    They've always had talented players and it is interesting to analyze why such talented players have not been able to carry the team to glory. I personally believe that it's due to the fast focus of European teams in tactics over talent. A tactically rich team can easily defeat a team with a handful of talented players that have little to no tactical advantage. Argentina is a great example of this. The most talented Argentina team in a long time won nothing from the late 2000s to late 2010s. They now have a manager that has given the team a good tactical foundation and now they are a solid team. Brazil needs to find a similar approach, balance their talent with more complete tactics.

    The rot started in the 2006 World Cup. Brazil still had quality players but they took it for granted and paid the price against France when Zidane ran circles around them. The 2010 World Cup Brazil were very conservative and lacked their trademark flair. 2014 is when Brazil hit rock bottom and truly never recovered since. Unconvincing wins against Croatia and Cameroon, barely survived against and their best performance Columbia. Brazil were absolutely destroyed against the Germans and even if Neymar and Silva played they would still lose but not in the most humiliating way. The disaster class in Belo Horizonte still haunts Brazil today and so many failures in major tournaments bar the 2019 Copa America became the norm. A sad case of this once proud nation and the most successful World Cup team reduced to mediocrity and failure amid having quality players today.

I dont think Brazil has been trash since 2006, they were still the best nation by far, but they did fall off after the 2021 copa america and there is one reason for that. They didnt have a starboy. Neymar had been carrying them for 10+ years, now that he is gone, everything is lost. I wish the best for brazil.

  • @SwabianClancy
    @SwabianClancy 20 днів тому +1

    In my opinion, part of the failure is this incredible arrogance that the players display on and off the pitch. They seem to think that they are not only entitled to be loved, feared and respected, but that they also have a lot of freedom in their actions. This leads not only to unsportsmanlike behaviour but also to ridiculing the opponent. And none of this is based on (recent) success, as is the case with Spain, for example.

    As a Brazilian I hope we keep losing, with shame, in football, and all other sports, so we direct our energy to real, serious problems. Football is a diversion. We have high rates of illiteracy and people dying in waiting rooms of public hospitals. We deserve to be seen for what we really are, a failed civilization, a bunch of losers. A lot of money for football, no money for education, science, technology advancement and rebuilding our military. Brazil is weak, underdeveloped and morally corrupt. We don't deserve to ever win a football tournament, or even a single Olympic medal, until we truly develop by focusing on real geopolitical issues.

    I think it is both ways, while it is true Brazilian players are not as dominating as they used to be, other nations are progressing with their players quality as well.
    especially now a days, when scientific training and diet maximize players potentials, then you have a more competitive opponent, I believe Japan is the best example of it, they got so much better in the last decade because their players developed better in physical attribution.

    Actually that's not the only crisis Brazil have been through .. I'm old enough to remember the seventies and eighties in the past century ..
    After winning their 3rd World cup in Mexico 1970 , Brazil struggled for more than 2 decades .. they had a golden generation that didnt only fail to win the world cup but failed to reach the semi finals ( I'm talking about Socrates , Zico , Falcao and Eder ) .. for five successive World cups the whole world was watching a Brazillian team that kept on stumbling and falling ..
    Then along came Romario Bibeto , Cafu and Dunga generation to win the 1994 WC and after that it was the 2002 WC with Ronaldo , Rivaldo , Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos ..
    ..
    One thing to mention , though .. What happened in World cup 2014 against Grrmany was a historical disaster that never happened to Brazil in the past century ..
    It was beyond my imagination .. It was too hard to swallow .. the worst loss for them before 2014 that i can remember was against France in 1998 .. but only 0-3 not 1-7 ..
