Omg yes... I enjoy this channel. I love watching reality tv because, yeah I find the drama entertaining...but I also know some folks really act this way in real life so the analysis is super interesting.
“Withdrawn, lazy and entitled”. This is how I viewed Kenneth. He was completely unfair to Brittany and I hope he sees that now. I know she’s not perfect but I feel that she actually tried

@@Covers-and-Commentary No-one is talking about him being lazy in terms of his job but he is lazy in the way he interacted with her, he put no real effort into the relationship and no real effort giving affection, neither verbally nor physically. He should have been honest with her about it from the beginning that he wasn't really that into her instead of stringing her along.
@@Covers-and-Commentary In terms of a relationship, I'd say he seemed lazy and too wedded to his phone. It almost seemed like a maturity thing as he is only in his mid-twenties. It was as soon as she said yes, he withdrew. It was so confusing. Bottom line was, he just wasn't that into her

The thing that really disturbed me about Kenneth is that he switched from 100% focused on his phone to 100% focused on chastising Brittany and then right back to 100% on the phone. Just seems so calculated

I want to point out AD also said you can be pro black and date whoever you want. People keep blaming her but she didn't sow any thoughts into his head. She just had an honest conversation that most black people will have with each other when dating interracially. These honest conversations are necessary for healthy interracial relationships.

Im not blaming her, i just don’t think that was any of her concern since it’s not her relationship. Thats for them to deal with in their relationship and if they bring it up to others. Overall, if he allowed that conversation to affect his feelings for brittany, thats on him. Also nothing prompted that subject to even come up, AD is just nosy af.
She needs to be worried about her own relationship.
If you watch that actual conversation carefully, he is the one who brought it up and then told Brittany that AD did.

Kenneth is full of it. Women are women we like attention, affection, treated well...He don't need BIG personality just a personality. He was dead inside. He gave up so easy, he was never serious about finding a wife period. Hes for the Instagram.
I agree 100% that ALL women would want attention, affection and to be treated well. I also feel like Kenneth might not have much experience with dating and relationships. I mean he's super young, successful so it makes sense if dating wasn't his focus. I think it would have benefited him if he did more dating to understand what he needs in a partner before coming on this show.
I was in a similar situation recently and empathized so much with Brittany because it's such a shtty feeling. This guy was 40 and we were perfect on paper but he was just not very affectionate, verbally especially, and I kept thinking I was being picky but it really got to me. I just kept thinking how has this not been an issue for him before, I thought all women like compliments, flirting, being pursued lol. I think it was the fact that we were both introverted like the video says, and neither of us were comfortable really taking the lead. There was no friction so I guess no spark or passion either. I think guys like this would do better with a woman who was a little more fiery and dominate but they are attracted to women who are more laid back and submissive. But then again there are probably also women out there who would be happy with a good guy who was quiet and reliable and not grabbing at her all the time - I'm just not that girl 😂

How cold and shut down Kenneth was in the breakup was brutal to watch. No matter what the edit was, that woman did not deserve that level of callousness.
I think Kenneth checked out halfway through the vacation.
I think there's a lot that the camera misses, especially when they're on vacation. Past seasons had made it clear when big events have happened off camera, but I noticed both this and last season I could feel a shift, but had no idea where it came from.

They really need to do better when doing background checks. If you check their social media and it's covered in them kissing dudes, maybe don't marry them off to a woman.

Another SPOT ON analysis! Kenneth's issue with Brittany was 100% race-related & was triggered by his conversation with AD.
I almost agreed with this but truth is he knew she was white before proposing... And he was nice on the first night... There is no reason to be so uncaring even if you decide you do not want to go through with the marriage.. He could have been a nicer person even if he was letting her down.. He was never affectionate nor considerate of her feelings... It was such a 180... If he didn't find her attractive he could have been honest about it and say his feelings changed.. This is a great analysis, but something else is going on with Kenneth. He did a 180 pretty quickly. Brittany is very pretty, exactly what he said he wanted and he knew she was white when he proposed to her. He was being rude and disrespectful to her. The way he ended it was so cold and uncaring. SE types aside, how he acted was sh*tty.

He was never into her. At the reveal he hardly looks at her. There was no chemistry and no emotional investment on his part. For a short time - to save face - he was acting like he thought he should act and then he checked out. there is NO feeling. Nothing. I think he is GAY too.

