You have no idea about a 300 series in comparison to the 79 series. Chalk & cheese! 79 is an expensive car for what you get - old technology.

That is also a myth we forgot. The price is because of the V8 motor, the 200 series was the same v8 but with all the bells and whistles, It cost an extra 20k.
For Toyota's to put that stuff in the 79 it also would have been 100k instead of 80k. If you want a v8 it's going to cost more then a 4 cylinder. Sorry I disagree I think it was fair price. Can you name 1 other v8 Ute that was under 80k new?

Payload in your 300? GCM in your 300? Ahh ok. People are selling their 300 due to lack of rear leg room.
Hahahahahaha, the clearance is better than the other vehicles, what the MG. Ground clearance is measured at the lowest point and those spring hangers are nearly on the ground and you said yourself, why did Toyota do this, just because they could.
OMG, they aren't noisy, yes they are and those seats are terrible, been in friends 79's and compared to my car, they are terrible, period. Some more video.

All buit for different things but all used for the same goals, Touring, 4wding and towing. That's what I was comparing them on.

@@Off.Track4x4 Hey Dylan, never said you weren't being honest (I'm pretty sure you're 100% honest). What I was saying is you are bias, each and everyone of us has bias as a result of life experiences. If you owned a 300 LC or a Ranger, I'm sure you would have told a different tale.
On another note; Cruising at 95kph to reign in your fuel consumption is (IMO) seriously unacceptable on highways.

Myth - the paint on the sandy tupe (LC colour) is super thin or prone to damage easily?
Oooo this is a very interesting one!! I have heard from alot of people including Lloyd my ex cohost from yarns that the paint is thin. The thin paint is meant to be the gel coat onto of any of the coloured ones. Ours is now 11 years old and does not get cleaned regularly, no fading, no flaking and no pealing. Still looks shiny when we clean it. We don't have an issue with it. How ever I know first hand the white ones are very bad on paint.

I noticed you only compared a 79 with a tune but not for the other two, the 300 tuned is 267kw and torque 820nm you should put actual the tune for all vehicles. And also where the figures are from back wheel of flywheel. Apples with apples.
This was a hard listen must admit all i got out of it was my 79 this my 79 that since yours is a olf 79 were the old 200 series funny i see more 200 on the road with big vans then 79s
OMG, first off I haven't as yet watch all of this video, only the part about the rear track. First off, you will be totally basis to the 79 and to say Toyota had no choice in the matter, crap. There may have been another car maker who did this, extremely rare, but Toyota is one of the biggest if not the biggest, just widen the rear track, not hard in the production stage and way less costly than the aftermarket cost, this is a cop out.
I know friends who do lots of beach driving and the track difference is a bloody pain and they fix it after paying a stupid price for these cars in the first place.
Will now watch some more, I know where this is going, I think.

Toyota would have to make a new rear axle to fix the track. The fact they have not done that in what 20 plus years should show you its not an issue.
In sand as I said it only make a difference if you are making fresh tracks. Good luck find a beach in Australia at the moment with no wheel tracks on it.

Agree, the turning circle, terrible. fuel consumption, overall it's terrible, where do most people do there driving, around town and towing, so it's terrible and you are limited to around 90kph.
The clearance is 284mm, no way it's 284 under the spring hangers. Your LC has bigger tyres, not standard. Power, the 79 is terrible, you need to spend even more money on a tune crazy. Without a tune, terrible tow vehicle and a 5 speed manual for towing is terrible and general driving.
Agree with all the bad, but the back seat is terrible. Sorry for the rant and I will say, it's your money, you buy a car that suits your needs and it doesn't matter what others say.

Hahahah 😂 someone doesn't like 70 series. Can I ask have you ever owned one? Or you just don't like the idea of them. As I have owned 2 and a 2 rangers and an NP300 Navara. The 70 is far better then any other for towing and 4wding
In you’re power specs you can’t show standard power for the 300 and Ranger and then state the 79 with a tune.
