My sister said it took her 2 years after giving birth to feel completely like herself again. My friend said she felt like she's back! after a few months. I think it's different for everyone. Great things take time. Don't be too hard on yourself. Hugs.

2 years is much. With a trainer and diet plan she can easily lose all the extra fat gain in 3 months top.
edit. she doesn't even need a trainer just walk alot more and be in a calorie defecit

@@justchickenstrips feeling like yourself again isn't just about physical changes. And 3 months tops? I wouldn't make such generalised statement. It's different for everyone. People should be able to go at their own pace & be proud of their achievements, big or small, slow or fast.

Jen - you can't do everything at once, working on body regen/working on work/working on regaining focus/working on being a new mom etc etc., nothing has to be to the max effective. Well maybe you can with pure will, but it takes time. You're doing so well already. Sometimes its hard not to resist changes but we can't go back to our "old selves" anyways (and would never recommend tbh) and I'm not talking about our bodies here...we just keep growing and evolving. If the mind needs more rest, its fine to allow some time for it to do that. : ) And if we answer our emails a bit slower once in a while that is also very acceptable.
I wish you the best! Your always a great inspiration.
    - just a old (now casual) viewer who knows Jen from the time she wore Barrets everyday

Hey Jenn! This might be a long comment.
I love watching your postpartum updates! They make me feel nostalgic. I myself have an almost two year old son now and he was also combination fed. He stopped breastfeeding at 9 months and I also felt that the journey ended right when we had found our rhythm/routine. You’re not alone in that regard. I can also attest to the becoming a more relaxed type of person after becoming a mom. I’m also a Virgo so it was something I had to learn at first. For me at least, I did not want to let my perfectionism and such high expectations get in the way of me enjoying my son and being present with him. You must know by now that babies will almost force you to become more lenient because they’re so unpredictable and you constantly have to adjust to their needs since they’re so helpless. Personally, I embraced it and am still struggling to respond to texts and have lost the sense of urgency to get to all my responsibilities. Almost two years in I can tell you this: you will have your good days where you’re on top of it all and get so much done and feel like your usual self. You will also have many many days where you’ll just shrug and say ‘eh, fuck it.’ And that’s okay Jenn. I know as a Virgo you might not want to hear that, I still battle with myself about it, but we’re not perfect and it’s okay. Thank you for reading this if you did, Jenn. Or simply any new mom out there. You’re doing your best! That’s all our babies can ask for. :)

My baby and I are also coming to a similar place with our breastfeeding journey. I think it is the growth of that emotional bond we develop while nursing them-- the feeling of which you know you can provide and that he can be assured you are there to fulfill those needs--that makes us feel sad. It hits hard once you start noticing the signs, but it is also a happy way to close that chapter in the baby's life because now he is more independent and ready to explore the culinary world with you and Ben!

oh my goodness mama- you will get there, eventually! everything takes time! the end of nursing is another milestone, one that's always bittersweet, because you'll forever remember nursing your baby, although the crying when it doesn't work out sometimes will fade too. fitting into pants- I think that's always gonna be a struggle after having a baby. hips get wider, tummies get softer, and pants should just be more forgiving of our asses!

Hey Jenn I've never been through pregnancy myself but with people I've known that have, it's been a good reminder for them with the quote of "your body held a baby for 9 months and developed over 9 months, on average it would take the minimum of that time for your body to bounce back"!! You're such an inspiration managing self care, your family and baby and your business!

It’s always your transparency for me. We are on similar postpartum journeys and it’s comforting to know that I’m not alone. I’ve been dropping the ball with work too, losing focus a lot easier, texting for me is draining at times. It might take a little longer for us to feel like ourselves and fit into those pants again but that’s ok. We have to give ourselves grace because we are doing the best we can.

Hey Jenn! I’ve been watching you for some time now. Thank you for sharing your life and all the transitions. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling low about the transition with breast feeding! I’ve read and heard that once you are done breastfeeding, your body stops producing a certain hormone so much and many mothers start to feel more of a vibrant self come back. Motherhood is such a crazy, biological ride! If you ever need an assistant btw, I’m all yours :) best of luck!

Those veggie wraps looked so good! Going to make some of those, thanks for the inspiration. Give yourself some grace in getting back into the swing of things. I'd say it took a good 6m-1yr to feel completely back to being myself and on top of things again (you're likely still recovering from sleep deprivation and such). A lot of being a parent is just rolling with the punches and accepting that you can't control everything. I think you're doing a great job, you've got this! Oh, and for those last couple lbs, completely recommend Chloe Ting's workout challenges. They've helped me lose an inch off my waist in ~1 month without much change to my diet.

