I have worked with pallets since 2015, mostly making decor and using them in my furniture redesigns. In the past 3+ years, I have been working crazy hours at my day job and moved. That has kept me from doing my true passion, unfortunately. Just recently though, I have changed several things in my life. Mark, I have been watching your videos for a little over a year now and I would just like to thank you for being such an inspiration when it comes to trying wood working. I've often found myself binging your entire channel lately and recently began gathering materials to give wood working a go! Over the past week I have gotten 11 pallets, a miter saw, table saw, and a router which just got delivered this morning. I even got the pneumatic de-nailer and an air compressor after seeing it mentioned in so many of your videos! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to watch more of your videos while I am "just getting started" on my wood working adventure, Cheers!
Hello from Pennsylvania, I recently stumbled upon your UA-cam channel and now I can't stop watching it. Your videos are great, and not boring like most others. All I have is a circular saw, a couple small table saws and some wood chisels that belonged to my Grandfather. I have n9 budget but I do have some lovely Dumpsters to pick from. I make have made a few thousand by pulling perfectly good things and new things that I have absolutely no idea why someone would want to throw away. That makes me sad. One of the first things I found in the Dumpster at my parents mobile home park was a large old craftsman tool box. It was sitting near the top and it was super heavy and I dropped it like 12 feet to the blacktop. It didn't even scratch the toolbox that contained a lot of big deep well sockets. Anyway it contained a lot of tools that made me happy to have found it but it also made me feel extremely sad that someone had taken the time and effort to push the box into the Dumpster. Why nt give it away to a person who needed some tools or donate it? I thought people put so little value on something that a person could earn a living with and for the environment to put something so useful in a landfill. WHY!!! LOL but seriously I'm broke and really I'm trying to find something to occupy my mind and find a way to contribute and to live. Massive pallets, boy youre still in the pallet little leagues, all jokes aside, look around where you liklve for a farm machinery supplier, i get pallets from my local john deere, 2.4m>6m pallets average board width of 180mm, i got some the other day that are 300mm wide too, because they're single use pallets they're usually really clean and most of the time they are happy for people to take them. Also solar farms if you see any getting built, 90% of their pallets are sh!t but you get some beasts occasionally. About a month ago i scored a 3mx5m pallet with boards 150mmx50mmx5m. I used to get the standard pallets but theres just so much more blade destroying crud in them.
Labor & glue time is where you lose value. Interesting layers are costly with free/recycled woods. Should have an over head table saw where you are not pushing wacky shapes along a fence.
Hi Mark. I love all your stuff. I love your brick laying stuff. I dont get many opportunities to get decent hardwood off cuts esp dry lol. They are however quiet short. Do you think by doing alot of bricking and gluing they would come together ok to make longer bricks. Hope that makes sense lol
I often laminate my short offcuts togther together to make long boards and they quite effective. I show it off in a video about a 2.4m salon bench a way back. Cheers
This was such a great watch!
Thanks Master Yoda 🙏

Happy New Year Ned! Thanks for all you do
Massive pallets, boy youre still in the pallet little leagues, all jokes aside, look around where you liklve for a farm machinery supplier, i get pallets from my local john deere, 2.4m>6m pallets average board width of 180mm, i got some the other day that are 300mm wide too, because they're single use pallets they're usually really clean and most of the time they are happy for people to take them.
'cause ot winds up the yanks'
😂 As a Yank, I approve this message
Legend 🤣 thanks for playing
I am the source of your sadness. Lol. I build pallets, 1400 pallets is my record in an 8-hour shift.
far out haha
Labor & glue time is where you lose value. Interesting layers are costly with free/recycled woods. Should have an over head table saw where you are not pushing wacky shapes along a fence.
Its a capital N on its side , obviosly
Correct lol
Partial board or mdf is not a desk or cabinet making material unless you’re in China! JS
Haha! Well I think I proved that wrong on this one 🤣
I have a confession. I had to skip through the non bearded video. It was too weird! 😂
I completely understand, it freaks me out also lol
It is called a thickness planer and a surface planer 😉 Yanks 😂
Yanks know best though lol 😆
Cheers
The music ruined it for me
No worries, you may like my other new channel. Less/no music
