The doc did such a great job. I’m so glad you both are good with showing this in that most everyone should take your pig to the vet for this but I live in the far north of Canada with no vet for small pets within a 6 hour drive. I’ve been able to fix hay poke eyes (2cm or more) in my girls from watching you . Your team is always such an inspirational resource to all piggy lovers. Thank you ❤😊
What a mellow piggie. This was fascinating to watch. Seems like that clamp is the way to go in finding those little bits that seem to be hiding. And no sutures! BTW, my piggies love those cookies too. 😀🐾
I learned about cysts by watching your channel, Saskia. Then I started watching Dr Pimple Popper, Dr Lee. She once said that the "technical " term for cyst contents was "gunk". So nice to hear the same word from Dr Nenn. And it is also nice to watch that the vet's procedure is the same as for humans.
Glad you showed this. This is so much better. Anthesia can be harder on guinea pigs then just some numbing medicine. This little piggies seems so calm and he knows he is in good hands.
Wonderful that he didn't have to have surgery. Is there a name for the little white nodules ? I was looking very closely during this interesting surgery. Your Buddha boys are wonderful. I don't hear Weedwacker. Is he OK? Thanks for this educational video.
Does she culture these or send them to a lab for analysis? I’m a 30 plus year retired vet tech. I’ve never seen that type of tissue inside a cyst. Usually a “sack”. Very interested in lab or culture results if you get them. Thanks for interesting video. Love your channel. ❤
I have spoke to a few vets, not giving up yet, but what is the best way to get the vet to understand doing removals like this is safe and ok? Seems the 4 I spoke to this far all require putting your piggies under. BTW my piggies love both kinds of your cookies. Thanks for being awesome, can the doctor become a travel piggie doctor 😆. We love you guys.
Unfortunately a lot of vets aren’t extremely educated on guinea pigs, a lot of them still think that the black ear wax (when it comes to a guinea pigs with black skin) means the ears infected.
@@jaydiarie yeah that is what I'm seeing but not gonna give up till I find the best vet for my babies. But is there a way you can speak with the vet that may sound and or be better for them to understand? Thanks
@@LosAngelesGuineaPigRescue OMG, never thought of that. Thanks for all you do, I hope one day to meet you. Me and my piggies look forward to seeing more treats from you. They all loved the two you made. Bless you and the rescue.
My cat has goten in fights about every six months. He is fixed, but it seems like some male cats that are not fixed find their way here sometimes and he defends his terratory. So i take him to the vet to get his wound cleaned and usually he needs some meds. One time he had a wound the vet tried to get the gunk out without anything. Cause he has been put under alot, and it’s not the best thing. This was on his face between the eye and the ear. He sat there completly quiet while she squised the gunk out. He could have used his claws and tried to bite. But he just sat there. Both the vet and the vet teck was amazed. They where like, this is one of the nicest cats i have ever seen!! Most cats you can’t do this with at all. He is soooo nice!! Lol. Last time i was there too they said he is no well behaved. I said he is nice when he’s out and naughty at home. Just like the kids the vet said, and i was like yeah! Lol. I had to go to another vet one time. The one i use was closed for christmas break. My cat it a big boy lol. He is long, tall, and a bit too much junk in the trunk. And he is all white. He was walking around the room and the vet tec asked if i could lift him up on the table. I saw that she was scared of him. He has never tried to claw at anyone, so i was really suprised. But then i figured she had probably been in contact with some extremly angry cats before. But maybe it’s not the right job for her if she’s scared of cats…
What causes this type of growth? Some type of initial damage to the skin or is it just kinda spontaneous like other cysts...? None of the white material was actually pus (white blood cells), right?
@@LosAngelesGuineaPigRescue did you read my messages about these crystals, concerning arthritis? It happens with horses and humans. Depending on which (oxalate rich) vegetables or grass they eat.
you know what these look like to me? Furuncles ... they are infections in the hair shaft. It looks like all of the 'fat nodules' are really puss from each individual hair follicle.
Can guinea pigs be conciderd a companion animal ? I love piggies so much and want a companion animal. I live in a nursing home but I love to cuddle them
Can you talk about the eye thing? I searched for videos or info and can’t find anything. I noticed one of my boys has it around the top of one eye, I pointed it out to the vet recently and she said it was a bit of gunk that may need an antibiotic cream, but to wait until his course of antibiotics finished as they may well clear that up too. (He had an upper respiratory infection, all better now.)
When it is Calcium in the eye nothing help. No Cream ir something. It grows slow over the Eye can make it blind or not. The Eye pressure can get higher. That have to be under control then with Creams or Drops. But it doesn't Stop it
It's called in English "Osseous Metaplasia" like Saskia said. Scotty has a Video about it. I will watch it yet too. Saskia has no Video about it I think
@@schokolina2401 thanks so much for letting me know, I really appreciate that. I must’ve missed it when I looked through Scotty’s videos, thanks again!
You're very welcome. I had to Google the Name for it in English. I only knew the German Words for this My Piggie has this Issue with her eyes too and that's what I know about this. I comment under Scottys Video my experience with that and what my Vet said.

It's the piggy edition of pimple popper. I am fascinated and grossed out at the same time.
Yup piggy edition of pimple popper
They are not fat nodules. I believe they are the same type of cysts that people can have with small pebbles of calcification. Love Casanova!
Oh I bet that feels so much better after getting that icky out. He’s a good boy Casanova

Awwww, good boy! You are so lucky to have an awesome vet. Wish we had a 'Dr. Nenn' here where I live.
beautiful Casanova. feel better soon!
Y’all were so careful and gentle! It was so sweet to watch 😢 Blessings and Peace ❤️✝️
I love Saskia. She is so gentle to here lovely little animals and knows so much about things.

Wow!! So many in there.
Saskia thanks again for sharing this it was very interesting to see ✨👌🏾
amazing doc was wonderfully skilled
Good boy! Fascinating
what a good boy! i want a cookie when i go to the doctor. 😊
I'm surprised the piggie didn't need sutures! Will the glue hold it together long enough for it to heal?
What a good boy❣🙏🌹
Wow. You can use glue?! So cool.
Is it a pilomatracoma
and well done to Dr nenn she's marvellous

No point to spend the money. This one was a first for all of us with the little "pearls" all over the tissue. It looked and felt like tiny lipomas.
1st and what a cutie! ❤

more for your collection saskia
I wish more exotic veterinarian did this or just learned about it.
Here’s an interesting question since it was fat and not pus would that technically count as a lipoma or would it still be considered a cyst?
Very good question, I was thinking that myself last night. Or were they little multiple cysts? Not likely but yes not a regular cyst
That looks like a pilomatracoma.
Oh, ein Aua. Dinge die die Welt nicht braucht. Danke

I can't stand the show Dr Pimple Popper, but I have no issues watching things like this on guinea pigs.
That is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen.
That almost looks like gout.
All I wanted to say was I wish he yes Cassanova didn’t need the needle
That is a calcified cyst. They are not dangerous and not that uncommon.
