- Welcome to Anime Theory, where I look into anime to find deeper meanings or theories or whatever. This time I'm looking into the Anime Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) to see if Yuno truly has any love for Yuki. I decided to start nicer, so this was an easier topic to discuss. Also, I'm oddly proud of this video, but I really can't figure out why.

Agreed. None of her actions in the show make sense if she didn't love him. She disregarded her own life numerous times to protect his and even offered to kill herself so that Yuki could live on.
Sure, she is a nutter but her feelings were genuine.
in the series she literally admits that she would've dramatically fall in love anyone who have her attention. it's in one of the final episodes.
While that is true, she didn't admit that she DOESN'T love him, she said that it didn't have to be him. She could've fallen in love with anyone, it just happened to be him.
As I mentioned above, this is false. She only said that to discourage Yuki from pursuing her when she trapped him in his perfect world. It's mentioned in the manga. None of her actions throughout the course of the show make sense if she didn't genuinely love him. She put her own life above his numerously times and protected him. Yuuki literally would have died in episode 1
Also during their fight her phone kept saying "I need to SAVE yuki" the diary tells how the person feels

Did you watch the video? It was basically saying that Yuno was obsessed with Yuki since he gave her something to look forward to in the future. Also, if she genuinely loved Yuki, why would she tie him up?

I had doubt in her statement. It was the timing and how she said it.
Cryssi Van Laarhoven there’s more proof to her own statement at the very end, when we see the lives of all the diary holders returned to normal in the 3rd world. Yuno never experiences the permanent trauma from killing her parents, so she never seeks out (yuki) a person to latch on to, and leads what is assumed to be a more normal life.

But the last part where yuno died, yuki kept on staring on his phone for many many years but yuno from the other dimension crossed dimensions even though in that dimension she dont know yuki yet she knew he was missing and she even joined yuki in his dimension as a god
That was from an OVA. Also, in that ova yuno from 3rd univ got the memories from 2nd univ yuno and remembered everything, so she went and meta amano from the second universe in his god form.

I think at the end it was true love, like at the very end of the OVA. Everything before that was a mix of Stockholm Syndrome, necessity, or trauma induced hysteria

They were couple in the 1st, she kind of betrayed him but she wanted to revive him but she couldn't, in the second he was the first person to be kind to her and she fall for him, why people keep saying that she said she will fall for anyone who did that for her? Most of us will we love who ever raises us... That's is how it works. It sounds normal to fall in love with the first person was nice to you, if you change a moment in your life you could change more things, for example if you go or not in the café with your friends, you can find a person and become a couple or not, and if not you can meet someone else and end up together, so what you don't love any of them? . Yuno create dimension 2 and 3 to be with Yuuki. She killed the second to replace her. She fell in love with the first Yuuki and cound´t comprehend the loss so she created the second to be with him. Am i right? I didn`t watch it for a long time.

The thing is people dont understand love kinda. While in love people wanna feel safe and that the other person will have the best interest of them. I am pretty sure that if i would make some female's come in to reality she would like to be with me. In the current day people think that they have to fulfill social norms. Be bulky, clean shaved or with a nice beard earn a lot of money. That is cool but most people dont give a fu** coz they cant use it but if we fulfil their desires they will be all over us.
Indeed this is more than just their definition of love. It shows how you should question the traditional definition you have and see that all love is replaceable, for otherwise we wouldn't have EXes not be dependent on random external factors.
They were heavily codependent for so long that I think by the end of the show, Yuno did love Yuki and vice versa.
Regardless, calling their relationship complicated would be an under statement.

