So, so happy I found this channel. Have always had a hard time trying to figure out how to make Filipino/Asian dishes vegan since a lot of our food is protein-heavy..! I’m glad there’s a space online where I can grab inspiration from :) Thank you!!
I tried this recipe and it turned out great. I used mild white miso instead of the two types. And I also used the khombu after making the soup base to make khombu tsukidani and used as topping by thinly slicing and seasoning it.
Absolutely amazing! Can't find any words, except Yuuuuuuuuuuummmmmm 😊 Just try it yourself, it's easy to make, healthy, tasty, perfect for your diet, etc. And just in case you didn't understand how fantastic this ramen tastes, I couldn't enjoy it without repeating Yuuuuuum Yum Yummmmmm multiple times 😉
YUM! One of my fav slurpy breakfasts! 🍜😊 Enoki mushroom are so delicate and pretty! I usually drizzle some rice wine vinegar and tamari seasoning on top.
Very simple, quick and tasty! In the future I will half the salt though. Maybe it was a little too much for me because my vegetable broth was salted already🤔
I was looking for this recipe! Wanted to enjoy my enoki mushrooms in a heartwarming bowl of ramen 😊 I used them in another recipe of your cookbook (Bold miso ramen) and they worked out perfectly 👍
First here!! Instant fan from the first video i saw! Can i ask why do you put the sesame oil twice? Or thats a different sesame oil? Thanks and good luck!
Hey welcome 🙌🏻 great question! Yup it’s the same sesame oil! I suppose technically it’s the same as if you added the total amount of sesame oil in the tare (in the serving bowl) but dividing the sesame oil for the tare and some for the end is for a little of visual interest 😬
Can't find my comment so im adding to it lol.the siving part helped me as i was going to try and mix it into the bowl and ment to say I never make these kind of soups so im excited about it.
New fan and subscriber here 🙋🏽♂️, I’m not a vegan but I am going to try some of these recipes out. Your content is beautifully shot and edited, but there is one thing missing...I wanna see you EAT the food! 😭
Welcome and LAY HO MA (how’s it going in Cantonese!). Glad to have you here 😊 thank you for the kind words and lollll you’re right I really should be eating the food afterwards shouldn’t I 🤦🏻♂️
Can one use fish sauce or fish stock instead of kombu? I follow your recipes a lot but am not strictly vegan. Kombu is inaccessible in my area because of quarantine.
All good ☺️ everyone’s welcome here 🥳 actually Japanese brands have dashi packets that you can probably order online. Some are vegetarian and some are made with fish
It looks so good and the video is so well made. I just gave it a try and tbh it was a little dissapointing. I've never before had any kind of ramen, but after eating this, unfortunately I don't get the hype. It wasn't awful!! But considering all the different ingredients that went in, it tatsted nearly the same as my regular noodle soup, made from just noodles and veggie stock. The video was very nice to watch, though. 😅
It's insanely easy for humans to get enough protein for optimal health without desperately planning it into every meal and snack. Most people consume too much protein.
I second this. As much as I love the video and recipe, this step did bother me 😅 The nutrients are damaged when boiling miso. Add it once you've turned of the heat and tada - healthy miso broth 😊
LAY HO MA everyone! Does this recipe make you soup-er excited 😜??
LOL Will 🤣🤣🤣 You forgot to mention soup-er easy to make ..... have a soup-er day everyone!!
Ok... I'll stop now LOL

This miso soup is divine and rich in flavour while being subtle at the same time. It tastes like home. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
I cant stop making this dish😂 Ever since making it once I keep craving it in the middle of the day.

Like your video. Do you have nutrition information for this recipe? For example, how much sodium and how much protein etc.

Hello :) Is it okay taste-wise to use Nori instead of Kombu when Kombu is not available?

Thank you for another helpful video!! How do I find your vegan boiled egg shown here in intro but not in the content of this vid?? Love and blessings.
Yeah!! That was a previous episode you can watch it here ua-cam.com/video/VG3Mo2oKILI/v-deo.html
I see alot of ramen noodle packages out there - which one(s) are more preferable for this recipe?

