I've finally figured out a good balance between staying productive, but maintaining my sanity and happiness! n_n I highly recommend everyone to read the book, Make Time, which inspired this new approach I've been doing. Also, my thumbnail was inspired by @saritawalsh. x
I Have been watching you for Years and you've always been organized & ahead of the game. your life is truly a statement of Discipline and Dedication and what results come from it. I love that for you. I always need all your videos the moment it drops, thank you for all that you teach us and also in such a loving way, you are beyond persuasive and i love that you use that energy to inspire Us. Thank you Jenn. 💕
Make small steps each day to make life easier, more productive and more enjoyable all at the same time. I find these days I am actually getting waaaaaay more better at multitasking (I know that is that grammatically incorrect, Grammarly, I said what I said!) but I’ve always been the type to get a lot done quickly but not perfectly, you know, not super well done all around, but now, because I started taking more control, embracing the power I have to change what needs to change and being more of an active participant in my outer life I’ve noticed a huge positive uptick surge in my baseline mood and baseline productivity (this is great news for someone who struggled previously with 15 years of high functioning clinical depression) and now I feel both satisfied and confident in what I’m doing and how it is done even if other people don’t see it or understand how it’s benefitting me. It matters that I understand me and I understand how my mood and mental health affects my work and accomplishments. And only I can really deeply appreciate the leaps and bounds of victories I’m making in my personal life, because I know the environment I come from, and I know what could’ve been if my eyes had not been opened to what was going wrong in my life in the past. So I’m thankful that the hard work is paying off! Mind over matter is so true. today I feel like a hopeful lil honey bee, ultra productive!
I’ve been playing with Asana and notion to manage my tasks as if I’m my own boss. I Asana is an enterprise grade product management solution that has a free tier! I can give my self deadlines, set goals, tag tasks, and set their priority. It also has google calendar integration. Before I would have various todo lists lying around in pieces of paper and online but then the tasks started to pile up and I needed a way to prioritize and organize the tasks so my energy can be set to get sh*t done! Notion is highly customizable but is not very secure. (Obsidian is a more secure note taking app but stored locally so you’re responsible for backups).
Jenn you are super sharp and intelligent. This is such wisdom you have at your age! I am listening and putting into practice what you are sharing and am in my 40s...Keep up the great vlogs!
1. Figure out high energy time 2. One place for all the tasks 3. Time blocking in a calendar 4. Have a highlight (urgency, satisfaction, etc.) 5. If you're done with stuff for the day, you're done - find ways to find balance
This vid was honestly so life-changing for me! Like that highlight of the day tip? Completely transformed how I do work, wow wow wow. I took notes the whole vid! Have you ever considered writing a book on organization/building a lifestyle, Jenn? I’d buy it in a MILLISECOND 🙌🏼
My go-to productivity rule is to take more than one nap. I suffer from fibromyalgia and so much more problems and resting is the key to then take on effective work. Loved your tips. You're looking beautiful 😍
Hi jenn.. im interested to know the updated version of being productive (as a mom ) because im finding it hard and quiet worry bout my mental health lately.. thanks so much for always inpiring 😍😍
Needed this. Current news worldwide has been so negative and taking a toll on my mental health so I decided to take a break from social media. After a week now, I’m scheduling myself to try check it during the day and not at night (usually when I get anxiety). Sharing this here cause thought it’d help some people. & Thank you Jenn ☺️☺️
Thanks Jenn! Love hearing how you handle your everyday workload. I'll definitely be considering some tips to help me with teaching, especially when we start again in the fall. :)
Perfect timing 😍😍😍 Your videos about productivity or motivation are so helpfull ❤️ I never feel under pressure watching them. You give us motivation and positivity 😍 Thank youuu
Hi Jenn! As always such an inspiring and informative vlog. I wonder if you could also share your night time routine? How you wind down and prepare for the next day ahead. Thank you for always inspiring as well as giving informative content that are also aestheticly pleasing to the eye and ears ❤ More power OG Jem here as my name also suggest HAHA
Hi Jenn, thanks so much for the tips. In fact, I got inspired by your bullet journalling that I've decided to start one for myself. Just a quick question, if you have a lot work tasks that are very fluid and is constantly changing, how do you plan for that in order to stay productive? Sometimes, I plan for things to complete in my work day and it is very reliant on other people to complete their part for me to complete mine. However, it gets changed (i.e. delay or brought forward) which actually creates a lot of stress for me. You have to delay what you have planned because things suddenly cropped up, your boss gives you a new assignment and the deadline is short so you have to slot them into your schedule. It sort of creates a snowball effect and the items in the to-do list starts to pile up. Do you have any advice on how to manage these to stay productive or less stress?
Man it must be really nice to not have a typical 9-5 with a boss and managers and people who would die if they knew that you had only 1 big thing to do per day. Who has this kind of luxury in their job, jeez! Don't even get me started on setting boundaries...ha! If only us normal people could be this idealistic..
