The wierd bit in the middle is jimmy psge playing electric guitar with a cello bow!! Theres a 29 minute live versionnof this from msg73 that will blow your mind!!
Its insane the experiments he did on sound to. A lot of it was used for the Beatles and then into early hip hop when layering sounds without copyright infringements was a thin line.
I ran away from home to follow the Led Zeppelin US Tour in 1977 (ha, I was 15).. I fought my way to the front of the open floor... the towering speakers were so powerful they blasted my mind and rippled my skin...I elbowed and squeezed my way to a position where I could clearly fixate on Jimmy Page working his guitar. I was fascinated to see mastery translate in real time to a once in a lifetime, mind blowing and eardrum damaging experience. In 1995, by dumb luck and by looking old enough to appreciate such - in the men's room a young L.A-nineties type guy wearing a flaming purple suit, jet black shag hair and ridiculous jewelry handed me 2nd row center stage tickets to the next act - "those 2 old hippies" - Jimmy Page/Robert Plant. This time Jimmy Page and I were both sober! I apologize for this but I do not recall a single vocal from that night... I was again fixated on Page's guitar work. My initial impression was that it must be pre-recorded; it was too clean, too fantastic to be real.... my eyes, ears and brain were completely focused on Jimmy Page's hands; studying for any flaw. My 2nd and 3rd impressions were the same - it must be pre-recorded - it is simply too damn good. It wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd song of the set that it hit me. THIS WAS LIVE. I do not have words to adequately describe my emotions of that night except to say I still get goosebumps and teary-eyed when I think of it all. ...anyway I recently lost my dad and this was therapeutic to write up now that my grounding is complete - I believe his exact words were "you won't ever leave this house while I'm alive..." Love you Dad..
Thank you for listening to the album version first. That is how you should hear Led Zeppelin songs first before watching any live versions. They made the album cuts perfect, then would play around or tinker with the songs while live. Thanks for the great reaction!
Jimmy Page on guitar ( the strange instrument you heard making the eerie sound was Jimmy playing his guitar with a Cello bow) Robert Plant Lead singer John Paul Jones Basses and keyboard John Bonham Drums All four band members top of their professions . Individually they are (if not #1 in there class) top 3 and 4 in rock. They are a deep rabbit hole to explore, Only band in history to have 6 of their first 6 albums in the top 200 at one time.. There one off (last concert) in 2007 at the U-2 in London, after they disband, 27 years earlier, shut down the ticket servers world wide with over 20 million request for 8,600 tickets that went on sale in the first week. Enjoy your journey
You fellows have just discovered the most talented and versatile band in history. Their catalog is immense and brilliant. Keep on down the rabbit hole to greatness.
It’s unreal how John bonham the drummer can transition from such a high tempo and then slow the song down in an instance and it still sound on amazing and work. The best drummer ever.
Masters of British Rock from an era that has never been reproduced‼️Keep diving down to this greatness. 4 masters of their instruments( Robert Plant on vocals ....his instrument... is a genius)
Led Zeppelin greatest Rock band of all time. A couple of tracks you might recognise "Kashmir" or "The Immigrant Song" And who knows maybe you'll even get to Pink Floyd.... If you do, I would suggest starting with "Money" as that's by far the "easiest" way into that rabbit hole😉
@@Amicy just put Led Zeppelin I in youtube….you’ll get it. This was fourth song on debut album….January 1969. One of most amazing rock debuts ever….and it impressed you guys…..imagine how it blew our minds over 50 years ago!
I find it amazing that you have 115,000 subscribers and haven't done Led Zeppelin yet! You're about to get a whole lot more if you keep this up! This is a master class in blues rock and these are rock and roll icons! They were heavily influenced by really early blues artists like Huddie Ledbetter! Great reaction from a new sub. If you haven't already you need to check out Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, The Allman Brothers and early Doobie Brothers for a good rock foundation. I'm sure others will recommend other great classic rock artists from a time when every band member we're musicians or vocalists and music was made by human beings.
There are great live versions from Royal Albert Hall 1970 and Madison Square Garden 1973. I way prefer the 1970 Royal Albert Hall version, in part because the singer Robert Plant sounded so much better in 1970 (in his prime) than in 1973 (permanent vocal chord damage).
Careful Gents!! You Can get Swept up in THE MIGHTY LED ZEPPELIN STORM!! 🎶 LED ZEPPELIN is, Lead Singer 🎤 , and Bad Ass Harmonica Player, Robert Plant!! Lead Guitarist,🎸 back up Singer, Jimmy Page!! On Bass, back up vocals, and Keyboard 🎹 , John Paul Jones!! And Last , but Certainly not Least, The Legendary John " BONZO" Bonham on The Drums 🥁 !! R I P BONZO! 😢
The gods of rock, so much talent woven into 4 guys. John Bonham the drummer is the G O A T Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarist of all time. The cello bow is used in many of the different guitar sounds you hear, No one had ever attempted that before and it became Page's signature. There are so many great songs by them, well all of their stuff is great, however this song is my most favorite by them. ENJOY!

Greatest ever. FACTS. Best performances are live at MSG. Jimmy Page is on guitar. They have no genre. Blues, funk, rock, Soul..... the transitions are insane.

Jimmy is 1 of very few guitarists who make it cry and sing
The singer and drummer were barely 20 years old when they did this!
Watch the live version from their movie... Song Remains the Same.
Jimmy Page...greatest guitarist on the planet...Greatest band in history! Jimmy plays guitar with a cello bow!

You have to check out the 1973 Garden Concert. Start with Since I’ve been loving you! It’s a guitar!

Checkout LED ZEPPELIN "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day Concert
That high-pitched sound that sounds like it's going down is Jimmy Page running a bow along the strings of his guitar
listen to Achilles Last Stand at the Knebworth festival. Absolutely amazing, Bonzo’s drums sound like machine guns, hard hitting brilliance.
Check out Ramble on, its theire best in my opinion

For rawness watch the live version in London 1969. Not as indulgent as the 1973 MSG version (which is also great...but different vibe)