Thank you for sharing your experience Jenn. I have been watching your videos for many years and this is the first time I commented! I am almost 6 months postpartum and I have a lot of similar situations. I prioritize my baby and put everything else second including myself. I want to make sure that I did my best to baby. I am worried about a lot of things, and I am the only one that can do the best and provide the best. I am very anxious about my body. I am watching your videos during stretching after I exercise at night! I want to accomplish a lot of things but I don’t have the time. I am anxious. I am mentally exhausted. I don’t regret as I love my baby sooo much and everything is worth it. I just need to change and I hope I can be myself again. Your videos helped soothe my anxiety. Thank you!!🫶🏻

Jenn!!!!! Something that’s helped me a lot with emails specifically is always having an auto responder on that tells people I’ll reply within 48 hours of them reaching out. That has made it easier for me to reply to things on my time as opposed to being sucked into the grind of responding immediately.

jenn youre doing the best you can. Being a mom i heard is like another full time job. I think you are such a special person, and you may be going through some changes but we all still love and appreciate all you do. I really look up to you for being so real and vulnerable. Affirm to yourself how you are trying your best. I totally understand that "feeling behind" feeling, and how i usuallly cope with that is to have compassion for myself and understand that I am constantly learning and growing and. give yourself permission to go through changes gracefully with full acceptance. You have the power to make the changes you want to see, whether its dietary changes, body changes, mental, emotional (etc), but remeber, being hard on yourself isnt going to help... choose comopassion. Choose accprtance. What would you tell lennon or ben if they came to you with your questions and concerns? Think about it. Jenn, your a wonderful person, mother, daughter, and soul on this earth, and we accept you exactly where you are in your journey. you go girl!!!

I felt the same about ending my breastfeeding journey. Sad but also a bit relieved, and like in your case, it was the baby who decided, rather than me. About feeling like myself again... you know what? I am so glad I managed to slow down but also give attention to what matters only :) before I was much more scattered brain, while now I am so much more focused, cause I don't have time to waste. Big hug x

Awe jenn as parents we are always going to feel guilty and over think things that are intimate with our children.
As a mom of 2 and another on the way (my older two are 8 and 6) there were many times I felt guilty not having that connection not being able to breast feed my kids. but we have to remember we are their protectors, there shield they grow and they are learning from us.
As a mom who didn’t produce much milk sometimes I felt guilty not able to feel and have that connection so many women talked about, but I can assure you as they grow you will always have that intimate connection with your children no matter what. Just in different ways, just like our love languages. Words of affirmation are ones my children love, ticking, hugging, and making them feel happy. Appreciating them for them and what their little minds can do.

I started weaning at 6 months because my son also couldn’t focus for more than 3 minutes while BF and it just became such a struggle and stressful moment because I wasn’t sure if he was getting enough calories, I was timing his BF time, going through deep Reddit dives to see if other moms would go through this and i was whipping out the boob more and more often because I was so hyper fixated on whether or not he was full enough. My BF journey ended at 7 months and I definitely felt so much guilt during that month of weaning. But hes 10 months today and we’ve got our routine down, finishing his formula bottles and growing healthily ☺️

It is normal to feel that way since it is how you and Lennon developed bonding ofer breastfeeding. Have you ever considered talking to a lactation professional? It is definitely worth talking to someone to make sure if you are weaning to safely wean and if you want to continue, getting tips that he can continue to at least latch when he wants to for comfort. Babies who are not ebf can end their journey of latching a lot sooner especially after starting solids on top of flow preference they have already developed from bottlefeeding. Older babies get easily distracted. It can also be a phase with leaps and teething at that age. Not sure how old Lennon is now (assuming 8 months?) but congrats on making it this far breastfeeding!

me too! I'm 25 and just yesterday I tried on a pair of shorts which used to fit me 2 years ago and I'm THE SAME WEIGHT (2lbs more maybe?) and they look super tight and weird now. I'm trying to embrace it though, the (female) body is a wonderous thing.

It took me about a year postpartum after my first kid to feel myself both physically and mentally. Im on my second kid 7 months post partum and it the weight is coming off VERY slowly but I know I’ll get there. I know some girls that just snap back quick. I don’t know their journeys though. Are they starving themselves? Good genes? Under a lot of stress? You look great though. You have more curves now than before.