I actually had a similar theory and I actually understand her a little bit. Though I still hate her for killing Akise. It was pretty obvious in the anime when it was almost the end, Yuno said she can find someone else in Yukiteru’s place to love and obsess and stalk... etc. It’s self explanatory on how she doesn’t need Yukiteru specifically but only a target to make her life meaningful

Everyone seems to thinks she acts that way because she loves him but not really she is just obsed with him. Remember when she was ready to kill yuki's mother just so no one would ba against them being together? Don't call that love... and she wasn't about to act that way because she is a yandere, it's not like the mother was a love interest of the protagonist.
Finally based on the OAV: yuno only remembered yuki for two reasons: 1) she had fragments of memory about the night when yuki abd yuno fought
2) little assistant girl was rzaching out to her so she could give her her pas seld memories.
Also let's not forget how she manopulated yuki so he'd kill his friends

+DuoReview It's a complicated subject that relates more to the definition of what love actually is. Most people that are jumping on the "SHE LOVES HIM SO MUCH!!!" bandwagon aren't looking at the fact that she's also a psychopath, and ACTUAL psychopaths act in their own self-interest, regardless of consequence to the people around them. It's an incredibly deep topic that's going to take a lot of dissecting and scientific/psychological research. I'm thinking about doing a paper on this for fun, now. ^_0

“right place, right time” is a way that people fall in love, and yeah maybe she was just infatuated with him. Moreover, the issue I take with this comes from the fact that Yuno flat-out tells Yukki in the last episode that she would have been obsessed with anyone if someone else had been in that classroom.
But considering that the Yuno that we see was a god that had already learned to love Yukki from an anime point of view she did love him from the beggining and part of all the stalkish part of her was waiting for Yukki to love her again this time.
guys, her diary shows her feelings in the comments on him right? so why where there so many comments about loving him in the final fight scene? (which she frantically denied so she could stay sane when she killed him) also before someone brings up when she said "I would have fallen for anyone who gave me a future, and you would have fallen in love with anyone who protected you." in the final fight scene, this was clearly to push him away, or to convince herself. i mean killing the love of your life doesn't exactly encourage a healthy psyche yo.

we only saw their relationship with 2nd yuki though. you have to take into account that yuno had a whole story with yuki before when this show takes place. so she loves all versions of him. the reason why she's so infatuated with him in the show is not bc he did anything spectacular, but because she already loved him before.
Do you really need a "reason" to love someone? What if that so "reason" were to disapear, would you still love that person? Idk, but Yuno's love to Yukiteru seems more real to me that many of the other loves based on reason.
Then that’s not love. Love needs reason, a lot of reasons. You need to spend a long ass time with someone to fall in love. You can’t just fall in love with someone for no reason at all. There are always reasons, but you can't always articulate them.
When Yuno decided to let Yuki go, she made for him a world where he could have everything he desired _except Yuno._ She wanted Yuki to have a good life without the blight that people had convinced her that she was. She tried desperately to convince Yuki and herself that what they had was nothing special, that what she offered him was nothing special so what he offered her in return didn't have to be special, either. Hers was basically your garden variety A Silent Voice trauma, except far _far_ worse.
She would have succeeded, except Yuki refused to condemn her as the worthless blight of a human being who deserved no affection and no consideration the world had convinced her that she was. Yuki refused to let her believe that she was impossible to love and incapable of love, despite all her flaws and mistakes. That cheeky little modderfogger refused to stop loving her and _insisted_ that, messy, disfigured, and broken as it might be, he still wouldn't trade her love for the world. It might or might not be pure luck that she fell for the one person who could see the worth of what she had left to give, after the world had taken from her almost everything, including most of herself.
What could she say to that except what she actually said at the end of the manga when 3rd world Yuno asked her, "You have a person you love as well, don't you?"
"That's right! I love Yuki!" she answered, "I love Yuki and I'll love Yuki...even if I die..."
He gave her a place in the world. She loved him for it and gave back all she had left to give. One person still wanted and needed her. You can call it whatever you want, I doubt the name matters to either of them.
In the first timeline before Yuno reset everything she and Yuki actually had a normal relationship. It was only once she realized she couldn't bring him back from the dead (after she won the game) that she went yandere.
from what i remember it was never shown that she wasnt a yandere in the first timeline. Murumuru stated that she sealed her memories of anything of the "future" so she probably behaved in the same manner
her diary from the first timeline was also the same stalker one as in the second timeline

It may have been some years since i watched/read it but i have no memories at all of them showing us anything from the first timeline except for a few scenes so is it even possible to be so sure whether she was yandere then or not?

