If you like retinol, consider retinaldehyde (Avene makes a lovely one). It is better than retinol because it is only one step removed in the conversion to retinoic acid, whereas retinol is 2 steps. And it is still over-the-counter.

Thank you for addressing the issue of frequently changing out skincare products! I was an Aesthetician for over a decade. Skincare needn't be swapped out if it works. Maybe you need a heavier moisturizer at certain times of the year or you were really lax with your diet and its showing now so you need something to help cell turnover (like those masks you spoke about), then add one. But, basic good skincare can stay virtually unchanged for a long time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it applies here.

Whoa this skincare regimen is *expensive* 😲 The Ordinary lactic acid, the ordinary salicylic acid, The Ordinary Argiriline, Timeless vitamin C serum, and Bliss Protect-4 Retinol cream, will give the same results, and a fraction of the price. 😳
Also, Good Molecules makes a rice powder mask just like the powder mask in this video. It’s the pineapple exfoliating powder. It is absolutely amazing! It has rice powder in it, and all the same ingredients Tatcha rice powder has…and it’s 15 bucks. I use it every morning and night.
These luxury skincare companies are completely ripping people off with their prices. It doesn’t cost that much money to create and manufacture their products. They are making a fortune on profits.
Edited to say…I LOVE your videos and never miss one! 🙏🏼😊

she uses "la roche posay cica baume b5"- this is what she uses for the retinol sandwich trick she described here, i have heard this on stories, on insta less than a month ago. I have cicabaume too, very soothing cream, and i may get the more affordable retinol she has shown us here too. Last year i was watching her and got really influenced by the drunk elephant series, so i got carried away and bought the cream, the vitamin c, the eye cream and the glycolic night serum (framboos) the polypeptide cream is now a runny water (maybe i should be having it in the fridge, but it went bad in less than 8 months) and all the rest - apart from the framboos that i will buy again - were nothing special really, so that was a lesson well learned.

I don’t know why glycolic acid is never talked about in skincare. It is almost as effective as prescription retinol, helping with texture, acne, diminish fine lines and uneven skin. It is a great exfoliator giving a beautiful glow and evenness to the skin. So many of the products people love for having a very noticeable and quick result for pigmentation issues, texture, large pores and gentle exfoliate has glycolic acid in it. One example is Pixie Glow Tonic which people love and it has always had a huge cult following and it’s because it is glycolic acid at a decent percentage to start giving results very quickly. It is way less harsh than traditional peels while giving the same result when used routinely.

I have rosacea so am often very red, and go to IPL treatments every 6-8 weeks. The very very best for redness Ive found, with my condition making it much worse than for most people - is Centella asiatica. NOTHING ELSE when it comes to botanicals. Its perfect. Add your non active moisturiser over and your skin will be fine. Dont overwork your skin with 10+ actives. Thats just asking for redness and irritation.

For those that do not tolerate retinol ( I have very sensitive skin , acne prone) you will love Azelaic acid which works great for getting rid of hyperpigmentation , helps with minimising future acne scars and also anti ageing. You can get 15% azelaic acid gel from pharmacy or ask you dr and its soooo much cheaper than some of these luxurious brands or skincare brand azelaic acid. I mix a pea size of the Azelaic gel with a pea size of my fav moisture at night only , mix the two and apply to skin to slowly build tolerance. I think like with most things you get what you pay for! A cheap pair of shoes won’t last as long as a more expensive pair 😮. Obviously money is added on for packaging etc which is annoying. i guess we also pay for the name as well. The only exception i’ve found is the Cereve line, simple but effective for a cheap price 😊. i save up £2 and 50p coins, it’s surprising how quickly the amount adds up! i just worry tht people get into huge amounts of debt buying beauty products, it’s so tempting. x

Great and very informative video thank you. I am so pleased you mentioned Dr Idriss' new products, I have been following her as long as yourself for just about 2 years . Her for skin products and you for make up and it has made a huge difference to my skin and make up so I think you made a perfect combination. It has been pricey, haha, but so worth it. So good to see you show products that I already use, but the Tata product went in the shopping bag ! Have a good Sunday!

The line _Retrinal_ from AVÈNE is crazy effective. RetinALdehyde (not RetinOL) is only one step behind pure tretinoine but it feels soft and gentle. The best of tretinoine without having to avoid the eye area. In Europe the price is reasonable, not a low cost product but not a 130€ unjustified high end brand. You can always go to your pharmacy and kindly ask for a sample. Hope it helps 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

I use prescription Retin A, and what a journey it's been. Red, itchy, flaky skin, and I made every mistake in the book, putting it on my NECK, god, well, now I've got my routine down and my skin be so happy. I am dry and 58 so you know I'm dry. I use Timeless C + E + Ferulic, The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10%, and Timeless Co Q 10 in the a.m. followed by La Roche Posay UV MUNE 400 (I live in the states). At night I alternate between Curology (My formula is .14% Tretinoin, 5% Tranexamic Acid and 4% Niacinamide) and a tube of .1% Tretinoin from the pharmacy. On my neck I alternate between the Avene Retrinyl and the MaeLove Moonlight Retinal Serum. Until the last six months, I would wake up in the morning with some crustiness despite putting on a moisturizer after those nightly actives. Then, I just saw this cream when I was placing another international order, and decided to try it. GAME OVER. LRP Toleriane DERMALLERGO CREME. The great leveler. My skin be so happy. I am no longer waking up and running to the bathroom to put on a moisturizer before I even make the coffee. Love La Roche Posay. They make my favorite products and I buy them all from FRANCE, and get them shipped to me here in tiny Western Massachusetts. Thank goodness for a global economy. Also I just think skincare from France has got it all over any skincare in the US. I know I can get Toleriane products here, but they are just better formulated from FR.
