I purchased my unit during the first covid lock down and its been one of my favourite bits of kit since then. Built like a tank, it is now used in every jam setup I make. I am seriously considering a second unit. Because you can never have enough knobs.
Thanks for this video - I just bought the MX12 and was struggling to program it based on the manual, but as this unit is programmed in the same way, it’s shown me exactly how to manage the process. Cheers!
I always wanted something like that, but the lack of visuals is what puts me off. At this price some type of LED guides on the knobs (APC style) should be included. Also i would add at least one LED/OLED strip above each of the 3 sections (like the old Novation SL) to display some information about the knobs. I would also want the knobs to be touch-sensitive so i can see in that LED strip what i am about to control. Combined with the LED-Ring i would always know what is going on as i move through my VST instances... It could display pan position, volumes, step sequences, ... loads of more options. I would happily pay 499 for such a device. I get that it's a niche product, but it doesn't have to be if the interface is more accessible. It then will make sense to many more people (and beginners). By the way, i think a modulation ribbon at the left side would be a nice touch (think Push/S-series). Okay, enough dreaming. I hope we will get a marvelous little unit like that one day.
hi, great video, thanks! Is the knobs has the center notch? For instance if I map to Balance parameter, it'd be nice to have the center notch to know the value is exact in the middle without looking at the screen. Some of the novation boxes has this but they only offer 8 ch. I need at least 10 for my setup and good to have future proof of extra 2.
Very good video, i would like to know if it s possible to assign inside a preset different midi channel for each knobs Also how many midi channel can manage the usb on this machine. Thank you :)

Hi! Very interesting video! Would love to see a similar one with Faderfox and Deluge! :) It's just too bad that the faderfox doesn't have 16 buttons (in order to also use it as sequencer) and endless encoders! It's a cool controller and the demo is good. But I'm afraid without any information on each knob and with configuration switching I'll certainly lose my head and don't remember which button is assigned to which machine/effect/soft or hardware... I bought so much controllers that end in the rubbish for this reason (or are used by spiders to trap insects in a corner of my studio). Yes, agreed. I also can't stand when I get firmware updates for gear I allready have, introducing new functions with knob combinations that you have to remember the hell out of.
I wonder why nobody seems to offer controllers with the displays over the knobs (or even knob sets) that you mention. Certainly LCD displays are dirt cheap these days. I keep waiting for this on controllers, but the only place you see them are on MIDI foot stomps for guitar...
Yes it is strange to create such zillion-button-controller and forgetting that without display it will be unusable. I can't imagine remembering all correspondences between the controller buttons and my synths buttons. Even my very old UC-33, an early midi controller, had some removable cheat sheet with the name of each buttons for some of best known synths . Very strange thought process.
how good would it be to have an little tablet or monitor above the midi controller dedicated to representing the VST instrument. and then a seperate main monitor for Ableton. like if the Arturia Mini Moog had the ability to CAST to another monitor device or somthing from within the ableton window.

The BCR2000 does 14 bit, NRPN, sysex... which the faderfox doesn't. Not sure how that is "not as nice" :-). And there's a very good 3rd party editor-application for the BCR, which I think is indispensable for these kinds of knobby controllers -- if only to be able to save setups to disk / swap setups easily for different applications. Marketing speak about how an app is not needed because "it's all so easy from the front panel" is totally missing the point. Doesn't mean I don't find this (the faderfox) a sexy piece of gear :-). Really?? I saw on the web you actually work for Faderfox, and this is comforting. I also see you have already one line which moves on 16 channels but just with faders: the Universal Controller UC44 . So it may no be such a dream..... So , for what you tell me seems a PC16 was already in program :o ?
32 encoders!! and 16 channels !! uuh wow!! if is going to be real means that lots of 16 channels multi timbral synth module ( with not enough knobs) users are going to be finally happy....It is going to be even more useful than the already too old Behringer BCR2000. That's great Mathias! thanks to say!! Really , thanks to say that in advance!!
ALMOST PERFECT Knowing there are 16 channels passing thru midi, knowing there are few synths which push the maximum of their channels to 16 channels/part, this time would have cost you anything to make a PC16. instead. Cost you anything put rotary dial encoders instead of knobs.......Pity!

PC16 please
yes! and with rotary encoders. Also it would be nice to make some shift possible to achieve one channel per time for all the knobs . Almost perfect !!
Really?? I saw on the web you actually work for Faderfox, and this is comforting. I also see you have already one line which moves on 16 channels but just with faders: the Universal Controller UC44 . So it may no be such a dream..... So , for what you tell me seems a PC16 was already in program :o ?
:D what about the rotary encoders?? ... is also this possible??
32 encoders!! and 16 channels !! uuh wow!! if is going to be real means that lots of 16 channels multi timbral synth module ( with not enough knobs) users are going to be finally happy....It is going to be even more useful than the already too old Behringer BCR2000. That's great Mathias! thanks to say!! Really , thanks to say that in advance!!
...though, even better on 16 channels, more and more rotary encoders!!
I mean that thing is great, but the price i too high.... hey, it is an knob midi controller and not an Synth or something what justifies the price
If it had 3 buttons per row it'd be just what I'm looking for
and 16 rows not 12
is there any other similar brands on the market?
I hated that song, that was one of the first songs i learned how to mix with and i had to listen to it for a month.
Very confusing ...not sure I would ever get my head around it.
lol, what dj's say about music production
ALMOST PERFECT
Knowing there are 16 channels passing thru midi, knowing there are few synths which push the maximum of their channels to 16 channels/part, this time would have cost you anything to make a PC16. instead. Cost you anything put rotary dial encoders instead of knobs.......Pity!
Fad A rfox? ;)
Anyone thought about using it as Step Sequencer? I see sixteen steps....?
This thing needs scribble strips in a big way! Just not viable IMHO
Snap Shots? Mmmm Sounds Familiar. Just Get A MK3 And Call It A Day. :)
the fact there is no display
ye but soo fucking exspensive
>72 knobs
>not encoders
LFMAO
Way to expensive compared to other products on the market.
so what alternatives are there with the amount of pots this has?
@@DJRickDawson someone mentioned "60knobs" by Bastl Instruments. one thing is appealing is it is practically half 300+ cheaper.
