Maybe you could put up another medicine cabinet.
Exactly! Check the stud location and just install another medicine cabinet. Very inexpensive and fairly easy to install.
Hey Nick. Hands down the best Shave Vlog on You Tube. Concise, consistent and informative. Your format is perfect and you should definitely keep it. I'm a new wet shaver and after experimenting a bit I have patterned my routine after yours and the results are very good. Keep it up.
congrats on the move! my wife and I just bought our first house and I'm still setting up my den aswell
Ian Muessig congrats
Congrats on the new place - great shave. Why don't you put up another mirrored medicine cabinet?
Does anybody know if using AS balm after a scented splash will make the scent last less? Thanks.
Hi Nick, I am a newbie to wet shaving and love watching your videos! I request you to please review the Feather Popular Safety Razor. I have started using this razor and want to see your expert review. Please oblige. Thanks.
no side cabinet :( how are you storing everything now? A new shave den tour once you are settled would be great!
Are you gonna go back to all reviews when you're done moving?
To cut down on the echos try putting some more towels in there, you just need more stuff to absorb the sound waves.
Why don't you put ads on your videos? You could make so much money
In the mean time you can hang up towels wherever you can to cut down on the echo.
You need to try Viking Citron and Uncle Jon's (recommend Pipesmoke, bayrum, Silk Road).
Also, your face after three days looks like mine after a week.
I'm very concerned about the lack of new vids. Heard he'd been found wandering Newbury St with an overgrown beard, mumbling about finding best way to make the perfect lather. Just kidding absolutely love the videos with the honest input on your reviews. Hope all is well, and looking forward to your next vids!
Congratulations Nick, great new shave den....and a great shave....all the best......Paul.
4:20 you say the scent is nice, but your face says nooo hahaha
Rockwell 6S is one of the best razors for its price. Can't wait for the T model to be released.
I can never shave my upper lip clean lol. there's hairs at the corners of the top lip and they never shave. I get very close but when I do, i knick my lip. it's so annoying. I use an Edwin jagger, astra blade, with original Barbasol shaving cream. maybe you can try this and see how u like it? maybe it's just a bad combo?
Nick: Thanks for reviewing the Personna Red. How would you say they compare to Personna Labs?
Yay! New house!
Great shave Nick! I hope you and your wife are liking the new place. The Rockwell is a great razor. I've been using plate 6 for my last couple of shaves and an Astra SP. I'm gonna try Gillette Platinum today. Thanks for putting these videos out, I've learned so much from them. Have a great weekend!
great video sir,,,sorry i havent watched your vidz ,,,been busy here man,,,,but ill get to them pretty quick
Your 3-day beard is my 6-day beard :D
Another Rockwell 6S success story...good job, man!
Love the Rockwell Razor! Best of both worlds very efficient and so smooth. Just picked up a special DLC version at the Maggards meet up.
I would like for you to review the Vikings Blade White Knight Brush and the Parker Varient razor. I have already previously suggested TOBS Aloe Vera. Thanks so much... love your vids!
Friggin good old Nick, I bet there are hundreds of women with self inflicted injuries where he lives, just so he can operate on them...LOL For me, the Rockwell, pound for pound, simply can't be beat. It provides the absolute smoothest shaves with zero weepers on setting 5 and 6. I fing love my Rockwell, the Model T should be here soon and I NEED a backup 6s set. My obsessive compulsive nature demands a backup set.
After watching this video I purchased a Rockwell 6S and I couldn't be happier. I was using a Vanderhagen before and it was tearing my face up. This razor is so smooth it makes you think all of the people still using disposable razors are idiots. Definitely worth the money. If you haven't tried wet shaving you should. The blades are way cheaper and give you a much closer shave.
Question, why bloom a soft soap, IMO makes no sense, hard soap ya. Been DE shaving 50+ yrs. Just my two cents.
Congrats on the move! I noticed you are liking the Personna Reds as of late. Although I have yet to try them, I have been really digging the Crystal blades, which are also Israeli made, and I believe by the same company. Sharp, smooth, priced well, and they seem to last pretty well. They are the first blade I felt confident enough with to go against the grain. Great match with my DE89, will likely also work well in your 34C or 6S. Cheers.
Looks good man. I found LED bulbs work really well for lighting, plus they are very energy efficient. It doesn't sound bad to me. My Omega boar brush is hands down the best I've ever used.
Why don't you review the 'Art of Shaving' products??
I ordered a Chrome Gunmetal version of the Rockwell 6S for $45! Really looking forward to trying this razor.
Hey Nick, I just started wet shaving. I am getting ready to do my third shave. I am some Art of Shaving material. I was wondering what some good products that I could use? I have real sensitive skin kinda like yours.
Hi Nick, I would like to ask you a thing. How do you preapare the beard soap? Directly on your face or first in a bowl? Thank you for answer and compliments for you video!
Is the Parker 26C a good second safety razor? My first was an Edwin Jagger 89DE.
First, congrats on the move. I was wondering if you have ever reviewed or if not, if you would review Cremo concentrated shave cream. From what I have read, it's not suppossed to really lather but it's supposed to be the slickest stuff out there. I was thinking that if it is as slick as they say, I might try it as a pre-shave. would love for you to try the priduct and give your thoughts. (It is available at most Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.
