Acceleration & Top Speed of the Suzuki V-Strom DL 650. Stock motorcycle. See how it gains speed and how quickly it reaches its top speed. Not a sportsbike and you can clearly see that it struggles a bit over 140 km/h. Not that bad for a 650 cc engine though. Very pleasant motorcycle to ride, super-comfortable. Torque and power drop past 8500rpm on this bike, you could go faster in 6th gear. It's not 4 inline sportbike where you get max near the redline.

@@VToldsMotoShow Although vstrom is a verry confortable bike,it doesnt compare with a confort of a maxiscooter.
@@akybosule scooters are ok in terms of legs room but horrible for the lower back. smaller wheels, shorter suspension and position of your legs don't help to ride it with comfort
Great bike. I ve the DL 650 from 2007. Acceleration and torque are quite good for a 650. Mine tops out at 120 mph or 192 kph according to the speedo...... It's not even close to the redline. .... I'm wondering if we could squeeze out another few mph....?
Probably not really, unless you change the sprocket. Maybe that could work.

It is very, very fuel efficient. I've seen guys reaching 60 mpg (3,9l/100 km) which is insane. Normally it should be around 40 mpg (5,8 l/100 km) in the city to 52 (4,5l/100 km) on the highway. I believe there isn't a big difference between DL and SV in terms of fuel consumption. Only on SV you ride faster by definition so it may be the cause for slightly higher consumption.
MfalmeVTold My SV650 has done over 63+ mpg, going off the stock fast speedo. That is good milage for a heavy bike like the DL650 are, they have great ergo's, compared to my SV, I like DL650's in just about every way, but they are a little tall for me, but that can be fixed too..Taller boots...lol... ***** Haha, not only taller boots may help but also the so-called dog bones that lower the suspension and a lower seat as well. Plenty of people have used one or both of these solutions. Good luck!
V-Told I bought a K6 dl650 with low miles, it runs & moves faster then I thought it would, it's a little top heavy especial when compared to my SV, but it did have a full tank of gas too. The guy I bought it from said he was getting around the same as your bike on fuel. Thanks again for the info, it helped me make my mind up. yl

Most DL650 speedos are approximately 8% fast. so 180 kph is 101 mph.BTW 8% is a rough estimate for the DL650 speedo error. My thinking is that Suzki use the same speedo as the SV on the DL and the front tire is larger on the DL.

Flat out on my wee going east through Nebraska on the freeway. I saw 116 mph my GPS said 106 mph
George Lee Mr. Lee's math is incorrect. 8% of 180 is 14.4 ; so an 8% error on a 180 kph reading means that the actual speed is 165.6

Yep, no problems. It's a common knowledge that V-Stroms do not have the best brakes out there. They're ok but far form being BMW-like good.
Does any body knows if the sound between 1:45 and 1:50 is normal?
Treat it as a camera rattle - it's not that there's any specific noise coming at these points.
My Vstrom 650 (2008) buzzes like crazy over 5000 rps and this does not. Does anyone know what is wrong with my bike?
I guess it may be just because you don't see certain things on a video.
So what are those things?
After owning the bike one year, I finally figured out what caused the vibration! It was the side luggage rack and the rear luggage rack. After removing the racks the bike is completely smooth.

Rear givi rack square section... I added some padding underneath it than screwed back down

Yes, this is a DL 650. The thing is that the speedo shows higher speed than actual so these results are not accurate and would differ from those from a GPS device. The difference should be around 5-10% so quite significant. Typical for V-Stroms.

is it a good bike for beginner ? i,am 6,4 ft tall and just pass driver license a month ago. What do you think guyz ?
If it has ABS, then it could be fine. There are easier to ride motorcycles though. And they also now have traction control which I believe DL650 doesn't in the model presented. That's a huge safety thing for us all.
The 650 V-Strom is a perfect beginner bike, for people with a size of 170cm+ 👍
