Young Johny could beat young Sonya and Kano in MK 9 but old Kano was too experienced and knew his tactics of balls-busting. Johny had like 5% healthbar in this scene, messed up like that because of being actually dangerous. We have to cut him some slack, he really can do better in a fair fight.
Its one of those gaming moments where you have 2 enemies and one of them is full health and the other is about to die so you try to kill the near death one Asap so you have 1 less worry.