They don't tell us anything about the characters personallitys in the first timeline but they do tell us that uki sacraficies himself with the beleif that Yuno could bring her back once she became god. this means Yuno let Yuki sacrafice himself which is distntly unlike what the yandere Yuno would do and that Yuki trusted Yuno the a great degree implying a proper relationship had taken place.
Yuki didn't love Yuno att all in the begining but they fell deeply in love around episode 20

One of the last two episodes when they are in the 3rd world and she traps him in his own orb world thingy, she tells him that she would have clung to anyone and he would have done the same, it was just circumstance that it ended up being those two

She was in love with him in a different world... Every time she won she made another world and paired with him she loved him so much she wanted him to win if that version didn't have the guts to kill her she would kill him through love and make another world

+DuoReview okay now that I'm calm I would like yuno would not put herself through reliving horror so many times for no reason so that leads me to Believe there is some connection. Most people after traumatized action has happened do tend to latch on to others. either others or the person who put them through that. Yes she did show minor signs latching onto her parents picking the fact that she always went back to the cage to tell them what was happening but that also means that she did go through some traumatizing action to make herself latch on well with him but this does not make sense I mean speaking of the fact that her parents weren't always abusive probably in every world if she didn't want it she could've just said I want to relive in the world my parents don't abuse me but she didn't say that and at the end the boy with Whitehair I'm sorry I forgot his name but he showed him that she was evil she even had another phone to prove it so this rules out that the other worlds are

"Read this" 3:07 in the future diary when they first met. Her parents where still alive. And that Yuno was the first Yuno not the future one that went back in time. To start playing the game again after knowing that she couldn't revive the dead. And by the end when Yuki became the new god when Yuno died Chose not use his powers after a couple Thousands of years later in a another time line. thanks to mur mur Yuno got her memories back and searched for god and asked him to take her to yuki so they could be together forever. Yuno doesn't love yuki yeah right!

Ai said she wanted to die and she wanted Marco to try and live a happy and fulfilling life without her and even then Marco was trying to get her out from the rubble, quite literally flew in the wishes of his 'loved one'...thats not love, he was selfish as s__t. What are you talking about? This isn't a theory, It's proven fact. Yuno says it herself in episode 25 when she puts Yukiteru in his dreamworld: "If it's just someone I can obsess over , it can be anyone." in the sub, or "I would have fallen for anyone that would let me cling to them." in the dub.

Obsession is exactly what it was. After Yuno killed her parents she lost any sense of purpose in the world, felt that there was no point to living anymore. It didn't have to be Yukiteru. Yuno was looking for someone or something to give her life meaning, a reason to move forward. So when they had to fill out that paper about their plans for the future, and saw Yukiteru also having trouble answering his, she saw a bit of herself in him and decided to run her hopes on him.
But so long as she could have seen a future for herself, it could have been anyone she latched onto. It could have been a nice store clerk that helped her patch up a scratched knee, it could have been a teacher that told her they saw potential in her to do something great. It literally could have been anyone doing anything, so long as she could have latched onto them and feel she had a future there, nothing else mattered.
Yukiteru just happened to be in the right (wrong?) place at the right (wrong?) time for it to be him that she latched on to. True it's not impossible for it to have grown into something more than obsession, but it's hard to say with how poorly handled this series was if that ever happened.

She did not want to be God, she just wanted to survive, same as Yuki. She, out of all people definitely has no reason to want to become God, especially after knowing that she cannot bring people back from the dead.

This was already confirmed in Episode 25. When Yuno decided to "break up" with Yuki so she could kill him, she describes how she was latching onto someone to love. Yuki acknowledges how they were co-dependant on each other as well, but they both also realized that despite this, during their time together, that they grew to really love each other. Really, go watch episode 25 again. Or was it 24? It's either 24, 25, or 26, but I'm pretty sure it's 25.
I think the theory is actually right. I read the manga, and it looked like Yuki was more like a protector for Yuno, while it was the other way around in the second timeline. Yuno never loved the second Yuki, who was kind of a coward. She loved the first one who protected her, and I think she knew that Yuki is gone forever. But still, she tried to protect the second one.
That is how I interpreted it.
Spoiler alert: Correct me if I am wrong because I haven't exactly watched this series recently, however, the show took course in the second survival game. This happened because Yuno wanted to go back so she could see Yuki again after learning you can't bring the dead back to life. In the first survival game it was shown that the only ones left we're Yuki and Yuno. They agreed to take a pill that would end their lives. But Yuno didn't follow through and didn't swallow it, thus becoming god. But for Yuki to make it that far, Yuno would've still had to be her yandere self and protect him. Now back to the second survival game, Yuno killed her family and her current self in that version of the world, so after killing her parents, I guess there could have still been a mental issue in the matter; but that doesn't change the fact that Yuno had loved Yuki, or for some reason had protected him in the first version, where her parents death, didn't have anything in place when she fell in love with him.

