- Silverstone Auctions first sale of the year is on the 5th and 6th March at the RAF Museum in London and I got the chance to do a quick preview of the lots coming up for sale.
If you want to know more on any of the sale lots, want to register to bid, or see the video live on the day, then all the info is on their website; www.silverston...
Harry - Lamborghini Countach engine - I think you meant 455 not 255bhp 😀
Yup, I did mean 455bhp but I do these reviews on the hoof and the odd slip-up is inevitable. I could have edited it out but doing so would have delayed the video release by 1-2hrs. With time before the sale being so tight, I decided not to bother and take the flake instead!
@@harrysgarage I am waiting for the next installment from Iain on your Countach.
Any sneaky updates?
None, engine/gearbox all ready to come out but I've not got space in my diary to get up there to video it, hence everything on hold until a diary slot appears..
That's why HG is so real and personal as it's just real time like your there. Great vid cheers again.
@@harrysgarage e type Must have permission to touch it I take it? As the sign said do not touch
Would be good to have a quick follow up video after these with the sale prices and Harry's comment and if the auction produced any surprises or noteworthy sales.
Agree 100%
Torture him seeing the Europa go for short money.
I think he’s probably busy enough.
Agreed 100 %, just made the exact same comment.
Yes please
Harry patting the roof right next to the "Please do not touch" sign...classic hah!
I love all of the cars with 'DO NOT TOUCH' on the window getting casually tapped and touched by Harry 😅
Harry totally ignoring the " do not touch signs" had us in stiches. Lovely walk through, great cars and the planes are fantastic.
Most of the owners and Silverstone are his mates, anyway 😂
@@fhwolthuis True 😀
Harry is most certainly not ignoring the signs. It is simply that Mr. Metcalfe is so well respected in the automotive world that he is trusted without hesitation to present these cars to his viewers in a thoughtful and careful manner. The signs are meant for others. Not Harry.
@@kingofalldoughboys Are you saying that Harry does not sweat and only plebs leave fingermarks???
@@RAFchurchlawford4469 No, he is saying what should be quite obvious, which is that Harry actually had permission to touch these cars.
I look forward to Harry's test of the Lancaster on Sunday.
Wouldn’t that be a thing to see.
I’d have no quarrel with a series of episodes on these planes.
“Well, welcome to another episode of Harry’s Hanger…”
@@Olysk8er you missed the awkward ‘hello’ 😂
please do not touch!!!!
Harry: stroking the roof top...
Touched nearly everyone..
Once touched, considered sold.
Harry is obviously hinting that he bought the whole lot.
This is Harry at his best. The knowledge, context and enthusiasm he brings to these events is unequalled. If he tripled the length of these auction videos I'd be thrilled.
I agree, always too short.
Harry is ace!
He’s a obviously reading from the description but the added depth from his own knowledge is just a pleasure to listen too.
That's one venue where you'd go to see the cars and spend all your time looking at the aircraft. RAF museum now on my must-do list for my next London trip.
It's not often a bunch of E-types gets overshadowed , but a Hawker Hurricane and Tempest are gorgeous.
Love a Harry walk through of the cars for Silverstone Auctions - never disappoints! 👍
Wow, that blue color Porsche looks amazing. Love that color.
"I am sure your dear wife would love it" bwahahaha a Jay Leno joke delivered in steep English style. Almost made tea come out my nose. That was priceless.
😄👍
I'm sure we would all watch a video with Harry going over every car for 10 minutes!
Very professional video. Love the blue 911 Turbo and the black Countach. You walked past a 90s Aston Vantage and I was thinking wait, stop!
You’re not the only one thinking that, that Vantage is my absolute favorite of all(!) the cars featured in this video.
Even though I am stateside, I always enjoy these to see what is out there. Thanks Harry!!
A walking talking automobile encyclopedia. What a wealth of knowledge. Brilliant and ore inspiring collection
In a world of Chaos Harry just is a pleasure to watch as always. Thank you Sir
That blue 964 looks perfect
Zero intention of buying anything you feature in these auction tour videos largely because I couldn’t afford it, but this is by far and away my favourite type of content from you. Still rewatch the older ones sometimes
WW2 war birds and a classic car auction? Thank you SO much Harry
Can you imagine driving the Audi Quattro S1 on country lane B roads over the weekend, absolute dream
Sweet shop time again! Classic cars and iconic aircraft under one roof, what more do you want for heaven's sake! Worth a visit just to drool.👍😀.
