Great video and very informative. The colour of the toilet is even better!
Graham Hobbins Glad you found it useful Graham. Ha ha - definitely a retro toilet colour! :)
Fixed my own non flushing syphon in 10 minutes for 2 quid and a fiver for a pair of plumbing pliers. If I'd have got a plumber in I probably would have been looking at 50 quid minimum. Now my bog can flush away a pound of Dundee Cake without breaking sweat.
Peace of mind I’m sure, especially if you have elderly relatives on board.
Good video shame it turned into an ad for the syphin and amazon halfway through
My entire thing lifts up when I flush the handle o.O
Has the linkage broken between the handle and the siphon?
@@How2EveryStep no, the siphon thing Lifts up with the handle
It sounds like the syphon has come disconnected from the cistern base - if that's the case it's probably worth a syphon swap as something has sheared. Good luck!
@@How2EveryStep thanks for the input
Very Good Instructions, Managed to to replace my Syphon Really quickly. Thanks
Jason Carthy Glad you found it useful. Best regards Col.
Thankyou for taking the time to explain.
Hi Gary. Glad you found it useful!
Good guy
Go for it m8 :)
When you’ve removed the siphon you can then remove the broken diaphragm and replace it. You can buy one for a pound or so if you know the make and model, or you can make your own with some sturdy polythene using the old one as a template. You don’t need to replace the whole siphon unless you want to, for example to upgrade to a dual flush.
Hi Julie. Very true. I always think if you are removing the syphon anyway you might as well replace the syphon so you get nice new rubber sealing washers too. If the diaphram is old and cracked chances are the sealing washers are the same age and perished as well.
Great video and very informative.
John Curtis Glad it was useful :)
Good work!
Harry Keane Many thanks. Hope you found it useful :)
Excellent video, really thorough walk-through. Thanks for taking the time to make it 😊
Glad you found it useful. Hope it goes ok...
@@How2EveryStep Yes it did thanks, only because I watched your video twice so I had all the tools and stuff ready before I started, thanks again 😊
Not quite sure why you had to remove the cistern. Couldn't you have replaced the siphon mechanism in situ?
Hi Linda. The siphon fixing nut sits under the cistern so you need to remove the cistern to be able the undo the siphon nut to replace. If you watch the video all the way through you will see what I mean. Thanks Col
@@How2EveryStep I really appreciate your reply. Cheers.
