While I realize blending is what resin will always do, I still want to try again, just with a much thicker fast-set. Should I do glitters again, or micas, or both??
Thank you!!! I’ll probably put them up for sale in my FB group at some point soon, so if you’re interested, joining the group is easy. Here’s the link: m.facebook.com/groups/luxinda/
It is always really nice when something we do or make seems to ‘go south’ but then with a simple alteration it ‘heads north’ and turns out wonderful. The end result with the flowers truly made it look beautiful! An awesome turn around. I love it! ❤
Don’t beat yourself up over this tumbler. It turned out gorgeous. I gotta admit I was a little shocked over you using the word “beautimous. I’ve never heard anyone other than my dad use that word. I love it!
Both turned out beautifully!! I have one of those four chamber resin/paint silicone cups, never did use one when I did paint pouring. I do plan on using it with resin though! Have a great evening
It worked out beautifully. I'd say a thicker resin maybe a colored base and maybe just two or diagonal stripe pours down the cup? Hell if I know really.... it definitely blended and ended up with a dump cup glitter vibe which isn't a bad thing I like the bit of added ink. I'm surprised you did stop at the top and bottom I'm not sure I'd have resisted the urge to keep going 😅 the flowers pulled all of the colors together!
I think it turned out great! Like a sparkly flower garden. It would be neat to try a mixture of both glitters and micasof contrasting colors, to really see the swirl. 😊
I would do both! I love the cup, even after all the futzing! And I think a thicker resin would help with the blending. I really like the tray also. It's a shame to lose all those colors though. That purple and blue were 💥
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that - any good HR person should know never to fire anyone on a Friday, giving the poor ex-employee an entire weekend to wallow. That’s just cruel. But I’m glad my videos help a little bit. Big hugs to you!!!
I get what you where trying to to, I've done it with lighter molds But its still pretty, I do like it. When I do my first cup I'll have to load it because I know it's going to be aweful! Lol
I really like this one. I'd love to see maybe a feminine rustic style tumbler. Could do a soft pink glitter blend with some brown inks dropped throughout the cup and incorporate a graphic that says country girl.
I actually loved this even from the point you were not loving it. When you started adding inks i was like...NOOOO IT'S PERFECT!!! But what do i know, I'm colorblind 😂😅😂😅. The main reason I'm scared to go LIVE because I'm afraid people will bash my work when it doesn't work out. But from my eyeball standpoint, it was gorgeous.
I’ve been there with things going south a lot (just about everyone I touch), thank you for sharing your videos because you are teaching me how to turn that ugly cup into something fabulous without stripping it which is what I always do. The florals that you added just made the cup very pretty. So that goes to show that the ugly duckling is not always ugly.
I really like them both ❤. I have two cups on my shelf that I just don’t know what to do with it 😂 because it didn’t turned out how I wanted. The struggle is real 😩 Love the flowers 😊😍 stay blessed love 🥰 I wonder if mica’s would give a different look? 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you!!! Yes, it can be difficult to find the way out when a cup goes sideways. And I’m sure mica powder in the resin will change things at least somewhat. We’ll find out 😊😊
This color combo would make a beautiful st Pattys day peekaboo!! As for try again to keep them separate could you do a fast set with acrylic paint or another colorant along with glitter? I’ve never done a multiple pour anything so now I’m extremely curious.
The addition of the flowers completely turned it around. Absolutely beautiful! When you use printable vinyl do you find it hard to remove your image from the backing if you use florals with intricate leaves and such? Every time I try to print something with the least bit of an intricate design it rips when I try to remove it from the backing. Thanks for the turorial. Love the outcome! ❤❤
Thank you so much!! 😊😊 It definitely can be an issue with complex borders. Sometimes I'm willing to sacrifice a little of what's lost during the cut because the main graphic still looks good. Other times, I'll try my best to piece the smaller bits back on once I get the main graphic on the tumbler. But, yeah, it can be an ordeal...
