Thanks Sam, that's a brilliant reminder of what a truly special talent he was. I always loved the fact that he didn't just rely on his talent either, he was a real grafter too and gave everything on the pitch.
That kick against Argentina almost ruined him. But that performance and freekick against Greece proved how much he cared about playing for England, he literally dragged us through that game, I will never have a bad word to say about him because he tried his heart out for England. We need more players like him.
100% worldclass! He is the reason I started supporting United as a kid. (Edit) In today's game he'd be a box-to-box CM I reckon or maybe a 10. He was tailor made for these positions.
I would think left wing would be amazing too. The way he bends the ball. You know the way Ashley Young cuts in and curls it in at the peak of his career. Now imagine that with a technically superior David Beckham. Mouth watering
For me Beckham is football. He is the reason, why I stared watching football, and I am a fan of Man utd. Most people don't understand what type of inhuman ability do they need to give such long high pass.
I support United today because at 8 years old (in 2002) I saw a guy in a red top take a set piece. I begged my dad for that shirt and he (not knowing the difference) got me a number 10 Bergkamp shirt (Yes, I was that close to supporting Arsenal.) Thank God I remembered the guy I saw was number 7. He soon left United but his replacement wasn't bad at all. GGMU
Different for me. I'm an Arsenal fan, not from UK, but Beckham was one of my first football idols as a kid. Used to practise free kicks all the time because of him😅
Souness is definitely jealous and to top it off - he would be seen as a mid-level player 1st division player if his younger prime self was playing now.
@@timvella1817 You overslept on the day they gave out critical thinking, didn't you? Your posit is irrelevant. Him winning more during different era with his limited self does not mean he's a better footballer.
People forget how massive he was. Just watch reels of the Japan WC and when he hit LA. It was absurd how big he was globally…and he backed it up every week for 20 years. Without question, to me, the greatest English export of all time, both in sports and as an ambassador.
People seem to forget that Sir Alex Ferguson also uses him a central midfielder when needed. His work rate was very good. His crossing of the ball was brilliant. His freekick ability was deadly. He had a winning mentality. He drove the ball forward fearlessly. What a player! 🙂
SAF told everyone that he wasn't world class, and many people have an inability to think for themselves. Beckham, Rooney, and Keane were all world-class, and Ferguson knows this very well.
Great video, Sam, on the greatest player ever to put the United shirt on. Sir Alex, in his autobiography, called David "the finest striker of a football ever" and I think he knows a bit more than Graeme Souness.
I'm a United fan and must confess that I too had my doubts about Becks. Then I took my first trip to the theatre of dreams and was blown away. The first thing I noticed is that you don't get to see how hard Becks works off the ball, when you watching the game on tv. The other thing I noticed is how often he picks up the ball deep in his own half after tirelessly tracking back. Then of course that right foot. Lord have mercy. I saw him hit countless crosses from almost right full back position to the left wing, hitting Giggs with pinpoint accuracy. I was converted! My apologies to Becks for doubting him.
Great video, I grew up watching Becks, his technique was flawless. Every full back in the world knew what he was going to do, but still failed to stop those pinpoint crosses. World Class all day.
His legacy is on the field but also off it. He was the first player to fully explore and utilize off-field popularity to create a "brand" that was David Beckham. He laid the foundation for what modern players attempt and want to achieve from a business perspective, as well as playing.
Brilliant video, timely reminder. I'm from Australia and Beck's was the reason I started following the football as a kid in the 90s. He was the best in the world at more than one category.. absolutely world class
I supported United because of Beckham, was gifted a poster of him when I was a child and I was so happy to hang it on my wall, besides all wallpaper background in my computers as well. A real childhood hero for me.
