  • Our learners conducted an experiment to compare the processes of simple distillation and sublimation. They began by setting up a simple distillation apparatus, consisting of a boiling flask, a condenser, and a receiving flask, to separate a mixture of liquids with different boiling points. This process allowed them to collect and analyze the distillate, noting the effectiveness of the separation.
Simultaneously, they explored sublimation by heating a solid mixture that underwent direct transition from solid to vapor without passing through the liquid phase. This method enabled them to isolate and collect the sublimate, examining its purity and properties compared to the original solid mixture.
Through these experiments, our learners gained practical insights into the principles of both distillation and sublimation, reinforcing their understanding of separation techniques and their applications in various scientific and industrial processes