this is what i came to the comment section looking for. the theory hinges on Yuno having killed her parents. There is no reason to think she did that in the first survival game.
problem is we don't really know how the first survival game played out, it could have been completely different. All we really know is, as you pointed out, that Yuki and Yuno were the last two and they agreed to do the poisoning thing. I mean that's what the whole anime opens showing us... Yuno crying over Yuki's body with some poison nearby and she is begging him to wake up, short little scene before we know who any of the characters are.

Edit. I just rewatched the opening of episode one, just to clarify. So it opens on Yuno over Yuki, in Deus' realm "hey, haha, very funny, come on. you're scaring me" then she cries and we see the potassium cyanide capsules. Then it dissolves to Yuno's house, her parents have just been killed, Then Yuno gets killed. we don't see by who, but obviously after watching the show this is when the Yuno of the first world kills the Yuno of the second world. This is the opening of the entire show.
i would also like to add it was implied that 2nd yuki was far more useless then yuki 1 by murmur. so they probably had a whole different dynamic all the way around. point is she loved that yuki enough to kill herself(twice) just to spend time with next closest thing (yuki 2). there had to be love there. even yuno 3 crossed entire dimensions on her own to find god yuki. i think they are simply destined to be lovers. thats what i took from it anyway.
The second world Yuno killed her parents by accident, the same way as the first one did, given that besides changes coming from first world Yuno's interventions in the second world, both worlds were intended to be perfect mirrors, given that Yuno's wish was to "go back in time", and not anything else.
Also, second world Yuno dies only days after she killed her parents. It's crystal clear that she talks to her parents skeletons that she will bring her future husband for than to meet before first world Yuno enters in the second world and kills her. So second world Yuno is the one who killed second world Yuno's parents, and given that everything which happened before first world Yuno intervening in the second world is equal to what happened in the first world, we can infer that first world Yuno also killed her parents in the same way (by locking them on the cage).
I disagreem what about in Mirai Nikki radial? she felt as if she was missing someone she loved. (and this is a yuno from another dimension who still had parents and never met yukii.) she wanted to be with him and went through another damn dimension to find him. And yes she eventually got crazy yuno's memories but she's still not that yuno. she left her parents and all her friends to be with yukii. and that can't be because she depended on him it's because she loved him. but good video anyway.

There's also things that I had thought of, that no one seems to consider:
1. Just as Yuki required Yuno to last even a day in the game, Yuno also needed Yuki in a sense. Her diary only shows what Yuki is doing, that means that if Yuki died, her diary would basically be useless, and without a working diary she'd lose the game.
2. Complementing the previous point, she could've just been using Yuki in the sense that Yuki's diary is essentially the best one. So keeping him alive (his diary active) along with the use if her diary would maximize the odds of her winning.
And 3. The original Yuno that won the game, is from another timeline, and she went back in time, creating another continuum, to play the game a second time. So likely, this diary game is all just, as its name suggests, a game to her, meaning she has no actual feelings towards him. Perhaps after the incident, her thoughts were contorted.
To me these are all plausible ideas that could reason to the conclusion of the theory that Yuno doesn't like Yuki

I can see where you're coming from with this theory. It's hard to tell what actually made her latch onto them because the first dimension wasn't seen a whole lot. I'm sure they went through a lot in the first dimension. Which could have created strong feelings for each other. It's a bit far fetch to say she didn't really love him, however like others have said in the comments "she would have latched onto anyone who let her cling to them." True love? Probably not. Love through being through hardship with each other? Most likely. She did after all give up her God powers so he could live.