Fabulous videos again Sam, great production, slick editing, and score, all round, wonderful vid, for our younger fans to see just how to put in a shift, watch Becks in the 99 Final, in fact, that whole season he was a Colossus for Man Utd, and should get his name sung, at OT
I can remember he stayed in Cornwall in 2012 before his role in the London Olympics. Here his generosity was off the scale to get the accommodation he wanted and it was shockingly good. Souness you were a hard sometimes vicious player but surely you recognise Beckham is a good human being
David Beckham was one of the best footballers I've ever witnessed, his passing/crossing/dead ball ability was unmatched. Beckham is an absolute perfectionist his clothes, his looks and the way the ball left his foot, it just moved different in the air to anything i've ever seen before, it's like the ball knew he'd kicked it and took flight with majestic grace and rotation. It would hang in the air what felt like forever floating in slow motion before landing with pin point accuracy on the end of a forwards boot or caressing the inside back of the net completeing the picture of what he saw in his mind, he was incredible and very much missed by us United fans.
Beckham could play central midfield, attacking midfield, winger, and wing-back exceptionally well. His combination of passing ability, shooting, work rate, versatility, vision and confidence were a match for any England player today
So many players from that team were underrated, even denigrated. David Beckham, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt were three incredibly dependable players without whom Man Utd would never have become the club that they did. Sir Alex had a knack of rooting out young talent and blending it with a handful of senior players. The fact that Jonny Evans is one of the standout players at United today, still turning in good performances in a team devoid of ideas and confidence, shows just what was lost with the failure to rebuild in the wake of so many winners and leaders leaving the club.
Main thing I remember about Beckham was, when he played for England, they had a goal threat, and when he was unavailable, even with such quality players in midfield as Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes, they didn't.
They're cancelling Ryan Joseph Giggs. He'll be forgotten way sooner than Becks. What a shame. The best Premier League player ever has been vilified due to things outside football.
This coming from a United fan. But I'm sorry. Just because Ryan Giggs is the most decorated PL player, doesn't imply he was the best in PL. There have been better PL players than Giggs. United ones as well as ones from other clubs. And keeping aside his personal life, Ryan Giggs is not even in the top 5 best United players. Top 10 maybe, but never top 5. Charlton, Best, Rooney, Cantona, Law are all above Giggs. Stop glorifying him just because he's done it all and won it all. And lastly, yes. The sooner we forget him, the better.
@@Nadstergram First of all, I don't think you understand the big difference between First Division and Premier League. Just give you a hint, it's not just the names. Maybe better educate yourself first before yapping nonsense. It does not look smart. For the sake of your argument, let's omit Charlton, Best, Law because they never played in PL. The remaining players you mentioned above are only Rooney and Cantona. You already mentioned that Giggs is the most decorated player in United. I'm glad you recognize that because that's a very strong case to claim that he's the best. So, tell me, why in your opinion, Cantona and Rooney were better for United in PL? Cantona gave United 5 seasons and 4 PL titles. Rooney gave United 13 seasons and 5 PL titles. Giggs is the most decorated, the highest appearances, the longest serving, and you said the sooner we forget him, the better? You claim you're a United fan? ROFL. You joined UA-cam in 2009 and judging from your profile picture, I bet you forget showering, let alone a player who made United a PL behemoth LOL. Without Giggs, you would not have supported United at first place. SAF said Giggs were among the 4 world class players he has ever managed. Who the fck are you? Just a random online d**chebag.
David Beckham without doubt was a world class player. Ryan Giggs seemed once to be destined for greatness. But IMHO he was a very good player rather than a great one. For many seasons, perhaps as many as ten, Giggs was content to be a bit part player on the biggest football stages. Beckham would never have been content with such a peripheral role. This alone puts Beckham in the pantheon of the greatest players of all time. I have been a United fan for forty years. Frankly I resent the denial of iconic status that Beckham has among many United fans. Please keep making and uploading these wonderful and statistically revealing videos!
He was also a really good defender , especially when losing possession , he could hold up players (not jumping in and fouling) whilst the team regained its shape and position. Especially under Ericson.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this. But whenever he appears on a football pitch well after retiring from professional football he is usually by far the best and fittest person in the game.
