Hanf. For the small price of 10,000 dollars on eBay it can be yours lol there were only like 400 something made. He sells his OM-28 JM through guitar center which is different but around 3,500 dollars. You could get a regular Martin OM-28 and it will have the same sound for around 2,800 but damn that’s still a small fortune for an instrument lol
My best friend and I was at this show. This was our 23rd John show in 6yrs. I swear if you listen to the section on John's right, I can hear us scream from our toes. Out of all the shows we saw, we never got to see this song live. There is always something different and wonderful about him in Birmingham. He had told me, when I met him at Eddie's Attic in 2005 and we were talking "I love Birmingham. I promise that I will always come back to Birmingham. I PROMISE YOU. ALWAYS."
I was at this show. I've seen John 27 times in 10 years but this was the first time I saw him do In Your Atmosphere live. The bloody screams to his left was my best friend and myself. "Check" screaming..yeah guilty. No one beats him live, each show is different set list everything. Thank you for posting this.
0:38 "i actually wrote this song on a bus in Birmingham" 0:40 a man's complete and utter disbelief that John Mayer or possibly anyone could ever have written any music on a bus "NOOO"
I never cried as much in public as I did when he played this song that night. I literally cried through the entire song. Thank you so much for posting this. It's the best clip from that night I've seen so far.
John Mayer's number one fan here. I go to every concert when he's in town. Have yet to hear this one live. It's my favorite. Please John, you've held my hands, taken a picture with me, but how about my favorite song? :)
@logandil I think its a reference to the promise he made on the "Any Given Thurday" DVD where he said to the crowd at the end of the concert "Lets grow old together, that could be fun." He has grown a lot since then so he is keeping his word, and I personally love wathcing him every year that goes by.
thanks guys i filmed this on a Canon T1i dslr in 720p. this was my first time getting to use the camera's HD video so i was pumped when it turned out this well.
@logandil in the any given thursday album that he recorded in birmingham for his first record and the end of the show he said lets grow old together so 10 years later he was talking about how he kept his promise
I like the fact that John sticks to his original compositions. Because if any of you have seen a live Counting Crows show, Adam butchers his own compositions in the name of "improvisation."
@LoservilleTV In the video titled 'Any Given Thursday' filmed in 2002, he's on stage and says 'Let's grow old together. That might be fun.' That's what he's refering to.
@LoservilleTV i think its in reference to what he says near the end of his Any Given Sunday album/DVD, he says it'd be fun to grow old together or something and i think that was in birmingham too
I was pretty surprised when we got it in but we didnt do anything sneaky. My friend walked in with it around his neck, the ticket checkers and other workers never said a thing... can you say success? haha
No, actually, it's the song "Everything you'll ever be" that people sometimes call "Hotel Bathroom Song", because he once said he wrote it in a hotel bathroom, not this one. This song is though sometimes called "The LA song" (instead of "In Your Atmosphere"), because of obvious reasons :)
This song is also called "Hotel Bathroom Song" because he said he wrote it while in there... but here he says he write in on a tour bus in Birmingham... Hmmm... I'm suspicious...
@Sunamogura Seems like a whole load of effort man! .. I'd just pause it, grab a sandwich come back to my laptop and hit reply ;) .. But the scenic route definitely seems more entertaining!
This song makes me want to strip naked, burst out of my room window, free fall 21 floors, land in the snow, make a snow angel, shiver from the cold, get hypothermia, DIE!, go the pearly gate, say whats up to Saint Peter, do our secret hand shake, look in the directory for Siddhartha (Buddha), find Him, have Him reincarnate me into a frog, meet a princess, kiss her, turn into a prince, order my subjects to bring me a computer, listen to this song again, and cry myself to sleep.
This guy is one of those few artists who sound better live than he even will on an album. An amazing artist
This song makes me wanna get lost in the streets in the middle of the night
Anybody else think that he should just do a solo tour where he just plays acoustic all night?
it would even better with steve jordan and pino paladino ..
TheAmaterazzzu where the first half of the set is all pop acoustic, and the second half is a trio attack. I like it
So basically where the light is...
So basically the search for everything?
He did that in 2008
That guitar sounds is just gorgeous.

@@mattqualley2017 what guitar is he using in this vid?

John never disappoints in concert.