I was turned off by Kenneth halfway into the vacation but especially that blow up at the end, at his home. He is a narcissist. Brittany dodged a bullet. I cringed for her.
I think Ken dodged a bullet. Brittany had a stereotype in mind and needed Ken to perform for her 24/7. She never let herself get used to his real personality. He’s a worship leader at the church and a principal. He didn’t want to be filmed being all over her.
Everyone is a narcissist, just depends on what spectrum. A man shouldn’t have to be perfect to avoid being labeled a narcissist in a bad sense and dehumanized.
I also wait until the other person breaks up with me. I just never know what to say. "i lost interest in you" sounds terrible 😭😔 If I were Christian saying "God put us on separate paths" would be such a relief 😅
😂 lol. I don’t have difficulty breaking up with people, but I still have a ‘line’ that I use. I tell the person, “I don’t want to marry you.” Because if I can confidently answer that question, then the relationship has run its course.
To be clear, I used this method in my mid/late 20s when I was focused on dating for marriage. Happily married now.
Yeah I think this is spot on. I personally think that it was the AD comment - Kenneth is a people pleaser (I assume that’s the Fe?) and was scared to be rejected by ‘his people’. He ultimately rejected himself by sabotaging their relationship whilst trying to remain the ‘nice guy’ by gaslighting her into thinking it was her decision. I dated a guy like this who did something very similar. Pursued me for years only to ‘check out’ when we got into a relationship because his friends said they didn’t think me and him had anything in common. It was so scary. Like a light suddenly went out. He became very miserable, distant and lazy and made me out to be a burden; and when I finally broke down and told him I couldn’t do it anymore he said that he can see I’m not happy and he doesn’t think it’s fair on me to be with someone who isn’t making me happy!!
I think he’s even more afraid to be rejected because he may be gay. The race factor is a valid concern but I think that’s a convenient excuse

You have such incredible wisdom; one of the things I get super excited about whenever Love is Blind USA comes back on our screens is the parallel content you create! It's so insightful and I appreciate the framework and language it provides for me to better understand myself and the people around me. Kenneth and Brittany's storyline unsettled me so much but I couldn't articulate why certain behaviours (mainly Kenneth's tbh 😕) were upsetting me. Watching this video was eye-opening in that regard.

Kenneth doesn’t seem attracted to women, and this is coming from someone who prefers bisexual men. I don’t like how some are blaming AD and essentially scapegoating her as the reason their relationship ended. I don’t think Kenneth was ever attracted to Brittany, his words and “excitement” were an act to me, but he’ll use her race as a convenient excuse during the reunion. He was very emotional dismissive and dry especially toward the end

And what she was meaning by ''crave'', is that she wanted physical closeness (without sex) to where they were excited to eventually have sex. But they weren't having that because he was completely closed off after it was brought to his consciousness about race.
He had many hours to be close to her, with her all but (and even) asking for it. But he choses to initiate when he knows would be the most inconvenient time for her. Then he turns the discussion, gaslighting, in order to get out of it without looking like it was all his decision.
There are men in her religious conviction who desire marriage. She needs to reevaluate where she is looking for love, because it's not working for her. And there are many Black women who would love to marry a committed Christian Black man. If he really wanted that, he shouldn't have had to go on a show to find it fr

Dr. Cherie, I made a similar read on Kenneth in your community tab as soon as you announced this video would be released. Also, most importantly I agree that we culturally need stop calling or assuming people are gay because they don't feel or act how YOU would expect them to! I think the media shows a lot of "Clay" types, and we assume that's how a (black) man should act when he's showing interest. If he isn't overt, we think he must not be interested or straight. I didn't like how Kenneth talked down to Brittany. I also think Kenneth, as most on this show do, started to thinking about how he'd be portrayed and worried about not meeting Brittany's needs, which lead him to retreat.

For a Principal he is very immature for relationships. As for her, she should've checked out. As a person who's had her number of toxic relationships, it is not easy but she will learn.

I think it's the race thing - and when AD asked him the question, very gently and very politely, it almost gave him an out as he knew the questioning from his community was going to be much harder and judgemental, and possibly lead to marginalisation. I think reality hit him. And it isn't Ad's fault at all. Brittany was lovely, and hopefully she meets someone who loves her deeply
That's what the show has made it look like, because he went cold specifically after that convo with AD so by all the evidence that seems the main thing. I think he might have been concerned what his people would think when they saw the footage of him being all affectionate with a white woman. He was probably worried about how it would look. Maybe he was also worried about how it might come off the his people in church as well if he showed too much pda.

It is always so interesting to hear the show from this angle.
Girl everyone out there is guessing and this is the FIRST explanation that was clear, clinical and precise! You are outstanding and your character shows that you absolutely understand the story and the mechanics behind the story. I am so tired of VERY bad analysis (what I would deem a stab in the dark) of shows that really in one way or another are actually revealing the truth of an individual. People need to remember that the premise of the show is to make as much drama as possible, so if someone has to be the bad person, the producers have NO PROBLEM making everyday people look 50 shades of crazy. The problem I see is when untrained people put out a scenario that inaccurate about a person and how much that inaccurate image will effect that person and how they are seen for the rest of the show, at the wedding (if there is one), at the reunion, and beyond and there are WAY too many people out there that are not careful with what they say and the damage they cause with no understanding of what they did. I’m subscribing to you because you are the ONLY ONE that makes sense! BRAVO!