Spurs fan here, UNQUESTIONABLY World Class as a player, regardless of the £, hype, and extras he brings. Down to earth and for a long while transcended football in England. I wish we saw more of peak Ginola in the EPL as a comparison. His Netflix show was awesome.
Sam, you have put your heart and soul into this and I my friend applaud your work AMAZING as always!!!!! Perhaps a mini doc on strikers past and present from early 90’s to now??
Brilliant piece! You work is great and appreciate what you do. It's balanced and sell thought. I watch many other channels and also like what they do but this kinda of reflection is above and beyond. Cheers!
That video definitely lived up to the hype! Amazing job, Sam and everyone. As for Becks - nothing more to add, brilliant player and character. Love him to bits!
Remember when souness said something like 'lay your medals on the table'to pogba? Well Graham why don't you as becks the same question. Typical bin dipper
I love this. He was the reason I supported United since I was a kid until now. His looks and star factor probably overshadowed his skills but oh how i miss watching him crossing the ball right to the striker’s head!
As a West Ham fan, I love David Beckham for his contribution to our England and football in general. He has definitely earned the "legend" title for me.
Brilliant video once again Sam ! Well done for providing us with the FACTS and it made me appreciate even more just what a great player David Beckham was. Thanks !
Brilliant video, David Beckham is without a doubt your favourite players favourite player! The way he handled his business on the pitch and the way he has set his life up off it, too
you could have talked so much more about his time at Madrid, being shunned from the team after signing his mls contract but working his way back onto the first team anyway and leading la Liga in assists as Madrid won the title; or playing in MLS and being able to walk onto the Milan side and play in the champions league as a contributor, or being able to go to PSG in the twilight of his career as they were starting their era of dominance and be a weekly starter for them. There is a very short list of players in history that could do that in the history of world football.
Easily world class and one of the most elegant footballers I have ever watched. Love him, even as a Liverpool fan I don't think the trophies he won are relevant in this conversation. His individual performances are what qualify him. He was often peerless
That was a proper beast mode video. I knew all of this already, and have always loved becks and thought he was world class, but even I got behind him all that little bit more after watching this lol. Very good video indeed mate, and your voice made me feel like I was watching a guy Ritchie movie or something haha. Very good.
David Beckham is and always will be one of my favourite UTD players, he often get overlooked in "best ever teams", but he would be in my best ever UTD 11 every day of the week, he rarely had a bad game and had the ability to win a game almost single handedly. Simply put he WAS world class.
David Beckham gave me the dream of becoming a footballer and also to play the game itself. He is legendary. The crosses and free kicks he used to do were second to none. Pin Point Pass! And Fifa accuracy!
Bravo!!!! Bravo!!!! Bravo!!! I hope the people watch this to realize how great Becks was when he played especially current ManU players who think they are great. Becks is truly one of the greats!!! Great Bio Video @UnitedPeoplesTV!!!
You could put a marker in my local village or Nigeria and Beckham would've hit the exact spot with a football. Everybody was trying to take free kicks like him. Still sad that he left for Madrid 😢
Good pro , great right foot , terrific work rate ,the other hype about his looks, life style ,fashion sense and his wife's manufactured celeb status ,did detract from his skill as a player ,and did not please Alec Ferguson .
I am Irish and I think Beckham is world class and a true gentleman. I am not biased and have some evil motives like an "English fan" might. I see from the outside and What I see is a man who made adversity into an advantage. He is conventional in his style of play but thats what made him great, a God given Talent to whip in a cross or free kick with such precision. Beckham wasn't flashy but he was so effective. You don't have to be "flashy" to be world class, since when is tricks and skills only reason you are world class, look at CR7 now- With that logic Rooney, Andy Cole or Yorke are not world class. Beckham was a great footballer, an icon and he's an even better man. He may be rich as hell and has now become a little isolated from the average Joe but he's still an inspiration. Give Becks the respect he deserves, He was CR7 before CR7 i.e., An Icon. I tell you who isn't World class, a dinosaur like Graeme Souness who spent his entire football career, kicking people's shins and ending careers. Clowns will continue to Clown but Beckham always has the last laugh, icon always will be relevant. Souness has hot takes to stay relevant like a clown.