Thank you! So glad to know it's not just me that has a struggle with it! I almost pulled my hair out the other day with some roses on printed vinyl. I wasn't sure if it was just the vinyl I was using or if this is always a problem. I was using htvront printable glossy vinyl. Do you use matte or glossy? Wondering if that might make any difference at all.
@@lynnenc I use glossy white printable vinyl from Neato, but I used to use a matte vinyl, some other brand, and had the same issue with cutting detailed edges…
I know it’s not what was in your mind starting, but I think it turned out Beautifully!! Thank you for the Welcome!! You have gave me so much inspiration!! By the way when you was fussing with it I was expecting a bird to fly through the video!! (I would have!!!!) 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well, blended or not, I love it and think it's really beautiful. :) I can never get my print and cut to work (the alignment is fine, but it either cuts too deep, or the vinyl sticks so hard to my mat it ruins the vinyl and I've even had it ruin the mat. :( ) Can you tell me your settings on your cricut for the cut portion of the print then cut.
Thank you!! Lately, I've been cutting my printable vinyl on the "premium vinyl" setting with the pressure changed from default to more. I was very surprised to find out that the setting for premium vinyl is quite a bit lower than printable vinyl -- for some reason I would have expected it to be the other way around.
Sorry again, but a follow up question. Assuming the 'print thencut' function was used here for the flowers...did you use printable vinyl for this. Sorry for all the questions.
@@nancyharris9621 yes, these flowers were printed on Neato brand white, glossy printable vinyl ( bit.ly/3lHM9hw ) then cut out by my Cricut using the “print then cut” function of Cricut’s Design Space software.
Should have put the tumblers in the tray with bottom of tumbler facing up and poured the glitter stuff on the bottom letting it go down the side that way. Maybe that might work. But with less resin
What about instead of doing the pour while the cup is on the turner, but have the cup stand upright and do the dirty pour that way with a thicker resin...just a wild thought
Thank you!! I would do a dirty pour upright, but for some reason, those videos and tumblers in general are very unpopular - I don’t get it, because I think paint/resin dirty pours are usually gorgeous, but I’ve read sooooo many comments from various folks who say they hate dirty pour tumblers, meaning the cup is upright over a canvas or tray mold 🤷♀️ So I may still do that, but I’m not sure when it will happen.
Yes, I printed the “metallic” flowers graphic on Neato brand printable vinyl with an inkjet printer, then used my Cricut cutting machine to cut them out as stickers. This is the printable vinyl I used: amzn.to/3RjWrFG
Definitely! I will probably use their speed-dry or Artistry Epoxy’s fast-set, both of which are *super* thick, plus fast-set will allow a lot less time for the different colors to over blend. Thank you!
Well... all the extra epoxy and glitter from the tumbler dripped off into the tray mold with the exception of the muffin top I sanded off the cup the following day. That took a lot of time to sand, but the actual amount of resin and glitter sanded off was minimal. 😊
I LOVE it Pretty Lady💐✨I have been wanting to try the pour /two in one method👍🏻👍🏻you think a thicker resin will work better? 🤔Welcome newbies to the world of Swirl🫶🏻✨Ms Cindy is the Bomb💥😍👍🏻👍🏻❣️
While I realize blending is what resin will always do, I still want to try again, just with a much thicker fast-set. Should I do glitters again, or micas, or both??
I'm thinking both. I've done something similar. Only in flat molds. Bookmarks mainly.
Maybe let the epoxy sit and thicken before pouring?
I would say both the mica will help thicken resin too, maybe less blending that way? But definitely use a thicker resin also.
@@kimberlywebb2257 definitely with the mica!
I'd do two micas and two glitters. Maybe a fine glitter and one chunky glitter.
I’ve had so many projects I’ve had to just push off to the side and come back to with a new mind set 🤣 love the flowers you added! Looks fabulous!! 💖💖
Thank you!!! Yes, the ability to “Pivot!” when working with resin is all too necessary sometimes 😅😅😅
