i did that initially til someone on facebook mentioned this Omix-ADA 12303.21 Jeep Wrangler JK Front Right Full Door Seal. its much thicker and its cleaner look when you take the doors off. It replaces the the door seal and it actually takes a extra tug to close the door.
Why is Jeep so incompetent? I am so confused as to why it is widely accepted to hear, "Well, it's a Jeep-they leak." How is this inferior product considered "good practice" that is simply widely accepted? It's like saying it's a boat... They sink. WHAAAAAT!?!? WHY DOES NO ONE HOLD CHRYSLER RESPONSIBLE? ARE WE JUST STUPID AS CONSUMERS?
It's an engineering defect. I feel the same as you. You pay all this money and rain gets into the cabin. It's really mind boggling that Jeep can't correct this. I bought Drip rail extensions because my hard top leaks from the hard top panel drip rails into the seem of the door onto the floor. It corrected 95% of it but it's still leaking a little bit so I'm going to put the weather striping along the door well like he did in this video and hopefully it' will stop. I have a soft top too but that doesn't leak. It's the drip rails on the hard top and the engineering defect with the weather strips that come with the vehicle are the culprit. If you are going to ask me where I got the drip rail extensions his name is Bil Muessel . He custom makes them. He's a great guy and very nice. Hope this help all you Jeep people.
@@paultreppedi7627 I agree. I just bought a 2017 with 47k miles on it. Had rust bubbling up on the door hinges, I tried to take it to the dealer to have it fixed under the corrosion warranty, Jeep FCA said it was environmental damage and wouldn't cover it. For all the cash we pay into these Jeeps, you'd think basic stuff like leaking door seals, soft tops and rust prematurely happening would be covered.
I would try it, and see if it works for soft doors,,,,I also live in Brooklyn,,, I do a lot of off roading in Pennsylvania, however I have traveled to many different states to off road,,, check out my other videos
Good idea I’m going to try that thanks
Great video and thank you for sharing. I’m going to try this on my soft top as well.

Hey, you are alright man. This worked, was easy and cheap - and it looks like it came that way from the factory.
Dude, you sound like sid from ice age, lol.
Do you have a video on where you applied it on your freedom panels?

Agreed!
But WHY should we have to do this when it’s still under warranty and it is a new jeep $44,000 later??

Janie Tyerman, nice fix, but I would take to dealer and say fix the leak or give me a new Jeep that does not leak.
Ok, enjoy the leaks.... they wouldn't FIX IT ,!!!