I'm not gloating caffeine. But I saw Beckham in real time at Old Trafford four times. I also saw him play for United against Liverpool at Anfield in December 1995. United were not always great. But Beckham had an aura about him. Regardless of how badly his own team played, or how good the opposition were, he had his own standards. By this I mean his work rate and ability to control the ball and his refusal to be intimidated by any opponent. Frankly these standards never dipped. In 2007, while at Real Madrid, after being refused a contract extension David signed a contract with LA Galaxy. He was to join this American club on a Bosman deal at the end of that season. Fabio Capello, the then Real manager, declared rather pompously that while he wished David future success he would not pick him for the remainder of the season. If memory serves this was with around ten La Liga matches still to be played. But the uber professional Beckham continued to train on his own with a zeal that even the fusty old Italian could appreciate. Capello swallowed his pride and began to pick David once more. As a result Real Madrid won the Spanish title in 2007. In my not so humble opinion this was Beckham's finest hour. His dedication to his craft and trade in the face of disdain and indifference are a shining example to anyone in any walk of life of what true grit can achieve!
I’m so glad someone made this video because I grew up loving Beckham and I used to get made fun of because Beckham was always the first name I wanted to be like. Over R9, zidane, Ronaldinho btw I love those players too.
I started and following united due to him he came suddenly in my instagram feed and watched the Netflix series and i fell in love with hum and the club . Excellent work sam
David Beckham is my all time fav player of all time, wore my hair the same & practiced my free kicks to emulate him & to cross the ball and my daughter was born on the same day as him, 2nd may
David Beckham, skills were incredible and he was a superstar. His passing was unbelievable and what he could do with the ball was made him a legend. The only thing he did wrong was playing for Manchester United and he should have been playing for Arsenal. The thing is he had no big ego and he was just a good bloke and still is. Mind you I have to say his Manager Sir Alex Ferguson was the best at that time . He was a disciplinarian all his players were disciplined you had to be at United or you wouldn’t last long. But that’s how he got the best out of his players and they would always do there best to win. 🇦🇺Jon
I wish we had someone like him come from the academy to carry on the legacy of our academy and become a worldclass player and bring a new era in our club.
If by World Class you mean he'd be in the best 11 players in the world, then maybe he wasn't world class. However, he was very close to it. At United he was well down the pecking order although he was still adored by the fans. In terms of world class he was behind Robson, Schmeichel, Irwin, Ferdinand, Vidic, Stam, Keane, Scholes, Cantona and some might even add Giggs to that list. But he always gave 100% as the 99 CL Final proved and he had a better England career than almost anyone I can think of since Bryan Robson. Thanks for everything DB7 👏
For me, Beckham is the greatest ever crosser of the ball..also in the top 10 free kick takers of all time..but for me he doesn't get anywhere near best 200 players of all time..his work rate was very good but couldn't really tackle..meaning much of his tracking back was pointless.
I used to have arguments with my mates older brother. He'd say he as a winger and he couldn't beat people, I would say he doesn't need to, he can put the ball wherever it needs to be. He was phenomenal.
I'm not even a ManU fan, (Spurs for my sins), but Becks was a brilliant player and because he's good looking, and prepared for a career after playing, sour bastards like Souness say he was rubbish. There was no one like Becks.

Piss off Souness. BECKHAM 7 FOREVER! GOAT
He hardly wore the number 7! Far greater players wore the number at United than him.

Actually during his latest years, he operated mostly close to the middle, I think he did CM in AC Milan and PSG, but I might be wrong
I would think left wing would be amazing too. The way he bends the ball.
