Im loving this. Hope when this releases you make a series out of this. It's like Hades, skul, isaac and dungreed combined there are other mechanics combined from other games. Its like the good things from other games mashed together but is still able to have a unique identity for itself.

yeah I hope the developers stay working steady on this and keep the updates relatively regular. They have a winning recipe here and proof of concept. I hope they can drop some more levels and bosses to keep interest within a few months. If the devs can show they are constantly working on it and listening to the community they could have a really solid game.

This game looks fantastic, and I can't wait for the full version! I feel like the last weapon won't truly be the last weapon? Like the tree might grow into more branches either for levels beyond the third area or for DLC if the devs wanted to do that. If it IS truly the last weapon, I'd wager it's likely a shield or a chain. Shield, because it just makes sense- Block attacks while moving slowly and bash-dashing through enemies. The Special could be the shield being thrown and bouncing between a few enemies, while the overload could be the player surfing on the shield a la BotW and ramming into enemies, or their basic attack becomes the special for a short time. A Chain or Flail could also fit nicely, having a weapon with range between the sword/hammer and the gun/bow. The Special could be one large whip with roughly the range of, if not a bit longer than the sword's dash slash, and the overload could be multiple chains being flung out from the player character, a screen nuke like the hammer, and any enemies not instantly killed by the attack could be drawn in for a finishing blow. Of course the grapple effect would be null on bosses.
When you swap off of the gauntlets it makes your next 3 attacks crits so something with be schmeaty hits like the hammer would pair very well with it. Plus that applies to the special attacks too
I bought this game in search of a fun new rougelike and when I saw the trailer the first thing that came to my mind what skull/deadcell baby lol also great tip for the wolf boss or any boss you can parry their rush attacks and stun them!
That dash attack on the second boss reminds me of Conjunctivius in Dead Cells. Hard to deal with at first but simple enough to parry once you've figured it out.

Honestly those gauntlets looked absolutely rad, and they did a TON of damage by the end of it. They just hit super hard and fast. If I was running that second run I'd probably want the Gauntlets, Spear, and Revolver. Spear is good for when you want to be safer due to the range, and the dashes are good mobility. Revolver gives you a long ranged option, and its swap effect probably works great with the Gauntlets, and the Gauntlets are your big damage boiz, just hitting like numerous aggressive trains. Adding the bleed or follow up shot from the other weapon swaps would just be totally bonkers when you pop Overload.
Cube of meat is literally an item from Isaac. The name, the sprite, the effect, it's a direct copy lmao This game looks really fun, I'm interested what route the devs decide to take with it for the future
Based on my Rougelike experience its either a spell book(ranged) or a Whip thats going to be a meele that has a fair range and they might become a bit suprising and make it a shield that 100% blocks an attack and stuns the enemy attacker
The thing I like the most out of rogues are the multitudes of weapons, well in Skul's case its skulls. So I wish they would put more weapons in maybe even add an upgrade tree for them where its look would change similar to Hades. Also the hood really reminds me of Wizards of Legend well at least only the Hope Outfit.
So far it seems like a game with really good combat. It just looks like it feels satisfying like skul and hollow knight. The bosses are cool so far and difficult enough. However, there's something about the game that i feel its lacking but i cant put a finger on it. Hope it gets way better once the full version is out and im very hopeful since it looks great already as is. Great video beelz 👍

Heyyy beeeeeelz the fist overdrive is a a meaning of getting away with the wolf leap attacks cause it has i frames remember ? Or it was it's special ? Just thought about it man good ideia no ? You need to find a way of getting more meter like an attack that you can block twice in row or three times, even make more enemies attack you at once huh?
The gloves skill has i-frames yes. With practice you can avoid the wolf jump by moving just before he leaps and then dash as he does. The wolf passes through you and you'll both land next to each other. Meter generation is through hitting, parrying and wep swapping. I tried parrying a few things on the wolf but quickly figured it's easier to play it safe. Based on the second boss being parried I feel like the wolf jump can be parried, I just didn't give it a chance.
Something watching this I noticed. The gauntlets swap gives you 3 free crits and when it was active and you sword dashed all of those crit. Then your next attack still crit, so my thought is it might work per attack and not damaging instance. I'm not sure if it was a luck thing that it lined up that way, but hammer nuke being a guaranteed crit on everything would be disgustingly beautiful. Also was wondering about the spear dash. I heard you say eight directional, do you have to be on the ground to move upward? or can you just fly around like a dart on steroids? And any game that gives me the option of the fists as a weapon is gonna be fun
I am a developer. All totems have a basic stat effect. Red totem is attack power. Green totem is health. Blue totem is the amount of special attack gauge acquired. I'm sorry I'm not good at English. I hope the translator conveys my words well.
Haven't tested it, but would be cool if it did. I'm more curious about the item turning things into bubbles along with the bows skill that rains arrows. Could I make bubble rain?
I could see a power range weapon... Range because everything is a melee except for the handgun and the bow. the bow has average damage and speed. handgun has rapid fire and light damage... so something that has a slow firing rate and high impact/damage. A rocket Launcher or a 'heavy' crossbow would be perfect. Slow because you "have to reload after each shot" and each would be hard hitting and do some knockback. Maybe even a shotgun where the closer something is... the more damage and knockback it has.

I can't actually do any Vamp Surv stuff atm due to copyright getting in the way. I've had the same issue with the VODs where the Stage 2 music is being claimed. I could cut the music entirely, but I'm more or less done with it now. I worry that the runs would be a bit samey and the audience wouldn't care
With some good love and care, for sure. Skul was very bare bones (hehe) when it was in Early Access. It didn't have inscriptions, no upgrades for skulls and only 3 areas and 3 bosses. A lot of items weren't added and NPCs weren't there during runs and the only 3 at the castle were witch, fox and ogre. The game has come a long way, similar to games like Dead Cells and Isaac. This could do very well with the right support and care.
Every time a new UI was shown I couldn't help but ask "is this allowed?". The fonts, the layout, the art, it feels very much like it was ripped from Skul. If I saw screenshots of this game I would've assumed it was a sneak peek at Skul 2, a photoshop edit by a super talented fan, or a sprite mod for Skul. Not that I'm complaining since the original has some of the sleekest UI in the rogueli*e genre, I just hope they have permission to essentially copy their design.
It reminds me more of Dead Cells than anything else. Even the enemies--scorpion burrowing up to try to stab you is straight up Dead Cells sewer. Do you play Dead Cells? I know it's an old game, but it's also my favorite game so I'd watch it :D

Yeah, I finished Vamp Survivor on Twitch over 2 days. You can see me playing it over at the VoD channel :D I worry it would be too hard to make the videos too compelling unless I changed up how it's presented. I could chill it down and make it a relaxed event, because currently making good builds and ''winning'' isn't really an issue. I fear the early game would be too slow to hold peoples attention.