This may be an extreme example but people don’t fall in love with someone because they’re the “perfect person” for them (at least not at first) but because it’s easy for them to fall in love with. This theory perfectly describes my ideas about every character like this in the entire medium. You have an initial feeling for someone because they just happen to be there for you when you were at your most vulnerable, so you feel like it actually is love when it’s not. That kind of “indebted” nature is extremely unhealthy and unpredictable, we see examples of that with characters who even missed judge their significant others and go crazy on them. No one is safe.
late af but initially yuno did like yuki for no reason when they first met but Yuno went through the first timeline having Yuki step up to protect her (the roles were reversed) so she grew to actually love him rather than use him as an excuse to live. In the second universe, she already knew alot about him and still loved the alternate version of him so that both drove her love in the show and made him so pathetic until later. its still kinda generic but considering that they are the only beings ever who stuck together through timelines dying it makes sense for them to feel attachment without much chemistry

You're basically arguing what "true" love is which alone makes this completely subjective. I'll go a step further and say that if it wasn't true love or something akin to fate-driven love, it probably wouldn't be able to override the laws of space and time, which you should know what I'm referring to if you watched redial. You're basically making a judgement call, a very personalized and thus bias one, of what is and isn't valid expressions of "true" love. So what if Yuno doesn't give many direct compliments? Maybe she doesn't feel there is a need since she shows that he means a lot to her in other ways, like oh I don't know, risking her life countless times over multiple timelines for his benefit even when she isn't given much appreciation for it?
If Yuno's love isn't "true" love, then it's far superior and greater than whatever "true" love seems to be for you. Words, btw, are cheap and mean very little, while actions speak volumes. Yes, some of the things Yuno does are kind of extreme, but they come from a thought process that is very sensible in regard to what she does, which is her way of love (not to mention the extreme circumstances both Yuki and her are in acting as a factor as well). Also, so what if Yuki hooked Yuno to him just from being in the right place at the right time? That's how most of these "true" love bonds seem to form. Heck, all sorts of relationships can stem from just being there at the right time. This theory is ridiculous.
Yes and no... A characteristic of yandere relationships is obsession and possession, rather than an actual healthy love. That isn't to say that Yuno DIDN'T love Yukki; in her mind, she definitely loved him. But it was a warped sort of love, similar to the 'love' seen in abusive relationships. You wouldn't say that a wife-beater loves his wife, would you? Even if he says that he does, and believes that he does, there's something very wrong there. I think the major driving force behind it all was Yukki falling in love with Yuno. Had it stayed one-sided, Yuno would have continued with her obsessive pursuit. After suffering as much emotional and mental trauma as she had, Yukki was akin to a possession near the end. Hence, starting all over again with a new Yukki. It was the turning point near the end that changed all of that and allowed the real, self-sacrificing love to flow between them. If Yukki didn't truly love Yuno, the cycle would repeat. But it's just a theory...!
There was never a time where Yuno was senselessly beating Yuki. Even her more extreme actions had a logic behind them that served Yuki or their perceived identity as a couple. Even if that weren't the case though, and Yuno at some point just started bending Yuki over her knee and gave him a few spankings or slaps or what not, I wouldn't say that disqualifies it as true love or love at all. It's more so indicative as either what most would agree is a bad moral stance, a bad cultural practice, or perhaps even a bad perception of one's own action. Maybe it even is demonstrative of bad self control when dealing with emotional pressure.
An abusive partner to whatever degree such a person is being concluded as, can completely, truly love who they are being rough with. Love is a mental and emotional state, a commitment and dedication, a longing and a declaration of purpose. None of that is suddenly made absent because of an action in and of itself. One must carefully examine what is going on upstairs to determine if the love isn't real or not. In Yuno's case, given Yuki's and her circumstances and context, there is very little doubt that Yuno truly loves Yuki.
Even just before the end when _that_ exchange was going on, Yuno was weighing what she perceived as better for the two of them. It was a battle of perspective and interpretation from within herself and you see her struggling with this throughout. If Yuno just didn't really care about Yuki, there are many, many times throughout this scene and the anime as a whole where Yuno would have foregone such struggles.