You know the way Ashley Young cuts in and curls it in at the peak of his career. Now imagine that with a technically superior David Beckham. Mouth watering
Brilliant! I was there at OT when he played his final game. He was outstanding and left United too early in his career in my view.
Used to practise free kicks all the time because of him😅
Souness thought Ali Dia was Premiership Quality. Nuff said.
Souness is definitely jealous and to top it off - he would be seen as a mid-level player 1st division player if his younger prime self was playing now.
Souness won far more then Beckham
@@timvella1817 You overslept on the day they gave out critical thinking, didn't you? Your posit is irrelevant. Him winning more during different era with his limited self does not mean he's a better footballer.
It's just an opinion. He still rates him. Some have different opinions of world class. Fergie doesn't consider him so.
People forget how massive he was. Just watch reels of the Japan WC and when he hit LA. It was absurd how big he was globally…and he backed it up every week for 20 years. Without question, to me, the greatest English export of all time, both in sports and as an ambassador.
People forget he was in the galactico squad with zidane ronaldo roberto carlos, etc most underrated footballer ever, because of his pretty boy image 🤍🖤❤
I remember, 0 CL and could not get out of CL round of 16 for 6 consecutive years, despite the big names.
@@alexman8800 shut up!!! And go away troll boy
Greatest player no way Ronaldo, Rooney,Scholes,Best, Charlton all were better
Of our great number 7s it's Cantona ( the King ) Robson and then Becks, all world class all worthy of the jersey and the praise.
"the finest striker of a football ever" doesn't mean that you're world class
@@Chief_Brody no but being called David Beckham means you were world class, end of.
@@Bdoc76 lol OK fanboi
I'm a United fan and must confess that I too had my doubts about Becks. Then I took my first trip to the theatre of dreams and was blown away. The first thing I noticed is that you don't get to see how hard Becks works off the ball, when you watching the game on tv. The other thing I noticed is how often he picks up the ball deep in his own half after tirelessly tracking back. Then of course that right foot. Lord have mercy. I saw him hit countless crosses from almost right full back position to the left wing, hitting Giggs with pinpoint accuracy. I was converted! My apologies to Becks for doubting him.
Love this, Sam! This is probably your best video yet 👌 I loved David Beckham, he was one of my childhood heroes.
World class without shadow of a doubt.
Keep up the amazing work with these vids.
CR7
Brilliant video, timely reminder. I'm from Australia and Beck's was the reason I started following the football as a kid in the 90s. He was the best in the world at more than one category.. absolutely world class
I supported United because of Beckham, was gifted a poster of him when I was a child and I was so happy to hang it on my wall, besides all wallpaper background in my computers as well. A real childhood hero for me.
Souness is just a whopper, he could probably say Diogo Jota is world class and Becks isn’t 😂
No player like David Beckham will ever be in the world of football again. He was in another level and from another planet like Messi.
Fabulous videos again Sam, great production, slick editing, and score, all round, wonderful vid, for our younger fans to see
just how to put in a shift, watch Becks in the 99 Final, in fact, that whole season he was a Colossus for Man Utd, and should get
his name sung, at OT
Your videos are getting better and better. You've reminded us just how great a footballer he was
You are doing incredble work for the United fanbase. Appreciate it!
I can remember he stayed in Cornwall in 2012 before his role in the London Olympics. Here his generosity was off the scale to get the accommodation he wanted and it was shockingly good. Souness you were a hard sometimes vicious player but surely you recognise Beckham is a good human being
Top bins Sam, this channel is the Beckham of content creation, world class smashed it dude ❤
Not a Man U. fan, happy to see them struggling recently :) but always a Beckham fan. The man's legendary, keep up the good fight dude 👍
I had a college roommate from Iowa that loved ManU and I learned just how badass David Beckham truly was.