This was articulated so clearly and was so helpful. You make self improvement and lifestyle changes look achievable and realistic! I really needed this productivity video this week so thank you Jenn!
@@imjennim I sleep most of the day. 😅 I been off of work now for a while as I have a twin pregnancy so I guess it a little harder to get out of bed with no work to do or no where to go. Lol. I wish I had more energy though, I need to get prepared for the babies. 😂
I am halfway through exam season right now, and this came at such a great time! Watching this video was a great reminder that, although I need to prioritise getting my paper written out, it is as equally important that I make time for exercising and rest! I feel super pumped now, thanks Jenn!
Hi Jenn, the thumbnail of the video seems to be inspired by a creator I follow on IG (@saritawalsh). I’m sure she’d appreciate it if you credited her accordingly!
This is so helpful! As a busy-body, I always have a never ending to-do list and constantly feel overwhelmed and exhausted with everything there is to do all the time. Definitely keeping these strategies in mind and will check out that book too. Thanks Jenn! ❤️
The whole video is very helpful, but the timer thing and the recharging after is quite funny. Most people have real jobs, and they can't set a timer for the time they WANT to spend with working. And recharge after. 😅 I just don't feel this realistic. But good advice if you are just home getting sponsors to give you free stuff. Gosh I am so mean... but I feel like real, important jobs will fade away because this is trending. In a couple of decades, when everyone is gonna be an influencer and youtuber, who will build houses, roads, throw the trash out, grow food?
In her 'My Pool" list, I noticed one of her bullet points was "follow up about book" : oh my goshhhhh does this mean is Jenn writing a book???? Because if so, TAKE MY MONEY GIRL.
JENN I LOVE YOU!!!!! your videos bring soooo much comfort and I just want to let you know I fully appreciate you, your vulnerability, your advice, your overall aura, and I wish you luck as you & ben grow together as parents & a couple ❤️
I love it how now we have moved to a more balanced approach to productivity - getting things done but not a a cost of your health or happiness. We should always prioritise health and think long-term to avoid burnout but at the same time life must go on and we just got to get stuff done! I am happy you also spread such good practices and it seems realistic :) also... multitasking is sooo overrated! focus is key!
loved all the tips, but that news one especially resonates!! especially now when we’re so eager for connection and updates on the virus, it’s so important for us to approach news readily and be able to prioritise what we should consume from it :D
I'm a very productive person, but my problem is that I'm AWFUL at prioritizing what truly is important, I get my job done, I clean my house, I keep on top of university work, but I leave no time for my own personal and professional growth, I just feel like I'm letting life pass me by 😭
Yes, after you complete some, you wake up with another ones! So great organization and prioritizing it's essential! I normally chose tasks based on my mood, the ones that are important enough but also suit my mood in that precise moment!
Thanks Jenn this was really helpful. Honestly the part where you mention about moving from one task to another how difficult it can be it Really hit me hard I thought I was the only one that struggle with this one but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. Overall I really appreciated all the tips, I'm not kidding you literally hit all the points I need to focus on. Thanks again Jenn your the best 😊🥰
I completely agree with your views on exposure to news and current events. People often say that only those who are privileged can afford to avoid the news. Although there’s some truth to that, I’d rather be called privileged than harm my mental health. If anything major is happening in the world, I’ll learn about it from friends and family - not from news reports that are often biased, toxic, overwhelming, and exaggerated.
This was super inspiring & brought me joy ! ❤ thank you for promoting for a balanced & peaceful life while still getting things done smoothly 😀P.S. you look *gorgeous* Jenn 💕
I'm allergic to the word productivity. I hate it with a passion. But these tips can be applied during periods where you need to get shit done or in a funk, so that's helpful~ I'm just very skeptical of it as a lifestyle and view of life.
Was really looking forward to this one and enjoyed it a lot 😊 one question that I still have is how you deal with emails. Do you also block yourself time for them? And if so - what do you do with urgent emails that come up in between meetings & timed blocks?
I soooo agree about the news, and I’m someone who loves learning about current events around the world and I want to work in international relations 🌏🌍🌎 It pisses me off when people yell at each other “educate yourself!” when there’s not enough time or brain power in the world to educate yourself on every issue. I just try to be compassionate and open minded and I’ll investigate something deeper if I can but for the sake of my mental health, I can’t spread myself too thin and I don’t expect anyone else to. There will always be something horrible happening and you will never be doing “enough” about it. I personally am extremely passionate about 5 topics and I try to be as up-to-date as possible about those and donate regularly but everything else comes second to me at least for now. (BTW my philanthropic focuses are liberating North Koreans, refugees particularly in/from the Middle East and Latin America, stateless people particularly in Asia, foster/adoption, the environment/sustainability and particularly animals effected by it)
if "pregnancy glow" were a person -- omg you are RADIANT!!!!! loved this vid -- kicked my butt right into gear! if you and your +1 have the energy to handle all of that, then so can i!
I am watching this video while currently reading The Productivity Mindset by Chris Bailey and what Jenn is saying is literally what I have been reading.
