‘Dream’ dealership made purchase a nightmare

- An elderly Georgia couple tells Local 10 News they have been ripped off. They paid a South Florida car dealership $15,000 for a hard-to-find Lexus. And while the dealer cashed the check weeks ago, they have no car and no answers.
They just scammed a Hawaiian man with a G wagon for $275,000. How are they still open?
Shut that place down, now people know that car dealership is a SCAM !!!!

you might be dumb or live in the 1920s but people buy cards online everyday in the thousands and send the money to the dealer and get their car. Are you that boneheaded to not realize that another person did the same thing but got the car and he was also in Georgia !!!
Come to think about it, everytime you shop on amazon, you are paying for something from some random seller adn fro some reason most people get what they bought. STOP BEING A DUNCE, !
This is why I don’t overly talk down on those Indian scammers. they really would do better with the money than some people

That's called bait and switch. That is common in used car dealers as well as real estate.
And retail electronics. It's also illegal in Florida, as it is in many states.

817.44 Intentional false advertising prohibited.-
(1) WHAT CONSTITUTES INTENTIONAL FALSE ADVERTISING.-It is unlawful to offer for sale or to issue invitations for offers for the sale of any property, real or personal, tangible or intangible, or any services, professional or otherwise, by placing or causing to be placed before the general public, by any means whatever, an advertisement describing such property or services as part of a plan or scheme with the intent not to sell such property or services so advertised, or with the intent not to sell such property or services at the price at which it was represented in the advertisement to be available for purchase by any member of the general public.
(2) PRESUMPTION OF VIOLATION.-The failure to sell any article or a class of articles advertised, or the refusal to sell at the price at which it was advertised to be available for purchase, shall create a rebuttable presumption of an intent to violate this section.

Damn $15k for 87k miles. I paid $6700 3 years ago for the same car (black on black so more rare). These cars are skyrocketing in value.

Always use a credit card for a deposit to hold the car. Hand over the check after you see the car and decide it’s what you want.

This couple grew up in a time when honest American business owners were not trying to scam everyone breathing to procure a few bucks. Searching for a rare car nationwide does not allow one the luxury of going in person to check each one out. People commenting should be more concerned that this scammer will probably never see any form of punishment and that this is now status quo for living in America.