Never did I say that Yuno senselessly beat Yukki. I was not implying that their relationship was abusive (though some may disagree, considering a certain degree of brainwashing during the whole 'abduction' thing [against his will], if you remember) or anything of that sort. I was making the comparison because to the ABUSER, any action can be justified through love. Even if she never raised her hand against Yukki, I believe the comparison can be made because most people would consider this relationship unhealthy. To most people, an unhealthy relationship points to a false love of some sort, EVEN IF THE PERSON(S) INVOLVED DO NOT SEE IT THAT WAY. This is why outside sources have to help intervene in these sorts of relationships; if left up to the people involved, it is unlikely that things will change, because the individuals LOVE each other.
Also, if we're examining what's going on 'upstairs', there are many times in these particular relationships where the motives are purely selfish. If we're going by the definition of the purest kind of love, (that is, selfless, unconditional love,) these are not loving actions. Is the person committing these actions going to think of it that way? Of course not. And everyone does this at some point in every relationship. But by ANY definition of 'real' love, possession and/or obsession does not qualify in and of itself as LOVE. Again, the obsessor/possessor will earnestly BELIEVE that they love this person, and to them, their actions ARE loving. In reality--true-to-life examples can be found in stalkers--a desire to be with a person at any and all costs does not constitute love by itself, even if the lover believes that desiring to 'own' a person (whether literally or owning 'rights' to the person through exclusivity) is the same thing as love. Many times, this person will NOT consider the feelings of the object of their affections, so they don't understand why their efforts are thought of as 'bad' or 'creepy'. Obviously, though, there is something wrong with 'loving' someone in this way. Otherwise, restraining orders wouldn't exist.
Yuno was mentally ill. This isn't speculation, this is fact. There was something wrong 'upstairs', even if she had every right to be that way due to the way her life unfolded. This in turn gives her a warped perspective on many things: talking to her dead parents as though they were still alive, believing that everything was out to get Yukki (even if that was justified), believing that everything was trying to take Yukki away from her, and so on. The series is full of examples. The reason I say the turning point was YUKKI accepting HIS love for Yuno is because if he had NOT grasped this, if he had decided to let her go, or continue using her as a tool, or what-have-you, the third world would have played out EXACTLY like the second world. This was Yuno's intention. She was self-centered in thinking that there was no other way to be with Yukki. She would have killed 'herself' again and started over again with a 'new' Yukki. It would have played out exactly the way Yuno wanted it to over and over again if YUKKI had not loved Yuno. Granted, there's more that plays into that plot-wise (like Yukki discovering more details than he did 'last time') but I stand by it.
While Yuno believed thoroughly, from the beginning, that she loved Yukki, by most definitions it was not a normal, healthy love; there were a lot of psychological issues that played into her thought process in addition to the way she acted on her thoughts, and many people would not consider it 'true love' because of this, REGARDLESS of how Yuno felt about it.
I was ruling out physical abuse, and the drug induced kidnapping (not really brainwashing) was one of the things I was referring to when I went on to explain that in her perspective she was acing in their best interests. Seeing the events that this followed, it isn't much of a jump to conclude that Yuno was worried for their (mostly his) preservation. While I disagree with the core basis of your assessment which I will follow up on, I think even more so, you don't really take in consideration the context and circumstances of these two which was a major point in what you are replying to. You simply can't compare normal, everyday life to that of a survival death game with supernatural factors working to destroy your loved one and yourself. Need I remind you how...unintelligent Yuki was through most of this gauntlet? Yuno had plenty reason to take matters into her own hands, perhaps too far some might say, but I really don't think she was unreasonable given the circumstances, despite her dealing with previous traumatic events very openly in that scene.
As I was saying before though, this core premise that you are making is at best a slippery slope, and at worst unwanted intrusion into a personal relationship. Intervening in this specific case could put both people at risk as they are both much more vulnerable on their own, especially Yuki, the presumed victim. I would say the true delusional one would be the person who tries to "help." Frankly though, what "most people think" is of no value or consequence in this scenario as it's a personal judgement call, and looking to a majority doesn't justify anything beyond a subjective level. Thusly, no, outside intervention does not "have" to happen and can easily cause trouble rather than good. One must consider how much is not known, the context, and the circumstances surrounding the actions of the two, but I digress since these things clearly put Yuno in the right of it as preserving their lives takes precedence over Yuki's feelings or ideals.