“Please do not touch”........Your the exception Harry👍🇦🇺
Spectacular stuff - both planes and cars! Harry needs to do a follow-up and let us know how things panned out, and, many of his favourites he (nearly) got! lol
The e-type just keeps getting more beautiful as time passes.
Under wheeled and over-rated. A former colleague summed up the coupé as looking like "a dog squatting to take a sh17"
THE 964SKY BLUE... OH....OHHH... WOWWWW. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE BEAST!!! MY FAVORITE BUY AT HARRY'S SILVERSTONE AUCTION!!!! 😈😀😈😀😈😀😀😀😃😃😄😄
been in S for sugar in 1977 my dad donated some instruments to Hendon and got to crawl around inside, my god where they brave men, just imagine climbing over that central wing spar in a panic
Harry’s opinions are priceless. I love these Silverstone videos best of all.
Yeah true, he's been in the game a long long time, successfully too.
“Please do not touch”
Harry touches it
WoW! Thank's Harry what a beautiful line up. Well in my head I've spent over 2 Mill lol.
Fantastic walk through Harry, great to see the Bristol Type 192 Belvedere tandem helicopter
I could watch this for hours. Thank you Harry + Tom for this wonderful video!
Drove that Essex Esprit many times - belong to a great friend of mine who sadly passed away. RIP Paul
I love these videos of the auction floor. Could watch them for hours. The cars are all gorgeous!
Some beautiful cars there. That Alpina is simply gorgeous..😎
I don't know what it is, but I just love a LOTUS Esprit, I get excited every time I see one, such a timeless design! Just like the 348 shape Ferrari's, timeless!
Thank you, Harry. Wonderful. I used to fly from Wellesbourne airfield where Vulcan XM655 lives. Formidable looking, even today.
oh that Lotus Europa !! .. My dream car since I was about 14 years old. Fantastic !
The grey E-type and the blue New York Roller would suit me just fine. 😊👌
Only one minor problem 💸🤷🏼♂️
What a line up for the first sale of the season, thank you Harry for the walk round 👍🏻🏴
Always look forward to the Silverstone Auctions vids.... Harry, I love the way you ignore the " PLESE DO NOT TOUCH" sign. Keep them coming Harry!
Harry broadcasting from heaven 😊
Like a kid in a sweet-shop !
Love it !
I wanted the Lancia, until you mentioned the guide ! ! !
Harry is like a kid in a toy store. Love his enthusiasm. Awesome venue.
Just love his content its spot on, and how he kept getting distracted by the aircrafts lol 👍
Nothing like helping your audience relax and enjoy the content by telling them that you're going to have to rush through it.
That R32 homologated it for touring car racing in Japan and of course Australia... Where its absolute domination of Bathurst changed the rules forever.
Do cars come more legendary than that? It's hard to think of one, at least in this part of the upside down world 🙃
Up there with the XY-GTHO and the XU1 Toranas.
Thank you Mr Metcalfe, probably the only way I'll get to visit such auctions is through your videos haha!
The best entertainment on the net, I always look forward to a new installment of Harry’s Garage, it’s better than anything I’ve seen on the BBC in years. Harry’s natural enthusiasm for the cars and indeed the planes is contagious, keep up the good work Harry, so many expats here watching your content👍
Thank you Harry and thank you for commemorating David Leslie. I enjoyed watching David's stints in BTCC (NIssan and Honda) and he seemed to be the man for test driving in all kinds of racing, and manufacturer cars. Well done!
Thank you for these Harry. Love the knowledgeable walkthroughs. That blue Bentley is a bad boy
Oh that was great nice to see all those beautiful cars ,
Had to watch it twice, kept getting distracted by the aircraft. Nice.
The Brits know how to create a show, what a stunning display of cars with the aircraft in the background
Smashing selection 🙂
Superb location…….. Iconic aircraft, surrounded by iconic cars….
Love the Black Countach……. no picnic table and all the better for it…… understated if such a thing is possible in a 1980’s Lambo. In the early 80’s I delivered furniture and our flamboyant boss famously lived with Mum and Dad in an ex council house in Harold Hill, Romford (both H’s being silent 🙂)……… pavement parking a white Countach…..😳🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Latterly replaced with an electric blue? Countach QV, which I recall was the first export one off the line…….
Exciting times…… 🙂🌟🇬🇧
As another said, a follow up with prices achieved would be brilliant……. Cheers, Harry….