Hanson. Cant win with kids. Souness Becks not world class ?? Liverpool haters are gonna hate. Beckham. One of the best UTD players. EVER
Unbelievable video. Thanks Sam! I appreciate all the time and energy you and the team put into videos like this. Keep em coming
Spurs fan here, UNQUESTIONABLY World Class as a player, regardless of the £, hype, and extras he brings. Down to earth and for a long while transcended football in England. I wish we saw more of peak Ginola in the EPL as a comparison. His Netflix show was awesome.
quality editing for this i can’t lie felt so professional
Sam, you have put your heart and soul into this and I my friend applaud your work AMAZING as always!!!!! Perhaps a mini doc on strikers past and present from early 90’s to now??
As an American kid who grew up playing during this time I loved Beckham. Every team wants a guy who can put it where you need it.
Brilliant piece! You work is great and appreciate what you do. It's balanced and sell thought. I watch many other channels and also like what they do but this kinda of reflection is above and beyond. Cheers!
Great to see videos like this from you and the team Sam, one of your best so far for sure! 🙌
That video definitely lived up to the hype! Amazing job, Sam and everyone.
As for Becks - nothing more to add, brilliant player and character. Love him to bits!
Beckham was, without a doubt, world-class and the most underrated player of his generation . Fantastic video, mate 👍🏻
Quality vid man! Absolute quality! Thanks for all the effort you put in!
The most underrated player in utd history for me is Norman Whiteside a deep dive on him would be awesome
Still the youngest player ever to score in the FA Cup final 40 years later.
Love him, even as a Liverpool fan
I don't think the trophies he won are relevant in this conversation.
Very good.
Great video Sam! Thanks for the best channel for Man Utd fans by far.
David Beckham is and always will be one of my favourite UTD players, he often get overlooked in "best ever teams", but he would be in my best ever UTD 11 every day of the week, he rarely had a bad game and had the ability to win a game almost single handedly. Simply put he WAS world class.
Really top tier stuff, Sam. Keep them coming! The hard work you put in is showing.. keep it up!
And also a Humble Family man. Loves his kids, Wife and fans. Most importantly his Utd and Madrid are closest to his heart
Brilliant video Sam.. Glad to see Becks getting some of the credit he rightly deserves ! 🇾🇪
Nice work. Becks will always be a legend for MUFC and is a football legend. 👍
Awesome bro really love your content. Proper United Fan channel. This is what it's supposed to be
I am Irish and I think Beckham is world class and a true gentleman.
Never got to see him real time, but seeing match replays, his game really is a thing of brilliance
Utd since I was 6 yrs old. Beckham could never do any wrong in my eyes - he was Utd. World class. Sour-ness go boil your head.
Awesome video and break down. Becks is legendary player status, no doubt
I started and following united due to him he came suddenly in my instagram feed and watched the Netflix series and i fell in love with hum and the club .
Excellent work sam
Outstanding Video Sam - this channel is so underrated!!
Wow people forget how good he was absolute legend man one of my favourite united players great video 🙏🏾👍🏾
Legendary little documentary on a legend. Big up and respect
🇦🇺Jon
He was absolutely correct playing for Manches United. No point for him to play in a club was populated by mostly assholes.
I wish we had someone like him come from the academy to carry on the legacy of our academy and become a worldclass player and bring a new era in our club.
The video the world needs to see. Nice one Sam
Great video. Well put together and makes a very good point
Really great video!
Sam, this piece is sooooooooooo good!!!! A timely reminder not to listen to anything Mr Souness says
What a player he was. Especially for Manchester United. He was fantastic.
Great video Sam
I used to have arguments with my mates older brother. He'd say he as a winger and he couldn't beat people, I would say he doesn't need to, he can put the ball wherever it needs to be. He was phenomenal.
I'm not even a ManU fan, (Spurs for my sins), but Becks was a brilliant player and because he's good looking, and prepared for a career after playing, sour bastards like Souness say he was rubbish. There was no one like Becks.
