The IJN Akagi looks amazing. I really enjoy the 1/700 scale ship builds. The Master tool for carefully folding the photo etched parts looks quite handy to have.
Just sharing a fun fact. The IJN Akagi was originally designed as the second Amagi class battlecruiser along with her lead sister Amagi and their two other sisters Atago and Takao. The Amagi class battlecruiser was the planned successor of the preceding Kongo class battlecruisers. Takao was initially to have been named Ashitaka. Thanks to the Washington Naval Treaty, Amagi and Akagi were on the verge of being scrapped until a proposal to convert them into aircraft carriers under the displacement limit of 27,000 tons was made and approved. Due to the great kanto earthquake during 1923, Amagi's heavily damaged hull was scrapped and Atago along with Takao were cancelled. Source: Wikipedia.

The wooden decks were such a flaw with them battleships.
The US made quick work of them in the Battle of Midway.
The bombs went right through them.
@@KumaModels the bombs exploded in the hangar when the aircraft were under the armament and refueling process
The US carriers also had wooden decks. Only the British carriers had armored flight decks (well, up to the US Midway class)
How did you fix the overspray on the wood deck. I’d love to know.
He only had to repaint that area to cover it.
I used a bit of paint remover first to wipe off most of the overspray, then found a paint of similar color to the wood and gave it a light coat.