This one is my personal opinion. It is much more painful and humiliating for a woman to be rejected in such a rude way by a guy who looks like Shrek. Moreover, in a program with millions of viewers. After all, he is supposed to be a role model as a school principal for young people. I understand, after what he told Brittany and combined with his behavior in contact with others, that he lost his moral compass a long time ago and may never find it.
Maybe check yourself on your Shrek comment. In the black community he would not be viewed as that ugly and it’s clear you are influenced by European centric ideals of beauty.
How about it was painful and humiliating because he acted like a horrible human.
In the pods Kenneth was so present, intelligent, and respectful. But once home he often acts self centered and oblivious to Brittany. She needs to tell him - "it's not that coming home late is a problem, if you are coming home late occasionally, let me know like you did. It's the fact that you didn't show me any basic consideration when you got home - like keeping the lights off and getting in bed quietly, so you don't wake me. Do not do that again. That's rude."
it's also that he treats her like his phone and his relationship with everyone else is more important than she is. Rude the way he keeps pulling it out when she's there with him. I'm old school about phones - go on it when you're alone, or when you are away doing your work IF it requires it, if it's an emergency or very important (either one brief), or if you and the other person present are both calling someone (family or close friend) together. That's it.

I see bits of myself in various characters you’ve discussed, which has been enlightening but also a bit perplexing, given how my reactions can vary with the situation. When doing quizzes, as opposed to when I was doing them when younger, I find it hard to find clear answers. When analysing my past relationships I am confused at my own behaviour. Figuring out others seems easier. Do you plan on making a Video on how to determine one’s personality type, considering these nuances? And perhaps even share your own personality type? I am super curious what your type is, since you do have this knack of analysing people and you deliver it in a very clear way.

I understand, and agree, with all you've said AND for me, Kenneth needs some definite lessons in emotional connection and understanding how to build the deeper sides of a relationship. Brittany, for me, falls into codependence when going into a relationship, hence why she didn't speak up to Kenneths word salad he deftly employed so as to not take any emotional responsibility. There's also an element of hiding behind spirituality that both of them need to address as spirituality is to bring them together deeply, emotionally, and that was not happening at all.
I don't think people understand that Kenneth is a workaholic. He didn't withdraw from Brittany, he just went back to work. He's very "what you see is what you get" and didn't want to deal with the emotional instability of her questioning the relationship and in a way his character. To me, it just looks like he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and he needs someone who will fit into his dynamic

I've developed my own methods of typing people based on cognitive function theory, by analysing a person's natural speech, relational behaviours and decision making process. MBTI is a very simplified version of cognitive function theory, but I distance myself from it because I do not agree with a lot of their generalised stereotypes found in pop psychology. With reality tv, it is a best estimation because I'm reliant on the producer's edit.

SI dominant people are literally estimated to be half the population, so that makes sense.

Someone being on there phone like that irks me so bad. I do feel like his reaction to the reveal was fake and somewhat performative. It was simply him saying what he thinks the people would want to here. Similar to what he did to Britney. I dont think he is attracted to yt girls but he knew that already. His behavior towards the end shows his hot and cold demeanor. He seems to have some personality or mental disorder he was very cold to her.

A a student in school studying psychology and counseling, I am wondering what do you recommend studying if I want to educate myself more on personality types?
To be honest Kenneth outright verbalized that he found it attractive that Brittany was wanting to wait for marriage to be physical and I think he was turned off by her asking for physical touch and wearing revealing swimsuits. I think him being a faith leader was really important to him. Ofc if the same sex attraction theory is correct then perhaps he used that narrative as a layer of protection as he planned to say no at the alter regardless
The moment Ken and Brittany took a left was a foundational thing. When Ken asked where she asks what's her stance on waiting, her response was Luke warm and she answered how she thought she should. She said she came into it thinking she will wait, meaning it was not a set thing or a conviction.
He took the stance of being overly respectful and not tempting her or crossing the line. They both had desires for each other and they were Pigeon holed into their ideologies of what they should do and battles what they wanted to do. She wanted and was open to sex, (she literally said she wanted to be tempted) someone wanting to achieve something like abstinence does not want temptation of whatbthey are trying to hold off from. He would have been more aggressive if he was not trying to be the guy who tempted a white woman who was abstaining. They just needed to be honest and be clear on what intimacy and boundaries were

I think he has an avoidant Attachement style... it was hard to watch how he let her down and acted as if he was unaffected. He emotionally checked out. I think their problems have more to do with Attachement than with personality styles.
I thought about this, too, I wondered if he was withdrawing so he could have an easy out out of the relationship. I felt like he quickly built a case for "oh! Well we don't understand each other OH WELL let's mutually end it bye bye!" haha

After watching enough of these shows, once you meet you need that physical connection also, but people don't like to admit that so as not to appear shallow. I would have asked things in the Pods about affection and how you express it. Do you like things like making out, what type of sexuality is your style, and what turns you off and on? What is your desire or expectation from the man relating to you? The Pods were almost people talking themselves into liking the other.
You know maybe just this once it wasn't that deep maybe Kenneth just noticed that she kept saying "he IDENTIFIES AS A BLACK MAN, I IDENTIFY as a white woman" and got really turned off by that 😂😂😂

She is using “cognitive functions” created by Carl Jung. John Beebe created the “cognitive function stack”. Which is the system you see here. DrCherie has made some changes, which makes a lot more sense to me compared to others. Get ready for the advanced level stuff. MBTI is the watered down version.

I think he had second thoughts when AD asked him if she was ready to raise a black child/ son. Since he never dated a white woman before I think he had some hesitation about it and I don't think he could shake it. He pulled back and had an explanation that I think was a cover.
