I'd like to see it in blues/blues & greens.
Practice makes perfect. You’ll get it! Yes I have made this cup in many different colors. I’m unable to attach a picture on you tube. But you can contact me through Facebook or Instagram at diamonds and dust. And I can send you a picture
@@DiamondsandDust Thanks, I'll do that. So I mixed up more epoxy in purple and gold and messed with the cup a little more and I'm happier with it...so I'm getting closer.
Once I get my “perfect” pattern, I stop and let it turn and dry. By morning all has ran together. Still pretty, but not what I wanted. How do I stop this from happening?
Just mica powders or glitter, I didn’t mix both. This will give you a little bit different of a look that a Milky Way. But I’ll make video of my version of the Milky Way soon. ♥️
I’m so sorry I left that information out of my video. They are from simplysarahcustoms.com And the colors I used were, February, Midas pearl and golden sunset.
Absolutely gorgeous 💜💜 Love your color combo. So glad I found your tutorials 🥰
thank you so much.
Very nice cup! Great tutorial! Easy to listen to. Thanks!
I honestly think this is one of the prettiest tumblers I've seen and I have watched hundreds of tumbler tutorials!! :)
That is such an amazing compliment! Thank you so much!
Yes I still sell them, I’m working on restocking today, so they should be relisted shortly

Its beautiful thanks for the tutorial

Thank you for this tutorial. Can I use quick set on the first layer of epoxy?
Yes you can if you can work quick. 😃

Hey! Thanks for watching, The layer with the mica and glitter would be slightly wavy. But add another coat after cured and it will smooth right out.
This cup is beautiful. Was your mica regular or a fancier one, it looks so pretty? Very informative tutorial, thank you for sharing!
Thank you. It was just regular mica powder
So Beautiful 🥰🥰
Thank you!
Did you mix your glitter and mica together? Or paint and mica?
No, I just mixed mica and glitter
Into the epoxy
How much wet expoxy did u have on the cup when u started adding the first mica
I’m not exactly sure, I don’t measure, I just go by feel. Enough to coat the cup but not too much that your finger “floats” over the epoxy.
Hi did you use epoxy a and b to mix the colors sorry I am new to your channel
Yes. You have to mix a and b together before adding micas

Did you spray paint it white or hse acrylic white? I thought i saw a bottle of white acrylic in the picture. Just curious
I spray paint the cup white. Or a similar color to the colors I’m using
Loev it can you please tell me what colors if dont mind ,thank you
The glitter colors were Fantasia and frost yourself. From diamondsanddustshop.Etsy.com
After you are finished with the tutorial and is the cup completely done after drying time?
That is the whole tutorial. You can leave it as is after cured, or add a vinyl and coat again.
Could you use acrylic paint to color epoxy? Do you think it would work the same way?
You can use acrylic paint but won’t give off the same effect as mica powders.
Once I get my “perfect” pattern, I stop and let it turn and dry. By morning all has ran together. Still pretty, but not what I wanted. How do I stop this from happening?
You’ll want to use less epoxy on your cup
After finishing this, did you add a coat of plain epoxy?
Yes
Me gustan los vasos
Is the cup already cured or is the epoxy been freshly applied as well ? Could you do this technique on a cup that’s already cured ?
The epoxy is fresh. You could apply over a cured cup but you’d need another layer of wet epoxy.
Thank you so much . Ur cups are beautiful ☺️
How many do you make a week . Do you just make them when u have orders ?
I make a lot of ready to sells (most come from tutorials I teach) and custom orders when they come in.
Can I use acrylic paint instead of mica power?
Yes. It just wouldn’t give you any shimmer.
Does the mica cover the bottom as it spins
I add just a little bit to the bottom.
@@DiamondsandDust
Thank you
What do you do to the bottom of the cup? Leave blank?
I just swirl a little on the bottom
Also.
Do you mix mica in with glitter or just glitter... milky ways are my vice 😭
Just mica powders or glitter, I didn’t mix both. This will give you a little bit different of a look that a Milky Way. But I’ll make video of my version of the Milky Way soon. ♥️
What do you do with left over epoxy?
I only mix a small amount so there’s not much left over. But if I mix too much I pour it into molds and make keychains.
could you say which micas you used? thank you
I’m so sorry I left that information out of my video. They are from simplysarahcustoms.com
And the colors I used were, February, Midas pearl and golden sunset.
can I just use my heat gun instead of a torch?
A heat gun will work. I like a torch because it also pops bubbles without all the extra movement
How much epoxy is in the cup?!
I don’t usually measure. I go by feel. Just enough so your finger glides.
Love it ❤
Tfs
😍😍😍😍😍
Sure wish you had a picture of it cured
The picture on the cover photo, before you click the video, is of the tumbler cured.
Great tutorial! please turn up volume!
You need to check your phone it's plenty loud on mine
Why do you wear one glove? I always make a mess on my hand thay holds those tiny cups 😂😂
lol. Yes I only use the one glove on my right hand, I stir really slow so none spills over. 😀
Is there a certain consistency the mica mixes/glitter should be?
Nope. Just add as
Much as you’d like
