What a sweet quiet good boy. He totally trusts his dr! So gentle his care, removing stuff from him causing much stress and pain. Fantastic job! 👏 He'll be feeling sooo much better! What would we do without people like her? God bless the work you've chosen. 💯❤🙏
I don't know how this landed in my feed, but I have fallen for this adorable gentleman. The look on his face while the woman works on him is hilarious! Until the foot, that was heartbreaking to hear his little complaints. Such a sweet little guy. Thanks for taking such careful care of him! ❤
Is anyone else plugged in that she’s removing an impact ion, handling a blocked gland, talking about toe amputation, a threatening systemic impact ion and in the background the owners are giggling and making jokes? This is such a helpful video thank you for posting
Jefferson: I came here with a foot problem, suddenly now everyone's focusing on my butt! However, dang, that part feels better now. All I know is that when I get over this problem, I will demand regular personal grooming, pedicures and great walking surfaces and particular home conditions. 😌
Don’t think I have seen such a chill piggie as Jefferson. He reminds me of my first piggie, Fritzchen. Hope the foot improves. Thanks, Lyn, Shantel, and Justin.
For such a personal exam and cleaning that is probably the sweetest Ginny I have ever seen, he is so sweet and trusting he’s just sitting there losing track and watching his face not the cleaning💕
I love watching all of you with the piggies, all so lovely with them, speaking so nice. You can tell they are all so loved.Should all animals be loved like these piggies they would be very lucky!!
Awwhh.. he's a real 'Buddha pig' as Saskia would say (ultra chilled out and no dramas). I have a 3 year old boar like that called Dusty, amongst my little herd. Gets on with anyone. I can't get over Jefferson though, it's almost as if he knows your helping him! 🥰
I've found this with my male rats when their nearing 2 and half to 3, they don't clean the winkies out anymore and if you feel that area round the outside it starts to feel gritty. So I would soak and clean them but also give them liqudiced watercress or watercress to munch on as it helps the kidneys and bladder areas. But it's definitely a sign of old age
@@GuineaPigStuff Please let me know when you post the video. I love Jefferson, he is such a sweet little guy. I would love to cuddle with him. P.S. Don't tell my girls that. Keep it between you and I. Lol. 🤭😊
What an adorable piggie! You are so patient with these little guys. I have two piggies and absolutely adore them. I come on UA-cam frequently to see different ideas for food, care and toys and also to learn about any problems they can develop so I know what to watch out for. So thank you for doing these videos so others can learn proper care and to learn when something is definitely not right and requires veterinary care! On a side note, is there something going on with his left eye? At the end when he was in the grass it looked very white. Maybe I missed something or maybe it's light reflecting somehow?
Hello Lyn, Shantel and Justin!!! This is my 1st seeing ur video, I guess it’s because I have watched a lot of Saskia’s videos, I’m sure u know who I’m talking about cause there aren’t many caring people out there providing their skills to give health checks to other people’s piggies, anyway, she has the rescue center for piggies n California. I enjoyed ur video, loved how u were patient, gentle and kind to Jefferson, I was amazed at his calm and patient with the length of time he had to be still. I’ve never had a piggy, but have had snakes, rats, and a possum, piggies r very adorable, and would love to have a pair, unfortunately, it would not work out having them full time due to that I have very sensitive hearing, loud noises hurt. But I can enjoy and learn about them on UA-cam. I hope I find the follow up video on Jefferson. I thank u, appreciate u (Shantel and Justin as well) for giving ur time and care to the little ones!!! Thank u
This was a video from a while back that I have had a chance to pop up for you. We have all been in lockdown for over 100 days. Although we are shortly to re-open
Jefferson reminds me of my old piggy Piglet. Piglet and he brother Rascal have been gone for two years now. They died of old age. I had them since they were 3 months old.
It's been almost a year since we met Jefferson. How are things with him? Has he found a buddy? He's so cute and so mellow. He seems to know the lady hooman is helping him. I can imagine what's going through his mind. I came to find a friend and I 'm getting my privates cleaned and my paws picked at. I like the attention but my paws hurt. Give me some feel good stuff or something to eat and I'll let you do whatever you need to.
Hi Susan know he is off his feet which is more painful and if you watch the start, he was unable to move when he arrived, but after was able to walk about - so it gave him great relief.
Our guinea pig Rodney died, we only had him 7 months. Lady had him before us didn't look after him. We gave him everything he needed, vet didn't know what was wrong with him!
Ask him to make sure he is keeping the cage clean enough it looks like you are removing poop from the pigis feet they don't get like that unless they are walking in it!!!!!
Have never had these animals but I can’t help to wonder , it seems like these animals don’t groom themselves? Is it a normal part of grooming needed from the owner ?