@@YEUNGMANCOOKING oh yeah ... @cheaplazyvegan also loves noodles like you lol
Hi! Can I use only white miso? It’s all I have on hand. Thanks!
I did it with confidence and failed miserably 😂😂😂 didn’t have half of the ingredients though. Love your videos
Hi Wil, I made several of your recipes. So good! I'm a long time vegan so, I'm just wondering the reason(s) you are vegan?
Thank you💖
You’re welcome 😬
Hola, Any chance of you preparing Hiyashi chuka noodles?
Yummy!

If making this to serve two people would I just double everything? Or would there be some ingredients that wouldn't scale up the same way?
I'm going to buy his book. He also has Sonic the Hedgehog hair.
Haha I suppose it’s similar 😅
2 completely unrelated but true facts

Is it possible to make the ramen without the kombu?
Wish I discovered your channel earlier but better late than never I guess! All of the ramen looks so good T_T
Always!! Glad you’re here 👨🏻🍳❤️🍜
I want to cook now but I don't have Kombu huhu
Does this recipe serve two people? Thanks.
This recipe is for one. You’ll have to multiply everything by 2 😊
Do you cook the enoki for a min prior or simply add them as is?
No real rule - in this episode they are raw, however you definitely can either boil them or mmmm maybe even pan sear them 👨🏻🍳🙌🏻
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING thank you! ^_^
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING sorry enoki or raw mushroom should not be eaten raw because t hey contain some poisons
Enoki’s??? 😢😢😢
@@HoaHoang-it8sf Where did you get that information? Every source I can find says they can be eaten either raw or cooked.
Where can I find kombu ? I tried a few asian grocery stores in Toronto but couldn't find it. Does it have a different name? Thank you!
It’s a pretty common product at Asian grocery stores though it may not have English packaging... it looks like flat thick seaweed 😬
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING I'll check again. I think I saw thick pieces of seaweed, but it had a different name (can't remember now). It is sold dry, correct?
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING just remembered. I saw kelp. Is it the same? Thanks again!
Yup it’s dry, sometimes actually some companies call it kelp!
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thanks a lot! It looked like dried kombu, but the name confused me .

I recently went vegan and really miss ramen, I’ve looked for a good recipe and this looks simple yet fantastic!
🙌🏻
Wil, are you vegan or is it just your speciality to cook vegan dishes? Love your recipes. Wish some of them had more protein tho.
Thanks so much 🙌🏻 lol that’s a short question long answer type thing for me 😅 I will def add some more high protein recipes to my to-film list 👨🏻🍳
It's insanely easy for humans to get enough protein for optimal health without desperately planning it into every meal and snack. Most people consume too much protein.
@@swish043 No but if you look at his recipes most don't have that much protein.
@@swish043 I train a lot. Desperately plan it into every meal? Some people need it unlike you.
Can you do Basic knife skills please
I’ve been meaning to film an episode on that 🔪 🙌🏻👨🏻🍳
Can i buy this book in india?
Pllease do not boil your miso. Always add at the end.

👨🏻🍳❤️🍜🎥🔪🙌🏻
I tried it. Didnt taste like much.
Also a Bad recipe bc there is no word about how long to cook the broth or when to lower the heat.
Though it looks so delicious, Enoki should not be eaten raw you could get sick 🤒
what kind of noodles isit ?
These ones were made fresh (we have a previous episode on how to make them), however, any ramen noodles will work 🙌🏻👨🏻🍳
Fuiyoh
It's a good recipe but where's the spiciness lol
Too much sesame oil for my taste, but wonderful otherwise.
You're not supposed to boil Miso 😅
Why is there an egg on the front of a vegan cookbook? I'll look elsewhere thanks
It is our signature vegan ramen cashew egg 🙌🏻🥳
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING I take it all back. I will be all over your channel now! Apologies for my tone, it just looks so convincingly egg-like!