Being obsessive in and of itself isn't a negative thing. What actions stem from obsession can be positive or negative. To say that love isn't true purely because of obsession is bias association to negative outcomes. In Yuno's case, her obsession over Yuki was paramount to both of their survival which alone makes it positive. As for her possessiveness, there were times where this acted both for them and against them, but that hardly disqualifies her love from being true, far from it. True love does not equate to perfection or else true love wouldn't exist. As for restraining orders, they don't just exist solely to keep stalkers at bay or act as a proof against obsessiveness. They exist to establish incentive for someone to stay away from another and precedence for authority to step in if need be. The reasons why someone would want to establish this vary immensely thus making it a fallacy to suggest that the existence of such a legal action stands as a testament against certain mentalities to an objective extent.
Yuno wasn't crazy, a world that wouldn't let her be with Yuki was. Yuno being mentally ill is certainly up for debate. While I think it's fairly certain she was dealing with various traumatic events which may have lead to erratic actions from time to time, Yuno makes very logical choices in regard to what will best lead to her and Yuki being together. She had to do some rather extreme things following this logic, but the circumstances, again, were extreme as well. Talking to her dead parents was her dealing with traumatic events, a perfectly reasonable coping method in my opinion. Everything _was_ out to get Yuki thus it was rational to act on that premise. Yes, Yuno was very paranoid about things coming between Yuki and her, but I don't believe that in and of itself is indicative of mental illness. It's honestly okay for a relationship to be your number one priority in life and to be dealing with insecurity because of it. However, her insecurities didn't just stem from this alone, but from the fact that Yuki was in-fact safer together with Yuno in their extreme circumstance.
Yes, Yuno also desired things for self focused reasons as well, but that's perfectly reasonable. It's okay for someone to care about both their self and their significant other and makes for a more healthy relationship in my opinion. Likewise, I think it's very reasonable for someone want the relationship to continue indefinitely, and if one had godly powers to do so, I don't think it's ill for them to use them for that purpose. I don't think Yuno was mentally ill for wanting to repeat timelines again and again until she found a way to make it work. Yes, she was willing to simply repeat things, but she was also looking to change things for the better as well. I can't even fault Yuno here because there was no obvious answer as to what was best, it was a judgement call, and an unclear one at that.
As for your concluding statement, it is nothing more than an assumption of what most people believe, which isn't the right criteria even if you are one who believes that majority even matters in this. The better criteria would be the adjustment of _what most people who have taken in account the entire context of the anime_ believe, as opposed to biasly injecting Yuno's actions and thoughts into normal, everyday circumstances. There is nothing normal or ordinary about Yuno's circumstances which is why that distinctive criteria is important. It's the same train of thought as jury member picking. You weed out those who have preconceived biases that make them especially non-objective in regard to a judgement that is being asked to be made.
Taking that into account, I believe the only thing controversial left to decide is if it's okay for someone to be obsessive in love, which ultimately is a personal preference. This is why majority has nothing to do with this. Some people love to be clingy and for their lover to be clingy, others don't. It would be extremely self aggrandizing to suggest that one's personal preference in this should dictate what true love is and isn't. The truth is, what true or ideal love is to one person isn't the same to the next. With that said, if one is someone who believes the preservation of the life of the one someone loves as well as their own life takes precedence in an extreme, extended life and death situation, then most of what Yuno did should make fair sense, and the one to actually be annoyed with is in-fact Yuki. To which, if one cares about majority opinion, most people who watched the anime did in-fact have issues with Yuki rather than Yuno.
On a side note, I really could care less what most people in the USA believe about relationships since as of right now, most people in this country absolutely suck at relationships and our divorce rates grow continually higher as a result.

