Denser Than You Think - Science Experiment
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лис 2015
- Simple density science experiment that you can try at home to see how liquids and objects with different densities behave. Using three fluids (syrup, water and oil) we can see they clearly have different densities, and form clear layers. By dropping items with different densities into the glass, we can see which fluids are denser than them.

Who is here in 2024?
Me
Hi 😂😂 I'm just checking a experiment for my English lesson 🇩🇿
@@Dua_dazzling same but science lesson
I grew up to this

Great experiment. A perfect combination of the two experiments I used earlier this week (objects that float or sink in water, and mixing oil and water!
Awesome! I already did this expirement at school, but you did it so much better...
Wow, this reminds me of the childrens science books I got when I was just a kid, I always loved looking at the pictures of different colored liquids of different densities. It was one of the first "scientific" experiments I did as a child, I think the second one was the weighted pen cap with an air bubble inside in a 2 liter bottle full of water that would float or sink depending on how hard you squeezed. Good memories. Also reminds me of the "I Spy" books too, I got one of those with that science book...
Your videos are may be the most useful videos on youtube you deserve more subscribers man keep up the good work!
This is one of the cooles UA-cam Channels I know!
haha Du auch hier^^
+Valentin Möller I agree! :D
*coolest
+Nemo tod It still is
+Nemo tod Around when did it go wrong?
What an elegant setup to teach specific gravity; thank you for this! :)
You leave on 2 table lamps with 2 different kind of bulbs. You wait to see which type of bulb burns out first after a while and how long it takes for each one.
Would you consider this example to be a scientific experiment ? -:.
Omg I finally found this channel after 10 years I loved your Channel as a child
Dave, I'd just like to say something. Today at school we were doing science and everyone were bored so they were colouring in their timetables. As soon as our teacher turned this video on, everybody looked up from their timetables or books and that just shows how great your videos are!
I have done that before
ok?
No it just shows how boring your class was (Idc if I’m replying to a comment 5 years ago)
@@hon3yt34 No, it just shows how your dumbass immature 6 year old mind likes replying to comments made 5 years ago.
Dave your videos are awesome🎉
I remember doing an experiment like that in Middle school. Only difference was we didn't drop tiny objects in, but, it was still a cool experiment.
"Oil can fly on water"
Me waiting to be rain, also in oil form lol
Troll physics
Works great! Looks even better if you increase the amounts and use a tall 500ml glass measuring cylinder for a classroom demo.
For my 4th grade science fair, I had to do an experiment on density and used this as a guide video! Thx Dave ( :

finally a brilliant one again
I've tried the first experiment before. It's so awesome!!
I love this :D Thank you for sharing! :D

Helpful and logical experiment. Thanks for sharing
I actually did this for a science exposition and got a good grade with it, thank you Dave 🙏
COOL! That was awesome! I wish my Science Teacher would have shown us stuff like that. :)
For mine, it did
Schools are so over rated and liars even history is not real
Stay safe, have fun and as always... Thanks for watching!
This is the best UA-cam Channel ever.

It's a really yay cooollll project for our school times and a really satisfying project and I had really fun doing it for my project of holiday homework and everyone should do it because it's really fun.
Wow thank you! This will help me on my science project!

+TheSonicFan4 Exactly what I thought.
+TheSonicFan4 - Ah yeah, thanks!
+DaveHax No prob! :)
Wow, really? What kind of loser goes through video descriptions to point out errors. It takes a special kind of person to do that. Dave is to nice to say it so I'll say it. "Your" a jackass.
+Morgan Chase It was in the title, which he changed. Looks like YOU'RE the jackass who went through the description to point out an error ;)
So satisfying to watch
Thisbis so cool dude it kinda makes me remember my old school days
Exactly that we did in school today😂☺️
Love it
Straight to the point and easy to understand
My science teacher made me watch this, I thought it would be boring but it was actually cool
Hmm........ Interesting!! KEEP UP THE WORK!!!
Ah yes, my favorite juice.
Great experiment, but really super troubled about this "then" thing. Comparative is "than", "then" is to order in time.
So cool! I love this
your video's are always amazing.👍

Sorry for being such a science noob, but it will eventually separate after a while, right? If so, is there anyway I can contain it for longer and keep it as a nice little ornament? Thanks!
sorry for the reply function foolish

We did it but without syrup
Corysh Prejola what did u use instead? Honey?

Why they don't mix?
Because the liquids have weight
Density, not weight.
🖒
because liquids have different densities,if u take water and oil they don't mix cause they are of different densities as oil is less denser then water it will be above the water, similarly in the case of honey and water honey is denser then water so it will be below the liquid
Salman Qasim did u even hear the video? They don't mix because one is denser than another bru
my teacher showed this in my sci class and this just shows how educational and cool your vids are