God. I had front and center seats to see him (nobody sat lol) that's amazing
my only show. was rly cool when he said he’s wrote me it on a bus in my hometown. one of my favorites
John's voice has gotten so much better. I'm so excited to see the rest of his rise to being a fully apreciated impersonation of awesomeness.
This is why I have such a deep emotional attachment to him. It feels like his songs come straight from my own heart.
in my opinion this is his greatest acoustic song ever...cant believe its not on an album, should have been on continuum!!
The level to which I can relate to this song, and his situation is unreal
0:38 "i actually wrote this song on a bus in Birmingham" 0:40 a man's complete and utter disbelief that John Mayer or possibly anyone could ever have written any music on a bus "NOOO"
intelligent lyrics, excellent guitar execution, great vocals. this is his best work since gravity.
this is the most that i’ve ever heard him talk about the song
I've never heard anyone who can so seamlessly blend songs together. Amazing, as always!
I never cried as much in public as I did when he played this song that night. I literally cried through the entire song. Thank you so much for posting this. It's the best clip from that night I've seen so far.
This is one of my favorite live performances by John. I find myself coming back at least every year.
am i the only one to thing that somethings missing is pure art... i think if it can be recorded in a paper it could be in a museum...
John Mayer's number one fan here. I go to every concert when he's in town. Have yet to hear this one live. It's my favorite. Please John, you've held my hands, taken a picture with me, but how about my favorite song? :)
This was insane. you could see him working the somethings missing part out in his head.
this will make you miss birmingham for sure
one of the best recording at a live concert I've seen. most of them are unlistenable. glad to see someone could do it properly.
I will never not love this song
@logandil I think its a reference to the promise he made on the "Any Given Thurday" DVD where he said to the crowd at the end of the concert "Lets grow old together, that could be fun." 2 of my favorites in one, perfect!
my man send me this song..hes a big mayer fan....we both are fans..thanks for the music
perfect song to end the day!
1:48 - What a great move Johnny boy when you can't remember the next part of the song - Legendary :D
I think he didn't remember the chord, but still great show
What an absolutely beautiful song...
@LoservilleTV John says "I said we'd grow old together and you are keeping me to my word, thank you."
it is on an album ;)..it's called "where the light is"...i recommend you check it out, it's his best album -in my opinion ;)
Damn this version was amazing as well ! Really hope I can watch his live once in my lifetime.
ZERO dislikes. That explains it. And don't dislike it just to ruin it
aside from where the light is, this is definitely the best live version of this song, thanks for posting!!
That is an awesome transition between the two songs.
easily my favorite song of all time.. this is a really great version of it too!!
really cool to see him having fun with his own music in 5:13
Oh please continue forever playing this song. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Love it!
perfect blend. amazing.
That was incredible.
Incredible rendition!
my two fav songs ever
haha love it when he just says, "we're all gonna just pretend that we're in my living room.."
thanks guys i filmed this on a Canon T1i dslr in 720p. this was my first time getting to use the camera's HD video so i was pumped when it turned out this well.
i love how this video was made!
Can't wait for the tour in spring! See you on the road JM
Sheeeeeer GENIUSS.
"without your voice to tell me, I love you, take a right.."
@logandil in the any given thursday album that he recorded in birmingham for his first record and the end of the show he said lets grow old together so 10 years later he was talking about how he kept his promise
favorite john mayer song!
Briliant.
Beautiful video.
God, what a legend.
@LoservilleTV
It's from the DVD Any Given Thursday. A while back he said "we'd grow old together" and years down the road he kept the promise
this is just fantastic. thank you for posting it :)
Thank you for this beautiful video.
I like the fact that John sticks to his original compositions. Because if any of you have seen a live Counting Crows show, Adam butchers his own compositions in the name of "improvisation."
amazing video...
god he's amazing

I love you.
love u john ♥
@LoservilleTV i think its in reference to what he says near the end of his Any Given Sunday album/DVD, he says it'd be fun to grow old together or something and i think that was in birmingham too
He dose things with a guitar I haven't seen since Lindsey Buckingham! I'd like to see them too play together!
@pteuwen yea I know it's on the live but I meant on one of the records!! Trust me I know all about where the light is:)
@gabriell16bishop Agreed completey, except that he wrote this song way before Gravity, back in his Room For Squares days, it was just never released.
Wonderful. Perfect day
I was pretty surprised when we got it in but we didnt do anything sneaky. My friend walked in with it around his neck, the ticket checkers and other workers never said a thing... can you say success? haha
God this song is technical, nice editing btw! :D
Something's missing...US.... 💑 @johnmayer ⚘
@phatfieldguitar not totally natural, but it's still not auto-tune. just produced more for the DVD.

oh yea,you got talent my friend, keep posting and write that novel!
@JAFFACAKE70 i know. birmingham, alabama at the bjcc! i live there and missed it!
-I actually wrote this song on the bus in Birmingham.

@wheaties1414 That makes too of us. I've got to catch him next go around. I'm still sulking.
Well done. very well edited. Thought it was a professional live vid
Good stuff.
I think I have been inches away from this guy and didnt even know it.
@logandil think he says something to that effect on 'any given thursday' live cd.
This song is also called "Hotel Bathroom Song" because he said he wrote it while in there... but here he says he write in on a tour bus in Birmingham... Hmmm... I'm suspicious...

It's actually not the OMJM but the limited one that came first, called OM28JM :)
@Sunamogura Best UA-cam Comment ever seen great styles! :)))
Birmingham gets all the best concerts lol
@Sunamogura
add like a boss after every comma ;)
@Sunamogura Seems like a whole load of effort man! .. I'd just pause it, grab a sandwich come back to my laptop and hit reply ;) .. But the scenic route definitely seems more entertaining!

From which song is the lick he plays at 6:05ish?
+LikeA Boggs It's from the start of Something's Missing.