The ending actually proves she never truly loved him. They still went to the same school the third reality but never even became friends because in that reality, her mom was getting help for her mental disorder so her life wasn't in the gutters and so, she wasn't mentally broken and didn't need to attach herself to anyone. If it was true love, they would be together at the end in the third reality.
That would not have worked, they would have to live in different dimensions, the one they won in. They could visit each other though.

I thought that it was obvious that Yuno and Yukki's love isn't true. Didn't Yuno even say it herself at the end? Of course, she goes back on it (i think), but what she said was still true.
Yuno DID say that she would've loved anyone if she could latch onto them, and that it didn't have to be Yuki, but she didn't say that she DIDN'T love him.
What Yuno said at the end was simply a truth of life. There isn't just one person in the world that a certain person can love there are multiple so long as two people have compatible views on the world or are willing to except each others views and sincerely want to spend time together, then given enough time they most likely will come to love one another, however once they have done all that and fallen in love then the effect known as love becomes irreversible unless some drastic event causes one of the two to become malcontent with the other. Given all that Yukki and Yuno went through I'd say by the end the two genuinely loved one another even if it started as obsession they did eventually fall in love. Yuno tried to kill Yukki with the intention of reuniting with him in another world even if it meant repeating history, also she didn't want him to know the truth because I think she thought it might alter the way Yukki felt about her, which it did, but he still loved her. Also I think she was forcing herself to kill Yukki with the idea of if I kill him it will be all over and then I can go back and be with him again and be happy. I bet she believed this is was the only way she could be with him, probably true since she ended up dying anyway but eventually she couldn't keep it up as the whole kill Yukki process began to drag on which is why instead she decided to lock him in a world of his dreams instead. If she really didn't love Yukki she would have had no problem continuing to try to kill Yukki; I mean she had Dues's core and superior killer instincts she would eventually have killed him if her true feelings didn't get in the way. To put in end to this long essay, my point is, it doesn't matter why her original reason for being with Yukki was, eventually she did love Yukki and he loved her back eventually. It may not have been your traditional sense of love, but given the circumstances how can you expect that right?

No, her love for the *1st* Yukki was genuine. Her love for the 2nd Yukki's was more of an obsession at first -it becomes genuine by the end though.- And I agree with +Dynamo7's reply that Yuno pretty much lied to Yukki in the end as a way to stop him from pursuing her via Discouragement -although I haven't read it, you can pretty much look into it when watching the anime-

Her original goal on the 2nd world was for him to kill her. Since there can only be one candidate living to take on the role of becoming a God. She was hoping that Yukki would be the one to end her life. And if the Yukki in the world she's in can't do it, she'd just go make another one.
um she did love Yuki she just said that she and even yuno would have fell for anyone they latched on too, it didn't have to be each other but they did love each other

yuno has already said that she does not love yukki at his dream world, although she didn't love him she DID love yukki from the 1st world. Only reason the yuno he is talking about in this video came to the 2nd world where yukki is alive is because since she killed yukki in the 1st world she wanted to see him again so she killed yuno from the 2nd world. But she realized she didn't love yukki from the 2nd world as much as yukki from the 1st world. Although, if you watched the very last episode after the 3rd world was created and everything was normal. If you watched until after the credits you'd see yukki and yuno sitting in Yukki's void watching over the world together. Spending eternity together. So, in conclusion if yuno didn't kill yuno from the 2nd world yuno from the 2nd world would have loved yukki. Just as the show hints in the 3rd world, yuno stares at yukki from a distance even though her parents did not die so she wasn't traumatized but she was still jealous of yukki when he was walking with wakaba

This has been in my recommended videos for awhile now, and I decided that it was about time I watched it... And as an introduction to your channel, this was really disappointing. This entire "theory" was stated in the show itself, but even further is the fact that Yuno does fall in love with Yuki. At the very end of the series, after Yuno said that it didn't matter which Yuki it was, and when a new god has to be chosen, Yuno realizes and confesses that she really has fallen in love with 2nd world Yuki, hence why she sacrifices herself. The only way I could excuse this was if you hadn't watched to the end, but if so, then why would you make a theory on it? I'll watch the rest of these "theories", and hopefully I'll find something.

I feel like the show revealed pretty clearly that Yuno wants to keep Yukkiteru alive and to herself that much because she already lost him once in her life before in the previous game. Considering her previous world had pretty much gone to shit it kinda explains why she turned psycho when her only motivation left in life is to try and get what she lost in the last world. Although I agree with you that it's not truly Yukkiteru she loves but more or less just the last bit of motivation she has to keep living at all.