Kudos to Jefferson for not biting off anyone’s hand whilst being violated.

He felt so safe he stayed calm. Amazing.
I swear people should have to get a licence to adopt these little guys
Edit: I can’t get over the little lips

Jefferson has a huge part of our hearts. This was a while ago and tomorrow you will see more of his story
I was just about to say that! (He’s so chill!) What a sweetie pie!
Fritzchen is such a fun name! Love it!
I think it’s because he knows that they’re making him feel better
Jefferson looks like my first guinea pig. It became 12 years due to excellent care🥰
Jefferson is being such a good boy. He's really brave and cute. I hope everything works out for him.
Jefferson is more than happy to have that impaction cleared out. He feels MUCH better now, thanks!
Love the medical term of "gunge stuck to the toe" lol. I'm so glad you're showing people how to care for piggies.
He has such an adorable face and facial expressions! I love this little guy

Geesh! And here I was thinking only birds get bumblefoot!

Sadly Jefferson passed away about 6 months later, He was over 8 years of age at that stage and they thought it was a stoke. He was adorable.
@@GuineaPigStuff 😢
Such a sweet baby
Jefferson is very grateful but a bit unsure about his privates being filmed.
Yes he is.
Never had a guinea pig. Cannot get over how docile he is while you are doing something painful to him. Not squirming or trying to bite.
Hi Susan know he is off his feet which is more painful and if you watch the start, he was unable to move when he arrived, but after was able to walk about - so it gave him great relief.
Amazing job on Jefferson Lyn. Any update yet?
Very educational! I hope in future videos you can get the camera in a bit closer.
Hi thanks we will try
Jefferson is wondering if you’re going to buy him dinner after this.
Our guinea pig Rodney died, we only had him 7 months. Lady had him before us didn't look after him. We gave him everything he needed, vet didn't know what was wrong with him!
Der Kleine findet die Behandlung gut, denn er hält so still!😮😅
Ask him to make sure he is keeping the cage clean enough it looks like you are removing poop from the pigis feet they don't get like that unless they are walking in it!!!!!
He is such a sweety!
Great wound care, but maybe good idea to change gloves first after cleaning his bottom or you could be rubbing poop germs into his foot wound.
We do that, but with the video there is a lot of cutting out, maybe we should have left that bit in.
Are these impactions due to neglect? Maybe he needs a mommy or daddy to keep up his care before it gets so bad? Is there a follow up video?
Your amount of knowledge always amazes me. Are you a vet?
Thanks Michelle no I am not. Just many years of dedication in this area.
Poor little boy! I have seen a chicken be treated for bumblefoot but never a piggie.
Yes it is very sad.
Omg he is sooooo cute
With that nail that has hard poo on it, use a little olive to help soften it for removal.
A good reason why these are not super pets for small children like people claim they need so much care!
Yes it is constant
Hello. From edbonjovi. Miss. U. Love u. What. U do. Love edbonjovi aka leak master plumbing
Even their diseases sound cute. 😂
Yes it is cute name I do agree.
Sweet boy
Do they make a cone of shame for piggies?
Have never had these animals but I can’t help to wonder , it seems like these animals don’t groom themselves? Is it a normal part of grooming needed from the owner ?
They do groom themselves, but when illness or injury impedes this as well as dirty conditions. then they can't help but need our assistance in rescue
Oh gosh I thought I want one
Please zoom in! Some sections of the video were difficult to see what because it was too far away. Thank you!!
What a sweet boy. Will be interested in a follow up and seeing his new buddy! I thought the foot was abscessed, and wondered why not drain it?
No this is not something to drain but is controlled by antibiotics and regularly treatment. There is more to come