I've been really thinking about getting a safety shaver but I'm not 100%sure on what would be a good shaver and blade combo for me. could you please give me a hand thanks
Glad you are back. Could you do a review on Nacet blades? I see there are two varieties, Stainless and Platinum. I'd like to hear how they compare to the Astra SP blades.
don't know if you'll see this or not, but I just wanted to thank you. you're the reason I got into wet shaving. randomly looked up videos on correct shaving/wet shaving years ago and I came across yours. once again, thank you for all that you do, Nick!
Congrats on the new place. Boston? I liked the second mirror you used to have. Also just ordered the 6S. Do you think the Persona Reds are better than the feather blades?
I could swear this is your second move. Be safe, love the new place!
The new shave den seriosuly almost looks exactly like the last one.
Is there not enough space on that wall to put another cabinet-mirror?
Nick, do you have any reviews on products from the New York shave company??
It's now officially a shave den! Dinky brush. Nice to see this razor in action.
Hey Nick, I'm glad to see that you enjoying your Rockwell 6 S. It is a hell of a razor!
Can you do 2017 edition of slickest soaps ? I Have very sensitive skin, so I prefer slick soaps and creams .
I tried the Rockwell and found it a wonderful razor but way too heavy for me ... back to the old Type :-)
Have you tried Cold River Soap Works yet? They have some really nice scents, would be interesting to see your take on it.
Mr Nick, the vocal fry makes your voice sound terrible.
am a girl, could you get your wife to make a shave video for us?No one really taught me,this is helpful, but not a girl.
Interesting shave. Good luck and enjoy your new shave den.
anyone in Denver? I'm searching for a physical store with a good selection of shave soaps, fragrances, etc
Hey Nick, work the mic closer it will reduce the echo. Congrats on the new digs, keep up the good work!
This is really random and maybe even dumb lol but what if you got a mount that sticks on the mirror to hold your camera lol like so it's directly in front of you? Ahah something different maybe not possible
Can you make a video with the soaps you reach for everyday...thanks.
Hope you enjoy your new place. Great video. Nice to see you back buddy. Take care.
Egg cartons cut in half work really well as a cheap sound baffle to reduce echo. Ugly as sin though
you should move the camera a little to the right as we can see a bit of the wall next to the left of the mirror.
Get a side mirror and maybe put the patent above it or maybe mount a shelf too. There is a lot you can do with empty space. If you really want you could buy a vintage medicine cabinet and install it in there haha
Good shave video nick. Second mirror and some wall art to fill the space might work
regarding the echo. perhaps it help a little bit if you were standing on a Ikea Toftbo bath mat or similar
I would totally go with a mirror or even install a medicine cabinet.
316th like and 96th comment so early lol.
TFS soaps are very underrated. I personally love the sotto zero.
they are good blades r they personna RED i like them
Congratulations on your new home!
Dr. Nick,
You make great shave vlogs! Thanks for your efforts. I really enjoy your work.
What is your favorite DE blade? Mine is the Polsilver.
I believe a mirror on the wall on your left shoulder is a wonderful idea (or a new medicine cabinet with a mirror).
Put the second mirror up again similar to old setup
nick can you do a review on bombay shaving razor
I would like to see you unbox the Rockwell 6S!
Good review nick ! Keep these videos coming
Hey Nick if you end up getting a medicine cabinet I'd be interested in how you hang/mount it. I've been considering one for my bathroom but I'm concerned about mounting since I rent. Also are you excited about the Model T coming out?
Just fill in the holes with putty and touch up the paint if you move out of your rental
This guy takes shaving to the next level lmao
have a question, I'm new to shaving with a safty razer, and I keep getting razer bumps on my neck, what can I do to help that not happen? now I don't have a pre and post balm or stuff like that would that help?
I had that issue as well when I started and it helped me to just put a little extra cream all over my neck before lathering (I started out face lathering) and work to get the angle right with NO pressure, then do 2 passes, with the grain than kind of across the grain. I've never tried a pre-shave; I just use use cream from the tube on my neck or extra soap if I bowl lather. Whenever you don't HAVE to shave, skip a day or 2 and then shave. Good luck!
I think I find these way too interesting 😂
the # 5 plate feels exactly like the EJ89 to me. It never disappoints.
I love DE89 and yes it never let me down! I am curious how aggressive is the #6 plate...
why does he look like nick coletti?
A good shave Nick and what appears to be a great razor. Thanks.
Brian B. shut the fuck up
Are you still in Boston?
So should I bite the bullet and buy a Rockwell 6s or should I stick with the old faithful Merkur34c?
grey Stick with the 34C
Thanks Zerofued!! I'm hearing and learning it becomes more about the technique than the specific razor
grey My Favorite Razor is a 1954 Gillette Super Speed 40's Style Z1 as my daily driver. I also have a Merkur 34c which is a great razor, but for me personally...nothing beats vintage. You are right though, it's more about technique than the razor.
dude were are you?!
no mamen
poster first lol
lol
👍👍
Hey its Mr. Bond himself!!!
Theyellowtable !!! 👍👍
how do you clean your soap box after shaving ?
How do you dry it out? Leave the lid open until it drys? or with a towel?
Yes. Creams don't need to dry out.
Great video, Nick. If possible, I think it would be great for there to be another mirror to your right so you can film all angles. That was a really cool feature of your previous shave den.
