In the first example of modulated ratchets (from the demo track) are the sounds repeating via retrig or looping sample?

The tip at 13.05 about the Wavetables has featured in so many of my jams, and I'd never have though of it without your vids Loopop.
Thank you so much for educating us, and for providing such clear and well presented tutorials.
I would love to see another advanced Digitakt tutorial :)

Pro tip for dialing in the single cycle pwm: when initially setting up the sound load the same wave into a second track and set the pitch an octave up. Set the amp envelope to infinite decay and get a note droning. Now dial in your original track start and length parameters until you get a centered selection tuned to the same pitch as the drone. You now can continue your sound design with a pwm wave that has accurate pitch to the original wave. 🏄 Save the finished product as a sound easily load it up.

This couldn't come at a better time. Have been slowly researching the DT and am getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger.Even though it has some limitations, I think that can be a positive:forcing you to experiment more. Thx for your wonderful tutorials.

    Ideas for Polyphony:
For a song you only need 4 Accords, sometimes 6, but not more than 8.
So you can do it like you showed it, with 4 Tracks and create 8 accords with the step sequenzer.
Than you can let play the sequenzer and resample it with all 8 Accords than you have all 8 Accords as a sample and you can use it with one track.
you only have to change the start and endpoint of the sample for each step in the sequenzer.

I would love to see a new video like this showing techniques you get from experimenting with the new firmware update. I’m sure the new base width filter, parametric EQ, and new LFO is gonna open up a whole new range of possibilities. The digitakt is such an innovative instrument. I recently watched a vid where someone was able to timestretch and pitch shift and even use slicing using the lfo and retrig

    Greatest video on digitakt ever!
one thing: “dynamic ratchets” aren’t ratchets, they’re a forward-looped sample with modulated sample length. If you turn retrigger on it, it actually won’t work.

This is BIG. Also if I can add - You can re-trigger each placed note when lfo is on sample slot as the instance of what You mentioned back in wavetable synthesis - that would free some buttons to rec to. Also it generates beautiful sounds when having fun with lfo multiplier, lfo speed, dep, track tempo, note lentht etc...
i love the video. it opens my eyes on that midi self-routing. Thanks! wishing U best! and everyone -keep diggin' on Digitakt.

Loved this! So many great ideas! I’ve been messing around with a way to get the Octatrack’s “one button remix” trick working on the Digitakt. I have done it, but it’s a pain to set up tbh. Briefly: Set up two tracks with the same sample (eg a 1 bar loop) on each. Set track 1’s trigs to FIL, track 2’s to ___FIL, use LFO on each track to cycle through the sample start (you’ll need to turn LFO retrig off for every trig except the first one so basically you are faking a sliced sample. Change track 2’s length to 15 trigs (for example) and every time you hit FILL you’ll have a juggled sample. The only time it doesn’t work is if you hit FILL just as the play point hits the trig that retriggers the LFO, then it’s stutter city ;-)
Anyway - awesome video. I’m off to play with some granular samples and dynamic ratchets. Thanks again!

One of the most valuable and useful videos about Digitakt. Holy guacamole. Tons of respect for educating us.

I love your videos and reviews - so succinct. What I am going to pose on Elektronauts is that Elekton truly "open the box" and allow for "normalized internal patching" of LFO's to multiple parameters w/+/- sends. If the machine can handle it with a MIDI cable, there's no logistical reason it can't be written into the OS... right? Let's put... "requestive pressure" on them to Make it so... ;)

Great advanced digitakt demo! I’ve been doing a similar thing to the waterdrop synthesis recently. Take a single cycle waveform and max the filter res and add a filter eg. This sort of acts like an exciter for the filter and changing the filter cutoff can get anything from water drops to bongo hits.

    • @KentuckyMusic

Also changing the scw adds a different type of ‘ping’ for the filter for different tones.

great trick with LFO is modulate PAN with 1k or 2k LFO .. with just subtle amount (not more than 10-15%) you don't get too much "ringmod-like" character of sound but you get nice stereo spread - like simole chorus (which is lacking on digitakt a lot ;)

Hmm... You could modulate the Decays ping pong function on and off and the steps it plays at to make it sounds like you've got multiple delays processing the sound. You'd have to step lightly and program every thing precisely and you wouldn't be able to overlap the delays but for shorter feedback delays that could be cool to have different steps delay in different ways across different tracks.