An unexpected treat - I liked before I even watched :)
Jensen CV8, Lotus Elise and DBS Volante, thank you very much. Didn't realize I liked British cars that much.
No matter how beutiful and well maintained these classics are, I just cannot take my eyes off those planes..
Viewing the auction lot online, the 1930 Chrysler Speedster 6 is the one that caught my eye. Harry should do a car review of pre WW2 cars once in a while.
Love the preview shows, thank you !
All M635csi were manuals.... great preview thanks 👍🏻
I was really looking forward to hearing at least a few words about that Vantage Volante. It’s been one of my absolute favorite cars since I first saw one so as soon as I saw the one in the clip it was as if the other cars stopped existing to me.
Apart from that, great video.
I had one of those original manual B9 Alpinas, bought at Syntner and blasted up and down to London from Preston every week for about 2 years and regularly drove to France and Spain. Loved every minute I spent in it.
Love these Silverstone videos. Gentleman's car tour.
'GP' on the Lancia is for Gauteng Province. The highveld area of South Africa, the car is quite unlikely to have any rust problems
This is one of the best video’s I’ve seen. My love of cars and vintage planes all in one. Thanks Harry
Thanks Harry stunning location 👍👍
The original E-type ,Elise and BMW M6 are wonderful thanks for showing us round pre sale and your right the museum looks brilliant and well worth a visit 👍
My jag xk8 gearbox went into limp mode. Little old lady passing waited with me for it to cool - so she could tell me her story of undertaking a porsche at 150 mph in her E type !
I would love to watch Harry talking about all these airplanes also :)
Thanks, really enjoyed that tour
Harry -a window into another world.Cheers
Another great preview video. If you ever wanted to do another spin off channel talking about historical vehicles (planes, tanks, etc), I'd watch the heck out of that.
Love that BMW M6 stunning, great video.
If that is your cup of tea the RAF museum is tremendous, and it is free. But I did have to pay for parking. Seeing these things indoors increased my respect and gratitude for those who have had to fly them for real.
Wow, what a venue for an auction!!
That Alpina certainly does it for me...
Corr, that was a whirlwind tour Harry, bet it was a busy day. Thanks for the time and effort, well worth it! As mentioned in another comment, a post -auction summary of achieved prices and any surprises would be a great addition to the series.
Great place to have the auction.. BMW Z8 with Messerschmitt Bf 109 behind, and an E type Jaguar with a Mk1 Spitfire & Hurricane.. Perfect placement 😊
You know we love it Harry 👌may the auction season begin!
But what is the Lanchaster guided at? One owner, and how many miles?
And that 964 turbo! Love it
What a mix of cars. Also, a cracking setting to display them in 👌🏼
Another great video.
Thank you! Love speedline on 964turbo what a machine!
Thanks Harry for doning this videos
Always look forward to them
Selling 2 of my cars and its always fun to look at what in geting next 😊
Give the people what they want Harry, just walk around the museum and talk/show the planes! 👍🤣
Great preview as usual. PLEASE HARRY DO A FOLLOW ON REVIEW OF RESULTS as someone has already commented - this would be great for those of us who follow the classic car market and help with choosing wisely on our next classic!
Yes CTRL+A! Want them all! That first series E-type jag 4.2 is epic. I love unrestored cars that are well preserved.
Those aircraft; a collection of heroes. I heard the AVRO Vulcan XH558 once in my life. Will never forget it howling in the skies. Both beautiful and terrifying at the same time.
That lotus esprit turbo is a winner. Epic.
the S3 continental is absolutely gorgeous imho
That Lancaster is "S" Sugar, flown by the RAAF. One should also notice the painted ribbons of the DSO and DFC's.
What a great collection of amazing cars and new custodians awaiting the purchase of their dream machine,, ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️from Northern Ireland greatly appreciated thank you for the video
What an amazing video. Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Hope to maybe see you at Goodwood this year.
Oooh another Harry auction tyre kicker video. Ace!!
These are amongst my favorite videos, thanks Harry😎
THANKS for another fine pre-auction tour! I LOVE to look...but I am drawn to well-loved, generally available versions of these marques!
Love your Silverstone Aucion vids, Harry!! My favourite... The Ferrari 348tb!👍🙂
YESSSSS THE GOAT OF CLASSICS!!! COMON HAZZA BABY.... SHOW ME THAT AUTO ART BRO!!! 😀😀😀😀
Had a 560 SEC...amazing motor.
That Balboni looks glorious in black
This was excellent Harry, my favourite video of yours for a while :)
